One of the similarities that I am seeing between bone and wood is that both are structural, but very differently so. I like that thematic element and the contrast in application.

I love the concept of each of them I especially like the ideas of fungi magic being the balance between the two. I can see long ago it didn't exist but those who practiced both magical arts overtime developed a new magic all together. Or it could be the original magic with tree and bone magic being formed later by accident or study, that would be really in line with how nature forms in real life, that sounds incredibly cool to me. Love the content it's got my gears turning every time I click on your videos

Hey it's Mr. Pollard!! You inspired my love of writing in the fourth grade, it's great to see that you've been able to put more time into it yourself. This is really fantastic stuff, I'm looking forward to reading the final release!

Wow very interesting concept 😃...imagine some bone magic user giving their bone as a offering (or gift) to their lover for marriage ceremony

Here’s an interesting thought. You said that plant magic is strongest in the summer and weakest in the winter. Well what about Pine trees? Also, some root vegetables grow great in more mild winters. If pine is actually stronger, or at least viable in the winter, it would be interesting to see how the bone magic users would react. I think they would want to chop them all down and, I don’t know, cover them in fire to keep the plant magicians away. 🎄

Very nice point -- always interesting to develop the shades of detail that contradict the general rules. Evergreens are a great exception

Bone magic to me seems more accessible than blood magic. By mean you don’t necessarily need a sacrifice to own power as you can dig the ground to find skeletons while blood magic is only accessed by killing. So my question is how do people in your fantasy world deal with the dead? They cant just bury them if they are going to be used later, do they crush the skeletons? Is there rules to prevent the easy access of bones ?

That's an awesome question and maybe a reason to NOT kill an enemy and risk losing their bones...

I enjoy your videos alot Edit: I wish to make my own magic system, science as a base should do well ( like how fire changes color due to some dust put into it, or making a plasma-like air cannon with a blowtorch, giant water jug, and just plastic tubes. ) Allowing you access to those possibilities by simply connecting with the earth around you, the longer you spend meditating in a small area to something, the more power you are able to pull from that element. meditating close to extremely hot places near volcanos or a simple camp fire, you would connect with that and pull energy being able to transform air into fire. (just a random thing i thought up, im not good at this stuff)

Love that concept! I've been thinking about something similar with regard to artisans being close to their materials.

For tree magic, does it need to come from the tree directly, or could a treeling just carry a quiver full of sticks that have fallen off natually and break those when they need to?

I’m curious to wonder what would happen when a construct in your story is made of foliage and bones, life and death coming together as one entity.

Great question -- things will lead there in the story, you'll have to RAFO

dark magic like irl uses bones and hair of animals to cast spells or curses or summon demons using bones from hell where there is endless bones or trees magic summon angels and those who use it can go to heaven maybe also dragon bones can give flame like abillties or power that can be crafted into a sword that can melt other bones and incerese it's strength
