I knew about Sobibor but not this one. Thank you for this captivating historical story Dr. Felton. My grandpa was a WW2 veteran. I asked him once what happened in the war. He paused a moment and then said, "Anything you can imagine happened in the war"... he had tears in his eyes when he said it over 40 years after the end of the war. He was involved in the liberation of a concentration camp. Sadly, I don't know which one.

As George Orwell said at the outbreak of WW2, 'pacifism is objectively pro-facist'. By that he meant that anyone refusing to fight on principle was inadvertently aiding the Nazi war effort. Of course we should always aim to settle things peaceably, but sometimes humanity just has to unite in order to destroy its worst creations by force.

The film "Shoah", by the French director Claude Lanzmann, contains an interview with one of the Treblinka SS guards, Franz Schomel. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Franz_Suchomel. He agreed to be interviewed in the 1960s, provided it was not recorded, after he served four years for his role in exterminating 700,000 people at Treblinka. Lanzmann surreptitiously filmed the interview. In it Suchomel sings the Treblinka camp song, and then comments, with a smirk, "No Jew knows that song." I thought I had a good grasp of the Holocaust and World War II history, having studied it at university. But each one of your videos gives new details that greatly vivify the story with a unique perspective.

@@CB-py1xh Accuracy is important as gross exaggerations like the example above give room for deniers to make claims. Cambodia's pre Pol Pot population was 8m. So impossible to kill 80m.

I sometimes pause the videos and type out my little observations...about some trivial point of militaria, weapons, or tactics from my experience...Then I un-pause, listen, and start to get a partial sense, maybe, of the absolute gravity of the situations that Mark is describing. These last few videos have struck me hard, the Warsaw uprising and the resistance in the camps...the hopeless struggle and the struggle against hopelessness. This is history that I've read and studied for over 40 years now. But sometimes in the analysis of the campaigns, discussing the specifications of equipment, and debating the decisions of the commanders, I perhaps almost forget this part for a while....These Nazi bastards....This is what institutionalized racism looks like...Never again, people, never again.

@Fabian Kirchgessner even now in the UK, we are far from perfect. I commend RGB's observation on the horror we are trying to understand, and your comment Fabian carries a lot of weight. Let us condemn the criminals but let us make sure we are not criminals ourselves, even in a small way.

The racism in America is becoming more accepted and it is nauseating thinking about the catastrophies that lie in wait. America is not invincible and one day we will feel the agony of the military occupation we love to laugh about. Golden rule: treat others the way you want to be treated.

First they have to cross the ocean, then they have to successfully land and control extremely violent cartel territory, they would then have to cross the border as well and pick a coast to direct the army. Great video, thanks. Reminds us of something. Whenever one group starts defining those outside the group, or a particular sub group, as being different, and they need to not be here anymore, this is what they mean. They'll deny it in all keys of the tone ladder, but this is where that leads. With pits at the back of camps, disguised as a hospital, and men with guns standing over them.
