@@philosborn1840 You absolutely should upgrade, Phil! It's like night and day! You'll need to find a way to secure the waist strap to the elastic loops at the front of the stomach part of the new padding since, because we don't have the Pro version, we can't undo the buckle. If you look at this video again, you'll see that I've used some 1mm pink paracord to keep it in place so that it doesn't slide around and stays above the padding! I had the same exact pinching issue prior to getting the new padding!
@@Knot-oriousTrue, the essential and the pro have different buckles. Looks like to me that the essential strap can be unloosed, slipped through the loops ( where you have the pink cord ) and then reinserted back through the two metal loops. I think it would look a lot more sanitary
@@philosborn1840 Negative. The end of the strap is folded over and bar tacked so that it can't slip through the buckle. So I had to improvise with some 1mm pink paracord to ensure that they would stay in place. I wish I had sacrificed another $100 or whatever for the Pro, but at the time I simply couldn't afford it and I had to pull the trigger before I spent what I saved up on something less fun than a new saddle lol First world problems, brother! I could be wrong about the buckle, but I'll give it another look-see later on.
For sure! With my previous padding, my harness used to pinch my abdomen when I was climbing. Now that's an issue of the past! I am much more comfortable. I can't wait to film new content in the coming months and to go on some rec climbs with this new padding!
I've honestly never tried the Monkey Beaver, but I hear it's the pinnacle of comfort when it comes to harnesses/saddles! I just don't like how you can't run two bridges on it with how it comes stock and the lower D hardware is tiny! I love my Treemotion, but I do plan on getting the MB suspenders at some point when I start climbing with a saw again! Thanks for your comment!
@philosborn1840 Doubles bridges is where it's at right now in tree climbing. You can use both together for some redundancy, or you can do, as I often do, run two separate systems (or two parts of one system) on each bridge independently! After owning a double bridge saddle, I could never go back to a single bridge saddle! 😁
