I had this radio, which I bought for mostly shortwave listening. On paper, it ticked all the boxes. I tolerated it for about a year and never got past the horrible audio quality - very thin and fatiguing. I eventually sold it, moved on to a Tecsun P-880 which had wonderful sound but all but worthless SYNC function. I recently bought a Tecsun P-680 that has a pretty solid SYNC and has really good sensitivity, though the audio is not quite as rich as the P-880 but nonetheless still very good. Having said that, I'm quite pleased with the P-680 and if I had to choose between they two, I would reach for the P-680 without hesitation. Thanks for the video, I enjoy all of them. Cheers.

Hello tom. Out of 31 receivers the pnly radio i ever sent back was the 909x. I much prefer its little brother the 405 with. Controls never before provided on a portible. Excellent on mw great on fm and more sensitive on sw than the 909. Just a better radio and 200 dollars less. Ron z. Pgh. Pa.
