Agreed it’s just annoying that when people say the udr is weak and they send it of off 10ft jumps both trucks are great my friend has a losi and I have the udr great trucks
Ezra begin the udr isn’t a race truck it’s a basher I’m not looking to baby a rc car that’s why I got it if I wanted to drive in the dirt I’d just drive a utv what’s the point unless your racing or jumping it 10 ft?
Bought UDR a month ago. Front driveshaft screw came loose. Other than that so far tons of fun and looks soo real. I gwt around 30mins on a pair of 3s 5000mah Traxxas batteries. Buying a SBR 2.0 this weekend.
SBR 1.0 isnt bad at all, I would take the losi all day, The SBR 2.0 is absolutely amazing, I've run my pretty hard but take care of toys lol, I have no complaints, fully stock(for now)
I love how everyone is trying to proove a point to themselves that one brand is better than traxxas. They say things like "it looks better" that is an opinion and most people would say that the udr looks cooler. "its tougher" of course it is, the udr is scale and says not to bash it in the manual. "Its cheaper", of course it is, traxxas is an independent company and losi is owned by horizon, which owns hundreds of other companys including arrma and axial. I still like both companys and buy products from both of them, but horizon fanboys are very bad with this stuff and need to learn that just because you don't like something doesn't mean that it sucks.
I agree with you but fanboys seldom listen to logic. Unfortunately, everything has their share of them. I get shouted at by fanboys of my own football team because I’m honest enough to point out their flaws. They’re too busy being cheerleaders that they can’t be objective.
I just ordered the UDR and i was worrying about seeing all these videos saying its fragile but i also keep seeing after insane crashing it its breaking... Im glad you brought out that this is not a basher... if ppl want that they should get an xmaxx
@@xeroblastx I know the feeling. I bought mine used because it had only been ran once and was extremely cheap. Which also saved me the worry of thinking i bought the wrong thing. I see videos where they compare it to this and the mojave, but then they keep showing how the udr they are using is packed with aluminum parts which is just going to weigh the thing down. Btw from my experience, all the udr needs is rpm trailing arms and metal wheels hexes, i cartwheeled the thing twice extremely hard (which put holes in the ground) And the only damage was a slightly bent sway bar, which i haven't even fixed because it doesn't affect the vehicle.
The $100+ price difference isn't some arbitrary thing foisted by Horizon The SBR is much bigger, has stronger electronic components, and way more metal parts than the UDR The UDR might even have a better profit margin than the SBR in the end just in cost of build/material
Thanks drog. The SBR is a great rig and you're right, those bigger tires are really nice. If you do pick up a SBR, let us know how you enjoy it! Thanks. -Brett
I've never tried out the SBR and i own a UDR. The SBR is deff the better choice for performance, durability and power. So before choosing the UDR the next best thing I had was a 4X4 Slash. Stepping into the unknown territory of 6s, I know i was going to be in one hell of a surprise coming from 3s. So the UDR does have the power to it, and the other reason why I went with the UDR it just of it awesome scale looking finish along with the amazing travel in the suspension department! I love watching slo-mo videos on the UDR when it soaks up bumps and smaller jumps. The UDR is not durable enough to be a basher and a high jumper. I run my UDR like its an actual trophy truck trying to win the Baja race! =D Drift it around every dirt corner and don't turn sharp on the tarmac because you WILL! flip it over. I don't regret my decision between these 2 trucks at all.
I absolutely love my UDR. Havent had any issues with it, and i have been running it almost every weekend since i got it about 6 months ago. Not a single thing broke so far. *Knocks on wood furiously.
@@AMain_Hobbies Tell me about it. The slash on the other hand, that is another story. I just look at the thing and I blew drive shafts and shock caps until i finally upgraded them.
I'm good with my UDR. The SBR is just a bit bigger than I prefer. My UDR is for speed only, no bashing. I've replaced the problematic bits with aluminum the day I got it. If I want a basher, I'd use my Revo or buy the X-Maxx. 10 months after this comment, I now have the Super Baja Rey AND the UDR. C(=
I got a Traxxas UDR but then a mate got one of these Losi, the same one in the review and its a better truck. Yeah my UDR does accelerate a bit quick quicker but the Baha is better everywhere else. Just seems more drive-able and stable in corners than the UDR and definitely is more resistant to rolling. Kinda stuck with my UDR for now but I do really like it. And I do prefer the look of the UDR..
They are completely different cars, one is meant for realism the other is more for racing, you should have looked better for info since that fact is widely known in the rc community
Enjoy traxxas vehicles and actually in process of building a lcg slash to try hitting or exceeding the 100mph mark with it but the Losi SBR is badass.not only that but its bigger then the UDR not to mention faster out of the box so I'll go SBR.itll end up all hopped up anyhow so why not go bigger?lmao
My Traxxas is always needing my wrench time. My Losi is very reliable. My Axial and Team Associated like bearings. That's just my opinion though. As for the video both trucks look good. I would have to pick up the SBR.
I could not decide which one too buy,,, so I bought both except I got the Fox body orange one and I love them both ,but to be honest the Losi is better built.
Right out of the steering servo burnt out on my UDR in 20mins, upgraded to the 330. Then the rear diff stripped out on the 2nd run. So I'm not a bug fan of the UDR right now.
Traxxas is good depending on what the use the 2wd ones are good for getting in the hobby but not the best bashers. They also have tons of parts and they have been making some trucks for almost 30 years
how long has the Losi ten scte been going ?? how long has the Losi 8t been going ?? how long has the Losi 5t been going ?? i think its longer than 2 years you know
I love traxxas but this losi just is more appealing to me overall. Only downside is to try getting parts and will these be available in a couple of years?
Great video review can i use just a single 6S brick instead of 2 3S maybe use a bypass wire like Arrma dose Merry Christmas to everyone @ AMain Hobbies and happy bashing👍🤙😎🤪😜😝🙈🙉🙊👊✌
@@AMain_Hobbies I guess it depends on who packages it. Mine came with the plug and the cap already but is missing something (which I don't recall what it was) in the box.
So the Losi is larger, more powerful, stronger, has better electronics . . . but the Traxxas looks more scale. You can have your looks while you're replacing parts all the time. Traxxas dropped the thing $120 to offset the dough you'd need to stack in it just to get it to run w/o it seeing the bench afterwards.
Not true my udr out runs my buddy's sbr all day. Yes I broke the trailing arms, replaced with metal and I always change the steering servo in any rtr. The sbr is a bad ass truck but its kind of a heavy clumsy turd lol. There both fun as hell.
Pretty typical. We thought things would turn around with XMaxx being such a tank, but traxxas habit of giving us the bare minimum chinese plastic tub-mobiles at premium prices strikes yet again. At least they have a healthy aftermarket I suppose, we can look forward to ground-up a really nice version of the rig from ordered parts like you could with the slash, riding plump with HR /GPM upgrades and RPM plastic replacements
Thanks for the good video! I have owned both losi and Traxxas. As a general rule I have found the losis have beefier components and more metal items vs. plastic. But yes as to the general comments when I break a part on traxxas, go on their website, order with standard shipping and if I break it sat or Sunday at the track, I’m usually back out there next weekend because my part arrived and I fixed it Losi parts? I’ve been sort of lucky with in stock, but not always. Sometimes it is 3 or 4 weeks or no part then it’s junk parts search or another company’s parts, it’s a total fiasco... 🙄
If you get the Losi good luck finding parts for the s.o.b.. Knowing Losi they probably discontinued parts for the Baja Rey before they released the damn thing! 😂
I have never had any issues finding parts for any of my losi's. I have a sbr and 5ive t. The longest I have never had to wait more than a week for any part that I have needed. It takes about the same time to get traxxas parts since I don't have a local hobby shop anymore.
After the video I guess between the two it would be the Losi however if I were just choosing an RC I would spend another two hundred and get an XMAXX no question.
Oh yeah.. I mean.. Losi has that all metal chassie, just yuck... And the xmaxx, that wonderful all plastic chassie perfectly made in china. Who wouldn´t want that.
@@flattabang if you can afford one try it out you will understand what I mean. If you are racing then do your thing, I understand Traxxas is not top at the track but crashing and bashing they have been the best for me and I have bought many. I have seven grandchildren and started out with Redcat, total junk, I spent more time fixing than driving however right now I have 9 Traxxas vehicles. The youngest is 5 years old and I keep them in training mode while learning, another great feature but for me keeping them all one brand is simplest and allows for parts to be used across multiple vehicles. So based on my experience, there is no question, its Traxxas all day long but that does not mean there is anything wrong with Losi, it is just my choice. My last comment in relation to metal vs polymers, do you realize some of the best innovation in firearms has been through the use of polymer? You might just be surprised how durable with the added benefit of being able to flex polymer can be, used in the correct applications its replacing steel.
@DeviousRC 66 People say the same about those who can afford a corvette then ask if they can look at it, my guess you have never driven one. Maybe one day but for now it is probably best you focus on your real car, you would not want to own a toy worth more than the vehicle you drive to school.
DeviousRC 66 you show how little you know already and your fixation on compensation should concern everyone. You should see someone about that, talk it out.
@DeviousRC 66 I agree they are your worthless opinions, you might want to learn to keep them to yourself. If you do not have anything good to say do not say anything at all. As for my worth, my generation takes care of our parents and our kids, something you will never be able to accomplish. As an example, I bet you are still on your mom and dad's cell phone plan and insurance. Grow up and take care of your own bills before buying toys.
The SBR electronics alone are worth the price difference. Its a beast of a truck. I had to lawn dart mine from 10 feet high just to finally break a front arm. haha. Great video.
you tested the vehicles unfairly, you need to test the max battery capacity the car can handle out of the box without changing any connectors. That's a fair test.
Nah it wouldn't be. Now it's not even fair really because of the scale and the kv the motors have. Traxxas at i think 2200kv and sbr at 1200 is a big difference. And if you'd give the sbr a 8s ( think it's capable of that) it would theoretically go 73mph
the sbr can do 8s instead of just 6s of the udr. also udr has a shitty servo around 200oz tq the sbr has a servo more around 300. and tbh want something prob closer to the 400-450oz range.
my sbr went out to my local field, and the stability was like so capable and at hight speeds. two UDR s showed up 30 mins later, and i kept watching them roll over after roll. love my losi
Losi 24/7 I have have had 3 Traxxas products and thy have had problems with material, thy will brake EZ. On the other hand i have the Super Baja Rey and the only thing i truly hate is taking off the body.
Losi really needs to put out new licensed bodies like the 1/10 scale King and Black Rhyno ones for the Super Baja Rey in BND (preferably with the vertical spare wheels in the back), I would be all over that, just sayin'.
this was a difficult decision for me owning nothing but traxxas cars as of this time but I decided on the Losi, and took it home yesterday...first drive was blast!!
@@AMain_Hobbies Just upgraded to aluminum hex's n aluminum lower trailing arms n so far its held up good with just those upgrades, I ordered upper rear trailing links too but they never showed up
Love my UDR. Haven't broken a thing on it yet. Considering some of the jumps and crashes it's had, I'm pretty impressed. No doubt the Losi is tougher, but for me I'd take the scale looks and driving realism of the UDR. The servo is junk though. Replace immediately.
Dude losi is yo expensive we all know there look good but I prefer ARRMA because there more cheaper and better they don’t break easy like losi and all the others that’s just my opinion
@@curtisslack7458 arrma make some fine rc's, I have a v3 Talion that I love and I'm planning to get a Mojave, but if it were a choice between Traxxas and Losi i'd grab a Losi, you get what you pay for
Yep, Traxxas MPH marketing hype! I get similar results with my Traxxas vehicles...can't consistently hit their exaggerated MPH claims on the box...if ever! Your comparison further proves this. “The Fastest Name In Radio Control” ...or just the most arrogant?
Man, call a spade a spade!!! Don't downplay the fact that the Traxxas truck Underperformed and broke a lot of parts VS the Losi Overperformed with NO broken parts. I know Traxxas is your main brand, but the quality is just awful.
Once you own a RC you will find out its weaknesses. Right now i am regretting my udr. and these are my own opinions. tires are to small. sure it looks nice but it tends to flip too easy and nose dives alot due to the rear bumper scrapping off every jump that has to much of a kick/angle. Me being a basher. this truck is not meant for that.
Any chance of a link to the servo that was fitted into the UDR ? Great video dude kev Talbot is a great RU-vidr his buddy pat is sound too great to see Kev's idea for UDR battery connector switch helped
U forgot to mention a planetary gearset carrier feeds directly into the rear spool, I don't know why traxxas did this? I believe it changes speed of input from rear driveshaft to the output of planetary into the spool. If they were trying. To have the rear spool spin at a different ratio from the front diff, why not just run a different pinion to ring gear ratio from front?
So, does it make sense to change gear of SBR for somewhat lower max speed but longer drive time? It seems, for heavy environment, gear is setup too fast?
That makes sense, especially if your electronics ( motor & ESC ) are overheating. I do not know if you will have longer drive time. Drive time may not change, but it sounds like a good experiment. -Brett
My first rc was a losi was given to me by a friend gave it to my nephew painted a blue my self with chrome wheels his mother thew it away like it was a new brite i was so disappointed
No. The SBR uses coil over fluid filled shocks. The UDR also uses coil over fluid filled shocks, with the addition of internally sprung fluid filled shocks. The shocks on the UDR look cooler, but the shocks on the SBR are more than adequate. -Brett
I'd lick the udr because I love Traxxas and the udr just looks so muck better. Evendoe the losi is better for the price you pay I'd still choose the Traxxas udr
this is so frustrating. I am in the market to buy ONE rc car. Every kit I look at, some reviewer says what junk it is...no matter what I look at, experienced rc guys say its junk. Sooooo apparently I am not suppose to buy ANY rc cars because according to someone or another it is junk...someone says the Losi SBR is junk, the next guy says the Traxxas UDR is junk...so tired of all this...according to you guys, they are all crap..so why am I even considering becoming an RC guy?
