What I adore about Primus is how Ceremonial his transformation feels. Using an artifact to transform him feels like a the proper kind of Ritual you would need to do to summon a God.
It happened briefly in the Shattered Glass: another light, but it was very short and it lasted only a few panels until someone's deviantart OC came in like a Mary Sue and one-shot primus. Not like this had any build up before Another Light but still a rushed and anticlimactic ending to sg.
It would be so nice, if they have a revamped Armada Line after WFC - with a big Titan Class Armada Tidal Wave Nice Video! Keep it up, love the bri-ish and quick style of yours!
I would be down for that. Especially since a lot of the old Armada toys were severely limited by gimmicks. I’d love to see Hotrod and Stepper specifically. Those two deserve a toy that isn’t COMPLETELY borked.
Honestly after seeing all of Unicron's cool action features and light up nonsense I'm way more interested in getting one of these than the haslab big boy
I love the implications of Dead End, he's Unicron's minicon partner, but Unicron is the size of a planet, thus despite being a "minicon", Dead End is still one of the biggest Transformers
I sure have a lot of fond memories of Unicron - He was like the best toy I ever had as a kiddo. I still remember crying when someone almost certainly stole Dead End though.
One thing I just realized about Unicron's features is how he represents his toyline. With each Transformers line in the Unicron Trilogy, there was a key feature that made the Transformers of the time special, and both T-Gods are tasked with highlighting that special feature. With Primus, the big feature of the line was Cyber Planet Keys. So, with Primus, you can use any key to unlock his big arm guns and... that's it. Yeah, there's the Omega Lock and you can shove keys into that, but you don't have to if you want-to/need-to use the lock to unlock Primus. In fact, I think Primus does a good job of representing how lackluster the Cyber Key feature was overall: it wasn't a bad idea, but it was underwhelming in the long run. With Unicron, the big feature of the line was Minicons. Won't unpack everything great about Minicons, but let's dive into how Unicron uses them. True, he only has one gimmick that actually requires the "Minicon key". But he can also showcase Minicons on his rings, and store some away in those compartments- or, if you want him roleplaying in a hangry mood, have a Minicon in his tummy-bin be his lunch! He's almost like those base playsets they made for action figures. That makes his role as a toy in the life of a kid (at least, one who loves Transformers) seem so much more involved.
you know, looking at these two, i wonder, why the hell do those KO companies make those upscaled KOs of figure that don't need them, when these guys would have been perfect for it
I myself display unicorn in planet mode, using a riser to keep him and his rings off the shelf. Makes for a nice setup with my choices of scourge, cyclonus, and off color megatron. Now compare Primus to rung, that'll really be fun.
First thing I did when I got Primus recently was put him in planet mode, stand Siege Rung on it with arms out punching, and hang a pokeball at the end of Rung's fist as a moon he could punch.
Great video!! Don't get me wrong, Primus is the clear winner in my book, on just about every point. But I absolutely love a good comparison video between two great figures.
It bothers me every time I see Primus and the person transforming him hasn't pulled his hands out so his knuckles aren't just poking out of his wrists.
Unicron does look really good in those poses. The feet on mine are loose, so I didn’t realize he was that poseable. And funnily enough, I actually have both Primus and Unicron displayed in planet mode right now.
Just found your channel lad and I bloody love it. You and Repugnus keep up the good work. (Also I saw on another episode you were at Dublin City Comics - are ye mates with Doc etc? Are ye local?)
I'm scared to try to transform my Unicron now. He's been exposed to too much sunlight over the years and feels a bit like he's seizing up a bit. Some of the plastic has discoloured too. My fault for being one of them twats who just didn't care about his toys for too long. For years I thought that Primus was just a retooling of Unicron so I never got it. Jealous of anyone that has them both. Which means I'm jealous of you.
I actually want to look for the g1 remold of the Armada Unicron and the blue Primus I definitely think it pops and gives Primus full of life when it planet mode . I probably would get the g1 cartoon colored Studio series Cell Unicron especially if you're looking for a good Unicron with a good planet modevas well as a robot mode even the poster color scheme is still good and there both a fair affordable price I seen them for about $140-400 for either figure still way better of a price than the $17000 HasLab Unicron and their heads are way better than HasLabs in my opinion
