What are your thoughts on the Summit Notebook from Trayvax? Will this be your next wallet?

My son loves this wallet! We watched your review and it really helped him make his decision. He has used it over a month now and he loves it. I need room for more cards and IDs so I chose the Axis which is perfect for me. the summit notebook is well designed and comes with a great Fisher space pen.

You adjust the strap to how many you cards you put it. Whether you take some out or add you adjust the strap accordingly and it’s more durable then elastics or silicone

I did that in the video. Adjusted to the amount of cards I carry everyday. What I said was when I take a card out, then the cards become loose and could fall out. I’m definitely not adjusting the strap every time I take my card out to pay for something. If it was elastic or silicone, it self adjusts.

@@ChrispyThings so im curious what happens if you only take one card out? You took multiples out and that kinda seemed inevitable. Does it still do this when you remove just the one you need? Thanks

I actually replaced the strap with an elastic one, and it makes the Summit my favorite minimalist wallet. Just sew one end on itself and burn the other side so it doesn’t fray. Now I can change the amount of cards without compromising stability. It may not be as durable, but I have a lot of elastic should I need to replace it. I also use the elastic side for cash instead of the built in money clip, since the amount of cash I carry never seems to work with the very limited clip.

Hey Crispy. Yayyy! Your Summit Notebook review! I have one coming on order as you know I like my Contour and Trayvax .. I also ordered it as a whole as I don't already have a Summit. But I agree... I will probably only carry on certain occasions as my Contour is slimmer. So you are in Buffalo... I'm in Toronto and I think this is one of those rare occasions we got more snow then you did today! On another note still waiting for the Trayvax knife to be on Kickstarter... thanks again for giving me the heads up on that!! Cheers... and look forward to your next review

Yes I’d imagine you’d keep your Contour as your edc and use this on special occasions for sure. But I think you’ll love it when it arrives! Yes I’m near Buffalo and we got some snow but I heard Toronto got nailed. Lol Regarding the knife, that Kickstarter is live right now! I ordered mine the day it went up. I think there’s still knives available!

Ok... gonna order a s35vn. It is a good price even with exchange for me in Canada. Would this knife normally catch my eye with skeletonized handles... probably not. But the sheath and s35 and Trayvax quality is gonna make me go for it! Thanks again

Me neither!! Can't wait! I am also waiting on a carbon fiber handled m390 steel Bradford Guardian 3.5 with also a horizontal carry nice leather sheath... will be fun to compare the two! (I chose the horizontal carry on Trayvax)

Enjoyed this review. Answered questions, straight to the point, and great visuals. I have no prior experience with this company, but I'm in the market for a new wallet, and Trayvax gets tons of great reviews. This one's design piqued my interest above all the other Trayvax models. I'm a little worried about it, though. I ALWAYS carry my wallet in my back pocket and don't plan to change that anytime soon, so I wonder about how the Summit Notebook would handle that level of abuse. I'd be sitting on it a lot, and I'd hate to quickly destroy it just using it like I would any other more traditional wallet. Any insight? Regardless, thanks for taking the time to upload.

Hmmm. I wouldn’t recommend this as a back pocket carry, or any wallet with metal in it for that matter. It would be uncomfortable and you fun the possibility of bending it. Even though I believe it could take the punishment. But I have no experience with this theory

@@ChrispyThings Hey, thanks for the quick reply! I def wondered about those things (bending the frame, my discomfort, etc). I guess these types of wallets are more specifically designed for side pocket carry. Slight bummer as I do like the design and features, but I luckily haven't pulled the trigger on anything just yet. More research to do. Thanks again for your input.

Question..... Regarding the tension of the cardholder if you remove some cards can you just tighten down the strap to get a better retention. Looking to get this wallet and I change my cards out often more or less. Thank you

yes, that's what the nylon strap does. VERY easy to just tighten down or loosen up, depending on how many cards you carry.

Chrispy Things yes definitely. The system used to hold pretty much everything in the dango makes it much better. The system just looks more secure to me In every way
