Treasure Cay: A Complete Guide 

Hello Nick and Mell, my wife Angie and I (Bob) have just watched your video for the first time with mixed emotions, on the eve of Dorian 4 years ago it is hard to watch. We owned the house "The Johnston's" at the end of the canal where you have been mooring your Bahama boat on the renovated dock. We lived there full time and survived the storm by moving to a friends house on Ocean Blvd. on the day of the hurricane other wise we would have died inside our collapsed home. It was a shock to see your drone video of our former home but happy the new owner of the land kim, has fixed up the dock. We have been watching your videos all night and love your enthusiasm for the peninsula of our former home Treasure Cay. You have so much passion for the place, as you would considering you have been going there since you were a child and the only person we have found who has been giving up-dates for the future of Treasure. As you, we loved going down to Tipsy's bar and sitting on corner of bar and then trying to ride our bikes home later! Oh so many wonderful memories.

What a great yet sad video Nick, thank you for making it. 27 years ago today me and my now ex-wife arrived in Treasure Cay for our honeymoon. We stayed in room 106 I believe in the Treasure Cay Marine Resort. Everyone there was so nice and knew us as the young honeymooning couple. Before we went everyone told us we were crazy to go there and that we should go to Nassau but we wanted something different and intimate and we found it at Treasure Cay. I first heard about it when I saw Treasure Cay beach in a magazine article listing the 10 best beaches in the world. I remember scuba diving with Treasure Divers and Capt. Leon taking us out and making a bunch of being married jokes. We ate at the Spinnaker restaurant and two other little diners. It was lobster season so that was pretty much all we ate. We spent our last night dancing at the Tipsy Seagal but our favorite memory was walking and swimming out to Sunrise Cay for a surprise picnic for my ex-wifes birthday. I was just looking at old photos and watching video's we had converted to DVD of our honeymoon with my 15 year old son while comparing them to how the island looks now. My husband and I 87 throuh 95. We spent our honeymoon there. We loved it and had so much fun. Many great memories.... On our second day my husband lost his wedding ring. Never thought we would ever it again. I posted a note at the grocery store bulletin board. A women found it and knocked on our day were going home. Imagine that!!!!!! St. Anthony came through. Back in the late 70's I stayed at a place called the union jack motel and union jack bar. Have you ever heard of it

I am amazed that the coconut trees survived, it seems. Btw, I grew up in Abaco. My father worked in Treasure Cay until he passed. I can't see myself leaving Connecticut and returning to Abaco on a permanent basis 😢.

Thanks for the tour. I was there last in August just prior to Dorian. Had dinner with Nicole who is a friend of mine when I lived in Nassau. The video made me sad as I went to all of those places you mentioned. Love Bahama Beach Club too so perhaps rent your unit when the time comes to return. Good to see the progess being made.

Great video, Olindes! If my family still owned property there, Nick, I'd vote for you for Mayor! I'm excited to see your enthusiasm for the place I spent my teens through my 30s. It was a much different place that you experienced in your youth, but it was a very special place in our lives. Keep up the good work, and keep these videos coming!!!

Hey Nick , thanks for the videos and updates - especially appreciate the TC overview . Had the fortune visiting TC as a kid back in the late 80s and early 90s, special place. I've had difficulty finding any video showing if there's been any development out at rock point since the hurricane. Any updates or video you can provide?

Great video. I really have no idea how development in Bahamas or Treasure Cay works but it sounds like the entire Treasure Cay redevelopment is a single entity versus many business owners/developers on the island. Is that right? Seems like having a single entity responsible for so much may end up nice, but leaves so much risk to a single person causing delay in developing again. Looks like a ton of potential and hope to visit soon...... until then will look forward to your videos.

Do you have much info on the current conditions of the Marsh Harbor area? I am just about to close on some beachfront property on a little lagoon in a place called Cabbage Point, in what is called Turtle Rocks between Treasure Cay and Marsh Harbor. I haven't been to Abaco for a very long time but did stay somewhere on Treasure Cay at Townhomes on the beach. I am buying based on realtor photos and Google earth, but wasn't aware the island was still so wrecked. Are there Grocery stores etc. operating in Marsh Harbor as well yet? Would love to see a similar tour of that part of the island and what the conditions are.
