My mate bought the same, I spoke to him last week and asked how many times he'd worn it in 6 months...twice 🤷🏻♂️. He may as well sell it, if you're spending that kind of money I don't see the sense in it being in a box hidden in a cupboard.
@@mpdeviney I wouldn't buy it for it to sit in a box , I wear all my watches just rotate them. I've kept my root beer in good condition there's small/micro scratches all over the place.
I think the rootbeer is awesome and is actually a bargain considering you will pay similar money for a batman and more for a Pepsi, these are steel watches a red/blue bezel is just not as good as having some gold.
I walked past my AD and they had a Guiness/Zombie two tone in the window ready to buy, so I bought it 3 weeks ago. I also went into another AD a few months ago and they had 3 x full yellow gold on Jubilee (yes, three)
Well said. I got tired of waiting for the BLNR 126710 jubilee. Was able to find a 2020 on the gray for 15500 US. No headaches, no extra spends and I have the watch I love.
*This is why i have my 16710, Rolex will still sell me the OG jingly jangly Oyster and Jubilee and any of the 3 aluminum bezels, + the 5 digit era was the most aesthetically pleasing in terms of lines and design, and it didn't come with the current era drama and shenanigans.*
Good info on buying the popular GMT models in the UK. I would love to get feedback from Brendan's fans in the US. What GMT models are available for walk-in customers?
You have to use a family owned independent dealer, if your dealer is owned by watches of Switzerland like my local ad, you will never get any watch of any type, i’ve been on mayors in sarasota fl list for 5 years.
Don’t bother lah, no purchase history is almost no chance of getting any. hour boutique has a lot of tudors watches on consignment and the boss told me that these people are trying to racking purchase history for their next Rolex
Double grand job lad. Well done. Pleased to hear I can buy my grail watch the 126711 as a walk in. My local AD is suggesting I have no chance of buying the watch for 3 years given their waiting list! They are an independent AD so perhaps they get limited numbers but 3 years!? No way.
Thanks for the video Brendan. And here we were, thinking the watch market was dead 😔 . Still a sad state of affairs for true watch enthusiasts and collectors. Do you ever think we'll go back to pre covid days (around 2017-2018) when you could walk in and buy any sub configuration or GMT of your choosing? (I know Daytona was always hard to get but I remember being offered GMTs and subs as a walk-in like it was nothing.)
Wow, I didn't know that about the bracelets... that's good intel. I've got both the GMT Rootbeer and YM40 Rhodium on my registration list with my AD. I wonder which one I'll end up with...
Brendan I’ve been on the waiting list since March for a Rootbeer not heard anything yet when you say walk in do you mean physically or can I enquire by phone?
Like you, I am waiting for a Root Beer on a Jubilee... That would be stunning and really easy/lazy for Rolex to release at Watches and Wonders next year.
Good video Brendan although when you say 'Rolex' I think you mean the AD? I purchased my GMT 'Batman' back in Oct 22 from my AD & sometime after enquired about getting a jubilee strap. I was also fed that crap about having to send the old oyster strap back - complete nonsense! I visited Rolex H.O at St James Sq in London which is also a service centre and was able to purchase a jubilee strap for my Batman which they also fitted for me (March23.) Jubilee cost me £1750.80 and they even gave me 1 of those little Rolex pouches to take my oyster bracelet home in.
They changed the rules recently for the GMTs and sky dweller because of the premium on the secondary market. You can still buy the oyster or any bracelet on the date just range.
One thought for fans of the black/grey bezel steel GMT. If you don't have the spend history nor the budget to pay the premium on the Gray market, try on a Seiko GMT to see if it is acceptable choice until the AD can get you one. Ditto for the Pepsi and Batman Seikos.
Great job getting through this; it's confusing and made my head hurt. Fortunately GMT's don't do a thing for me, although it seems like everyone is making them lately.
Hi Brendan I hope you are keeping well & healthy and you are having a positive, happy week so far. I have just come across your channel, and I love your honest, genuine opinions . I look forward to watching & listening to your next video. Brendan, enjoy the rest of your evening and week ahead. Best wishes
Even though I’ve got nothing against the grey market as it’s the way of the world in all businesses, But if I can’t buy from an AD at list I’m not interested. I’ve been on the list with an AD for a Batman since April 2021 without any purchase history and was told a couple of months ago by the manager that I should be getting the call between September and December this year. Fingers crossed 🤞.
I know its 2024, but I 100% never want my Batman to transition to a Batgirl! Each to their own though 😘 A much more interesting fact is that Rolex and Tudor will not service a watch that is not on its correct as sold bracelet/strap. They will insist on you buying a new bracelet/strap from them.
@@BrendanBoswell Nor is poor basic English unless it's not a primary language. If that's the case, I would appreciate being corrected and the poster may feel the same.
As a walk-in, in 2018 I "walked-off" with a black-black GMT-II and at that time the high demand was for the Batman instead. The Bruce Wayne hype is fascinating to "watch" (pardon the puns)
I don’t know how truthful that is when it comes to not being able to order bracelets. My AD kinda allocated me a sprite for this year, they told me not to worry about which bracelet it comes on because they claim they can the jubilee for me if needed. I was told this last week by the owner of the AD.
To the person asking about servicing watches: I paid $850.00 in 2023 to have a Rolex serviced. It was the first time it had been serviced in 13 years. I recently met someone who has a 20 year old DJ that’s never been serviced. Although it’s good to plan for the insurance cost, I’d say that service cost are probably not worth considering. As you said Tony, and every watch maker has told me, it really doesn’t need a service it if there isn’t anything wrong.
There is no such thing as a waiting list for the Pepsi. They either pull it out of the vault or they don’t. Since it’s in heavy demand by the super rich they will either pay lip service and ‘put you on a list’ or simply say they haven’t got one in stock and haven’t seen one in years. A heavy hitter purchaser could get one on a spontaneous walk in.
Agree 100%. I witnessed my AD tell countless walk-ins there was nothing available yet I was picking up my root beer that waited all of 30 minutes to see if it was available. I also picked up a watch for my wife on the fly in the same transaction. Got to choose between green dial OP or sunray blue dial.
@@badformtommy it’s the only way they can protect themselves from the flipper army. If Rolex find out they are opening the gates on hyped models that are resold immediately into the secondary market they could lose their Rolex account in days. So they are trained to tell strangers little white lies.
But they're not protecting anyone, they're the ones selling to the flippers. How else are there brand new Rolex models in grey market windows, still fully stickered?
Missing out any mention of 'Gold' in the title/thumbnail again lol. Gold has been available for years. Guessing you will be doing a Daytona available to buy now as a new customer next? 🔮
@@BrendanBoswell It's great when you be you ; ) I think you said my favourite quote of all time: That a date window should only be seen when you want to see it. Live long and prosper buddy 🤘
I’ve seen the all yellow gold on jubilee and it’s available today. It really is something special. The GMTs do nothing for me particularly and the super hyped Pepsi (as well as the super prime Daytona) do absolutely nothing for me. Funny how that goes.
Did my EoI on a Rootbeer about 5 weeks ago, after being told they were relatively easy to get. Time will tell I guess. I was also told by another AD the bi-metal GRNR was pretty much available straight away. Having tried both on at the same time it’s Rootbeer all the way for me. The yellow gold numerals on the black/grey bezel are just too yellow. Can’t get on with them at all.
@@pmh7285 Got the call today from the same boutique. Had a steel domed DJ36 from them in Dec 2020 and Explorer II last August, plus a few other group purchases, but not sure if this swayed it for me.
In 54 years I’ve never purchased a unworn Rolex ⌚️ from an AD, I have had polite experiences from ADs & been offered a watch, but I have excepted I will only purchase from a trusted Grey Market Dealer.
@@BrendanBoswell everywhere. Hodinkee Radio announced it on their podcast after this years' watches and wonder...Rolex now lets you buy the other bracelet for your watch from your AD.
That GMT super case - the fat lugs! Nobody is talking about the fat lugs! I wonder when Rolex will slim those lugs in the Sub style? We demand a 41mm version.
Keep posting these lovely videos Do you know Rolex is launching cufflinks soon, solid 18k gold amazing stuff I have seen them in Flash and have photos of all of them!!
£4,500 Any style or any colour Do you want to make a video on it?! That will be good content for your next video Give me your email ID I will send you pictures 👌🏽
Never say never the world is a mess rite now and the American election coming up I feel you will be able to get these hard watches in the next few months
