In this video I Test my 1/10 Traxxas Maxx for the First Time since Installing a Hobbywing Max 6 Esc Amazon Affiliate Links - Hobbywing Max 6 (No Plug) - amzn.to/3FfOwC8
Wicked stuff Nolan 💯 there were some points it looked or seemed as tho you had only 2wheel drive yet it was just the amount of slip the tyres had on the grass🤔 or the grass was soggy but on the tarmac you definitely had all wheels driving 😎 hrv you swapped the fluids out for thicker or still stock oils Anyways wicked you have another solid rig to beat on This 🫤 once you sort that lipo strap out and by now I’m guessing you’ve something sorted already and your kraton 🔥💥 these would have you out for many a lipo pack’Ked filled day Nice of you to share Nolan🥃✅
Your Maxx is Awesome. It cuts through the grass without hesitation. Perfect double flip. I'm kind of new to the hobby and wonder why ESC's catch fire. You would think there would be some kind of safeguard against that. Perhaps a thermal cutoff or overcurrent device would prevent that from happening. The manufactures build in LVC to protect the batteries but let their ESC's go up in flames. ???
Cool, i'm glad that Max 6 is working well for you i'm debating on putting one in my XO-1 and maybe my future X-Maxx. With my XO-1 i'm debating if i should build a custom combo with the stock big block Traxxas motor and a Max 6 or Going for a Castle Mamba Monster X 8s with 1717 1650KV Sensored combo. And cool Maxx i'm debating if keep mine and do the V2 conversion to it or buy a new RTR V2.
hey about the strap situation i think i commented before, i went to harbor freight bought some construction knee pads that have 200lb velcro straps on them, cut them, put them in the rc cars, batteries do not come out and good luck ripping one
@RC Knockout don't necessarily need the extended hubs. Wheels will hit the arm but it's not really a big deal. Ran mine like that for over a year with no issue.
Could you tell me what battery tray you’re using? I see the straps, and I have some myself, but have never used them. I just made my Maxx 6s and while I can fit (2) 3s 5000 batteries in the stock tray, it’s really tight.
Greetings! Honestly I don’t have any experience with the Max 8, I decided to go with the Max 6 just to ensure that I wouldn’t have any heat issues with running 6s
Mate I tried them too theyre far too small you want the 10th scale ones you want me to post a link? They fit 17mm hex though so if you run 14 you'll need an adapter
Yes mate pretty sure they work perfect on that car they're not wide enough for full clearance round your steering blocks on the maxx you won't get a full turn with them and everything from two inches off the floor feels like a hundred when you land
I use to run the hobbywing max 6 but oddly enough I found the castle mamba monster x had more power and being able to run sensored is a nice thing hear and there especially when racing got cheat mode on castle
Any problems with that esc just picked up a used max with a bad esc off marketplace for 160$ with charger one battery an brand new tires. Looking for the best esc to throw in there
@@RCKnockout thank you for the reply really enjoyed watching your maxx video’s really helped my decision on the best esc. Between not having to sway bullets or anything like that👍
@@RCKnockout have you figured out that stock gears a bit much on 6s yet? Probably looking at 75-80mph truck on 2400kv and 65-70mph on 2050kv. I bet I know why that 150esc went up. 😂
@@cayenne7857 actually I ran it again on 6s with the stock gearing with the same huge paddles in the sand…..I intended to swap it out but brought the wrong gears…just this time with the Max 6 and the same gearing, no fire and no issues…I believe the issue was still that particular esc
@@RCKnockout I have my doubts. What 6s cars do you have that are running a 2:1 ratio out the box? The Infraction comes with 3.01:1, Kraton with 4.17:1. I'm sure the Summit is the same as Erevo and the Erevo is most interesting, as it shares the same final drive ratio with the Maxx. Stock gearing for that is 3.6:1 and the "70mph" high speed gearing is 2.3:1. Maybe you're not having issues, because you can never give it wot? Appreciate the channel man. You otherwise do really good work with it
@@bryanmiller476 lower kv means way more torque most of the time and cooler temps so more room to gear up, I have a max6 combo in my maxx, it's the 1650kv motor and it definitely is an upgrade, it's a way bigger motor (+13mm diameter and +15mm length) and yes it turns slower, but it has way more torque, I run tires that are 17cm diameter instead of 13.4cm and I was able to gear up to 26/50, while I could barely do 20/54 with the stock motor, and only 4s with a double fan setup due to it getting way too hot ( I don't use a temp gun, if I can't keep my fingers on it for 2 sec, then it's too hot imo) , while I can do 6s now with a double fan setup and it still stays pretty cool to the touch
