Lookin' good man. I can relate about getting out of the hobby then coming back to it. I sold my 1/16th Slash, regretting it, then selling my 2wd Stampede to a friend that sold it back to me totaled. I rebuilt it, & now, that sucker is my main Truck I drive! I've redid a Rustler & I'm getting another 4x4 in two weeks!
Cool truck, I was thinking about selling my current X-Maxx then getting an X-Maxx Ultimate later on in time but i chose to rebuild my current one after i last broke it and spending the difference from a new stock one vs the Ultimate and making mine my own Ultimate X-Maxx out of mine And i'm with you brother i'm "Mostly" not brand loyal i just buy whatever vehicle interests me.

Congrats I got a stock one couple weeks ago trying to figure out the best way to set it up with aluminum parts I though about getting the ultimate, but I didn’t think the extra 500 was worth in the upgrade they put in there
