TRD Exhaust System: Toyota 4Runner Project Pt. 3 

I've personally heard it and it sounds better than the stock 4Runner exhaust... Also I like the side exit exhaust while I have my rear hatch open. Less chance of fumes in the cabin and the hot exhaust tip it routed away from my legs.

Man it’s about time u guys offer TRD cat back exhaust for the 5th gen 4Runner. Should of made this decade ago. Good thing is if I had a used 5th gen 4Runner SR5, this would be my excellent choice. 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼 TRD at best

Ive got the Magnussen blower on mine and I think the stock exhaust is holding it back. Anyone chime in on how much punchier it makes the motor down low??

I've owned three 5th Gens: Trail, Limited, and now 2020 TRD Pro. I've also owned a 5.7L V8 Tundra with TRD Exhaust. This 4Runner TRD exhaust is lousy. Unpleasantly noisy, and I perceive no extra power. If Toyota would offer a V8, perhaps the engine wouldn't be working so hard all the time thus producing a loud and noisy cabin in which no one can have a normal conversation. Do not recommend. We are now having to buy a stock exhaust to replace. This TRD exhaust is only quiet and proper while cruising steady at 45, 60, and 80 MPH speeds. Unpleasant droning sound continues at virtually all other numeric speeds while in steady cruise, and while under acceleration. Does not sound "cool" when starting the engine, like you'd think. Shockingly, also does not sound "cool" even when just revving. The Tundra TRD exhaust had a nice little growl at start and while revving, and sounded "right" while accelerating. And though it was a little louder than stock while cruising, it didn't drone unpleasantly. I previously owned a 2008 Sport Edition 4Runner 4WD with the V8, no TRD exhaust, and it was awesome - quiet at cruise/growled nicely when you wanted it to. That one sounded WORLDS apart from this one, and was totally stock.

Best thing I've done to my TRD Pro was to swap for a stock 4 Runner exhaust.

Explain this to me then... why does the new 2020 Toyota Supra sound like a BMW motor?????
