Welcome back into the world of buying and selling luxury watches at Watchtrader & Co. To begin we join Josh with a customer who wants to part-exchange two watches from his collection. He has a Zenith Pilot Chronograph 45mm in bronze with its distinctive oversized crown. The next timepiece is an IWC Aquatimer Chronograph reference IW376803. The client is in the market for a steel and gold Rolex with the Sky-Dweller and GMT-Master II on his shortlist.
Hendo joins us in the studio to discuss a trio of unusual watches. The first being a Datejust 41 Wimbledon in steel and yellow gold, however this one has a strange aesthetic distinction. The dial has turned a purple-ish hue and the cause of this change is unknown. What we do know is that the watch has been opened up and there are no signs of water ingress. He also has two ladies watches that trade for well under their retail prices. Firstly, we see a Chopard Happy Sport with its well known floating diamonds above the dial. The next is a Breguet in white gold with a white porcelain dial and diamond set case.
A gent interested in a blue dial Submariner in either full yellow gold or bi-metal is faced with a difficult decision. Having owned the full gold one in the past he needs to decide whether he can justify paying the current market price. He paid £20,500 for one in 2013 and while the current market price is around £6,000 under the rrp, at £28,500 it’s still a fair amount higher than his last one. Will the two tone Bluesy fit the bill as the perfect daily for 2024?
Harry sits down with a customer who is due to get married and wants to find his ideal watch. He has his sights set on the iconic Omega Speedmaster Professional Moonwatch. The budget is set at £4,000 so the current generation model is a little out of reach but we do have a previous generation sapphire and hesalite model that we can do a deal on. The beauty of the Speedmaster moonwatch is the subtle design iterations between each model. You can put a 50 year old moonwatch next to a brand new one and clearly see the model heritage. This mean that you can pick this watch up pre-owned for a very attractive price and get the full experience of owning the watch that went to the moon.
