Treating Hyperpigmentation Naturally can be a slow and frustrating process especially if you have melasma or darker skin.
Clinical studies have shown that the best results come from a combined protocol of professional tretments AND prescribed home care.
**Links to Sources and Product Suggestions are below**
Treating hyperpigmentation naturally with these ingredients can help lighten hyperpigmentation over time by inhibiting tyrosinase production. Tyrosinase is an enzyme that is needed to turn the pigment brown.
So instead of using a bleaching agent such as hydroquinone, you can use some of these natural ingredients.
We briefly go over the common known ingredients such as green tea, Azelaic acid and L-Ascorbic acid but we go more into natural ingredients that have actually shown in clinical studies that it helps lighten hyperpigmentation.
One clinical study showed that when vitamin C is used with a process called iontophoresis, the results were significantly better than without.
Treating hyperpigmentation Naturally for dark skin will be next week
Many of the natural ingredients performed better in treating hyperpigmentation when paired with another ingredient that increased skin penetration.
The source for the clinical studies based on these ingredients can be found on my blog:
Some of the products that have the ingredients will be listed below:

Finally! Kuddos to your disclaimer! I'm tire of hearing from other dermatologists that just because a product has shown scientific positive evidence it doesn't mean is going to work for everyone. The same holds true for ingredients that aren't backed by science, yet some people use it and it works for them.

I’m curious about what studies were done on persons of color? Unfortunately in the beauty industry there are rarely ever any products let alone information on how to deal with our skin type. We experience different skin issues than people with less melanin, therefore if a product is ONLY tested on Caucasian people or Hispanic people it more than likely will not help a person with darker colored skin. Obviously Hispanic people come in many different shades, however just observing the information provided I’m pretty sure these studies didn’t include those with more melanin in their skin. It’s unfortunate to say the least...
@GoSeeChristy
@GoSeeChristy 3 года назад
HI @BeyondBeauty20, thank you for watching. This depends on the study. If you go to my blog posts, some of the links indicate who it was done on. In some of the videos, I do mention the ethnicities of the subjects, but only if they were specified in the study. For example, in the recent Vitamin D and your skin video where I talk about that how vVItamin D and dark skin, the study indicated african americans, hispanics vs caucasians.

Anyone reading this please take notes! the answer to curing hyperpigmentation is thiamidol! No one seems to talk about it but there are studies with it that show its amazing benefits. It's more effective than hydroquinone and the best part is that it doesn't have nasty side effects and you can use it for how long you want to. I've been using it for almost 2 months now and the results are incredible!! I was so self conscious about my PIH and now the dark spots are almost gone, and the inflammation has decreased like crazy!! with 2 more months I'm sure all the hyperpigmentation that I have left will be gone. Don't waste time with other stuff that will only irritate your skin and worsen your condition.
@GoSeeChristy
@GoSeeChristy Год назад
According to clinical studies, the efficacy of this is equivelent to 4% HQ. However, depending on each individual results will vary. This seems to work best on mild to moderate melasma. Please note that this is NOT a natural ingredient. A.K.A isobutylamido-thiazolyl-resorcinol. This is synthetic drug. Repeated exposure to Rescorcinol can cause damage to the liver and kidneys (just like HQ) and affect the central nervous system. When the liver is overtaxed, some people will begin to form Ochronosis (darker skinned people) and for some, dermatitis can develop, so pls use caution. Glad you found something your skin responded to, but please be aware...this is anything BUT natural.
@rg6712
@rg6712 Год назад
@@GoSeeChristy I never said it was a natural ingredient. Yes it is synthetic but overall and according to the studies that we have available it has less side effects than many ingredients that are natural (such as vitamin C and other AHA which often irritate some skin types). But yes I do agree with you when it comes to trying to be as safe as possible. People should weigh in their options accordingly to their skin type, lifestyle and many other factors. I was just sharing my experience because I've tried many natural ingredients as well as synthetic ones (hydroquinone) and so far the best option was thiamidol. And I do have a very sensitive skin with atopic dermatitis. It may not work for everyone because every skin is different but after my experiences I'm sure it will work for a large number of people out there.

I've been thinking about buying one of those supplements because even if they dont work for that purpose I will be buying something thats very healthy for the body overall. I've tried polypodium leucotomos (Im not sure if thats how its spelled hahah) but it didnt work for me

Glutathione needs to be liposomal for higher absorption rate. You have to be careful because most of them are made with sunflower oil which is highly inflammatory. I finally found one that is made with extra virgin oil. Here is a link if you are interested; amzn.to/3C16tDt Also, to boost glutathione production NAC is a good supplement to take with that: amzn.to/45Eo5Cp I also have different glutathione videos here is a playlist such as the best time to take glutathione: ru-vid.com/group/PL9t5sg-wdUL1_2_er05IFcW0iDaDQ4-HZ Hope this helps! : )

@GoSeeChristy
@GoSeeChristy 5 лет назад
If the stretch marks are old, they are more difficult to get rid of. Here is a brand that I used to sell at my store for stretchmarks and scars. This one is NOT exactly the same but it is similar. amzn.to/2zmt7px The irregular striations of stretchmarks are different than regular skin so the lines of demarcation will soften with regular exfoliation and the darker areas will start to fade over time but turning the stretchmarks into regular skin texture is not possible. You can also regularly exfoliate to soften the lines and avoid sun exposure.

Try to find the sunscreen that also has tyrosinase inhibitors. I would avoid chemical based sunscreens.

Love your videos.. informative and useful.. best wishes and good luck I use vitamin c serum that I make myself .. the form of vitamin c is sodium ascorbic phosphate ..I find this form is more gentle to the skin .. I added in my latest formula vitamin b3 at a percentage of 4 since both of tjem wirk well at high ph .. being an expert I would like to know is it ok to incorporate both ingredients in the same product along with some other extracts.. I just want to make sure that I am doing the right thing.. thank you in advance

Sumayia, I would need to know what other extracts you are adding . Mixing ingredients to put on the skin is not like cooking so I would need more information.

Hi .. thank you for replying .. I use extracts I read on ingredient list of other vitamin c serums using the same form of vitamin c.. I then try to choose what addresses my skin concern which is anti aging and acne .. I add green tea, willow bark, licorice , chamomile , which hazel and pomegranate extracts

Apple cider vinegar gets rid of my dry skin... Peels lightly

Apple cider vinegar will exfoliate the skin, this is where the peeling comes from.
