I’ve gotten swimmers ear 3 times in 2 years (one of them resulted into a ear infection) and I noticed 3 main stages before you see a doctor 1. It hurts a bit when you press on the ear 2. You feel a bubble which makes you not hear as well but you can still pop the ear but it usually reforms and there is constant pain usually mild and just an annoyance 3. You no longer can pop the bubble and without a medication to ease the pain for a few hours it’s really painful until it either pops or it becomes an ear infection Just so you know I’m not a doctor this is just my personal experience please don’t take this as advice unless a doctor confirms this

I'm going through it right now and at first it was some minor irritating ear pain but ive had that before so I wasnt worried....untill 2 days later when the side it was on stated to hurt like a stabbing pain and swell and also stiffen my jaw. The pain is sooooo bad at its peak but pop 2 ibfrofen and it almost completley takes it away for aboht 4 1/2 hpurs
Going thru this as I type. My left side of my ear is swollen. It hurts to the touch and even when I open my jaw. Went to see Doctor and he confirm I have an infection. I was given "Neomycin and Polymixin B Sulfates and Hydrocortisone Otice Solution, USP" is drops for my ears. I hope to recover soon. Never had this before in my life.
Currently going through this! It’s the worst! Ugh! 😣 it’s only in my right ear so I can’t sleep on my left side or I feel the discharge sliding inside my ear! Horrible horrible! I feel like I have all the major symptoms associated!
if u got this please go to the doctor right away, don't do home remedy. only do home remedy AFTER u went to the doctor. the doctor will know to surpress the pain until your ear fixed itself. the pain is fkd up man!
It was my first time with this extreme pain I had to go to the hospital because of I could not sleep. All I would do I cry and the swelling is bad!!! This is my 8th day and my hearing is coming back slowly
Im 30year old black male, ive been swimmimg since i was 5. Never in my life heard of swimmers ear. Never ever ever heard of this shit. My ears started hurting about 2 days after swimming. Im pissed because this has never happened and im comfused as to after a thousands swimmimg sessions im my life, this swimmers ear popped up out of nowhere on me.

I took out the backyard inflatable pool took a couple dunks underneath the water and two days later I was dying. My right ear was hurting like hell. I couldn’t sleep the pain was too severe. Then the pain spread to the left ear. 😭
I've been suffering with an OUTER EAR INFECTION (unbearable inner ear pain 😭) for 5 days before I went to an ENT doctor. After the check-up, she prescribed me CLOXACILLIN (Oral Antibiotic), MEFENAMIC ACID (Anti-inflammatory), and OTOBIOTIC PLUS (Topical Antibiotic). • Cloxacillin (every 6 hours / 4x a day - for 7 days) • Mefenamic Acid (twice a day - for 5 days) • Otobiotic Plus (4 drops to the affected ear before bed time - for 10 days) It cured my infection and this UNBEARABLE PAIN. I have this bs right now, it isn’t that bad tho. I’m in the Bahamas on det at the moment (I’m in the navy) and I went snorkeling after work, came to my barracks went to sleep that night woke up the next day with hella ear pain. It’s very very uncomfortable
If y’all have swimmers ear you need to get like a tote and a pillow then law down and have the ear that hurts above the ground your laying on and have the top half of your head of the pillow that’s on the tote leave for 30 mins to a hour
When the doctor looks in your ear they won’t see your eardrum it a big indicate that it’s swimmers ear cause with a middle ear infection the doctor should be able to see it but not this

If you have water in your ear should you not go swimming if you have water in your ear? If you got water in your ear how long will it take for the water to drain out of your ear?
Oh and now I have another question to ask you or maybe I have two more questions questions to ask you. But probably just one but maybe two. If you put swimmers ear drops in your ear how long will it take for the ear drops to drain out. Oh and If you put swimmer’s ear drops in your ear but there’s no water in your ear is that not good or is it okay and it will on longer be in your ear later on and nothing will happen to your ear? Because you see I took a shower last night and I think some water got in my ear and mom put some swimmers ear drops in my ear this morning. But she think I’m imaging it. But I might not be. So if you put simmer’s ear drops in your ear and there’s no water in your ear nothing will happen. The simmer’s ear drop will no longer be in your ear later on and your ear will be just fine and your hearing with that ear will be just the same and your ear will be a okay?
Well, you don’t have to put drops in after a shower. You see, so basically the water isn’t causing the irritation to the ear, it’s the different chemicals in the water. So don’t worry about the drops after taking a shower. I recommend buying alcohol drops from Walmart. So every time your in a public pool, after put some alcohol drops in, which drys out the ear completely so no water stays in the ear.
Well the stuff that my mom put in my ear did say showering on it and unfortunately I stuck my finger in my ear afterwards. Oh and by the way I’m glad you told me that you water takes 5-6 days to drain out of someone’s ear because I’m supposed to go to the beach next week and I was afraid about getting more water in my ear and becoming deaf with it afterwards and I don’t want that to happen at all! I’m supposed to go to a beach house with members of my family on August 10th and just today I got concerned about more water going in my ear and making my ear go deaf and it’s probably not going to happen because you told me that it takes 5-6 days for the water to drain out. I got so concerned about becoming deaf with one ear but maybe by the time my family and I go to the beach water will no longer be in my ear. So dose water aka fluid eventually come out wether you put drops of something in your ear or not, and like you said will it only take 5-6 days for the water to drain out of my ear? This is my 4 th day I can’t hear and I have intense fluid pressure buildup in my ear it feels like getting stabbed every 2 seconds I honestly don’t know if I’ll make it to the end on the infection I want to remove my ear so bad
