Read all the comments, since i saw your UDR video and this servo, i have been using this servo in all my bigger rc cars. I have one in udr and tekno et48 with belted tires. They have been good. My new(used) xmaxx servo gear stripped first time using it, oh boy was i happy to find this video. After installation i couldn’t believe how strong the servo is. Tx for this great video!

I ordered some £12 KZ earphones in January and recieved two of these servos. I decided that they must have somehow known I was into RC and that it was a late xmas present. That's my story and I'm sticking to it 😁

I have Jx in my Hobao hyper cage truggy, extremely happy with it. 32 kilo high voltage, super snappy.

I’ve been pretty happy with Traxxas 2075 servos for one main reason. They usually return to center! So many servos don’t center properly for various reasons. Either they are complete junk like Tower Pro MG995’s which inherently can’t center or they don’t have enough torque to pull the wheels back to center. All I want is an inexpensive reliable servo for 1/10 scale RC’s. Recently I’ve been using Annimous 20kg servos which cost less than $20. Traxxas servos also have repair kits available. I haven’t seen that for competing brands. That means if you ruin your $60 servo, you’ll have to replace the whole thing instead of buying a repair kit for $4. Unfortunately it’s plastic gears which is why I’m always on the lookout for something better. I’m not spending $60 on a servo for a $150 vehicle. The Xmaxx needs something more expensive and powerful but for normal 1/10 RC’s there’s got to be something decent in the $10 range. I’m considering trying out a KS-3518. They are under $10. I just hope it centers.

I just bought the traxxas 2085x servo for my Maxx, Didn't even know they made this bracket. I got a spare xmaxx servo saver spring I wont need to use lol.

So I swapped to a Savox servo and my steering is also backward now. How or did you remedy this ? And it also slowly creeps to one side like it's constantly engaged slightly??

I've ordered the same servo last week. I also ordered the standard size adapter plate from Aliexpress, in aluminum. I was a little more than the stock plastic one from Traxxas, but it won't flex as much. I'm keeping the rest of the X-Maxx plastic to keep the weight down. But in the steering department I think less flex is better.

whats screw are you using to put the stearing rod to the servo horn?

I want one for my UDR but when I looked at the spec and it’s says 54mm length while UDR has 40mm in order to fit.

I put a max 5 in my xmaxx got almost 10mph more . Then I put badlands on now the its having a hard time going back to center, before replacing it I'm going to turn up the voltage on the bec. Thank you for the upload now I have the part # for the adapter just have to decide what servo to get

I wonder whats the difference vs the 7146 to the 7346 besides a millimeter or two in case size? The 7146 is $65 dollars and the 7346 is $49.99 on Bangood. Both are labeled 46kg servos?..Gearbest is sold out!😀

Hi and thanks for your videos. Always enjoyable and informative. In this one, you tell that you ended up having to change the servo horn. What did you use in the end? I did the same, using a nearly identical servo horn, and it stayed in place only for a couple minutes. I also tried using the original servo horn (the one that fits into the bearing), using an adapter from a Traxxas 1844 servo saver, but it survived less than a minute (little nylon piece). My last option seems to be to buy a horn with a longer neck. What would you recommend? Thanks a ton!

hi buddy, how did you fit the link with the standard servo horn? the part that i came to see how you did and you didnt explain it. would like to see how it was holding for you because the traxxas horn had to ends to screw into.

Thanks for that video! I have the X-Maxx 8S and after just a couple of charges I like to swap out that stock servo for another one, stronger and quicker, the stock one I find to slow/weak. I was looking at HV7146MG yesterday, then today I found your video :) I guess the servohorn from "Memory" was good and did not need any trimming to fit? Do you have a link to that horn?

that servo adapter is JUNK. I replaced the servo in my XRT with the traxxas adapter and a AFG servo. It sat in there loose and kind of wiggled around 2-3mm. So much so the servo adapter would dislodge itself and fall further into the chassis. I ran the screws down so tight it pancaked and split the screw posts on the chassis. Ordered a new XRT chassis and installed the adapter into it, same thing.... Ordered a GPM aluminum adapter and am waiting for it to come in. Terrible design for traxxas to have it mount in 3 points instead of 4 and also its not a full circle/eyelett its like a little ear that just sandwiches inbetween the plastic chassis screw post and the metal on the screw.

Why do these companies do these silly size parts.

Friends don't let friends put Mickey mouse servos and their X-Max. It's not safe because such a small servo such a big vehicle when it fails hopefully doesn't hit nobody

This is all BS money making scheme my traxxas Bought a brand new xmaxx & the servo crapped out after a several runs For $900 plus what another what $600 in batteries & a charger this truck should have metal gears in the servo Not a happy Traxxas guy who has 7 traxxas trucks

Traxxas doesn’t disclose the torque specs on the 2085x because it’s an embarrassment.

The stock servo and the 2085x for the Xmaxx are absolute trash. Don’t waste your money on the 2085x.
