So from my understanding, these guys are passive, but can be hit multiple times for a chance to drop their pinecones, which allow you to grow mini creeper like minions. They can also be armed to blow up by using a flint and steel, and disarmed with a water bucket. Suggestion: they can be befriended by giving them multiple bone blocks. Then they will drop their pinecones naturally every now and then, and troopers spawned will naturally be loyal to whoever befriended the treeper and picked them. Also, maybe make it so the treepers turn a bit slower to show just how massive they are. These mobs you have shown off are all very cool. And I think treepers are one of the best tree based mobs I have seen.
@@boi7316 This couldnt be done because the idea of their concept is that theyre an ancient creeper. The update this guy going to be included is a ancient creature focused update. Which also the reason why treeper is in "Old Growth" Taiga.
I like how this person goes around exploring with fully prepared iron armor and torches but has only an axe and shield in the second hotbar slot, not to mention that they seem to carry a full stack of bone meal on their person at all times for some mysterious, perhaps nefarious purpose. They terrify me almost as much as the Treeper does. The fear of the unknown is overpowering.
I always loved the idea of tree monsters because of how well they can just blend in, you never know if they’re gonna kill you or not or if they’re even there
I think this mob need a bit of visual and sound refining in term of when sound display regarding steps, the visual of when it is on fire, because ir doesnt look lile they are. But otherwise a very unique and fun mob! I wonder if there are more of it.
I think them using the flint and steel is like whenever you use flint and steel on regular creepers, making them explode instantly. But the treeper I guess, arms itself to explode? and then you can defuse it with a water bucket
That's what I'm saying, this has some heavy medieval folklore sort of vibes but in a very original way. I wish Minecraft would've gone in this direction
@@pokechimp1544 they almost had something interesting with the sniffer but it became a niche mob that few players will see and it's just a... decoration finder.
This is what Minecraft should have, more fantasy like creatures that revolves around the natural world more than going full archeology and ancient chambers
none of the other species mobs interest me quite like this one and the cruncher. before it really felt like “this is the glim glorp mob and if you feed them garn seeds you can have them follow you for 5 seconds” but the idea of a mob living in the forest mimicking the trees until revealed is super cool to me. reminds me of the treeguards from don’t starve
"Glim glorp mob" Is kinda sums up what species mod about tbh.Its a silly mod about silly mobs, treeper and cruncher is also kijda silly in their own way.
Suggestion: If a Treeper stays burning for too long, it will detonate. A slow buildup of noise will come before the explosion, along with the holes in the bark increasingly glowing green. Pretty significant explosion radius, though more wide than tall. Arrow-like pinecones will shoot out in random directions, and pinecones that come in contact with soil (So any type of dirt/grass except coarse dirt), will plant themselves. (And if a Treeper can "die" in any other way, it will also detonate) Those pinecones which were planted, will of course grow into troopers. But 1 singular Olden Pinecone will also shoot out anytime a Treeper explodes. An Olden pinecone will always shoot out upwards, not straying too far from the explosion, so pretty close. Furthermore, An Olden Pinecone will fall/shoot through leaves, bounce off cobblestone, and bounce off wood logs, almost guaranteeing the Olden Pinecone will plant itself. It will still need to come in contact with soil to plant itself like the Ancient Pinecones. Overtime, an Olden Pinecone will grow into a Treeper. Now, how does a Treeper create more of itself then? If it only shoots out 1 Olden Pinecone, it won't be able to dupelicate. And that's right, because when the world loads, the amount that spawn is all that's gonna spawn. Only way to get more if they're aren't any currently alive Treepers, is to explore unloaded chunks. And that's because Treepers shouldn't have a growing population. Because like trees, they're timeless, yet eternal. Never progressing, they're just existing. And so, the population will persist, not grow. Wish we could have actual formatting in comments, like bold lettering and such, but eh.
Treeper? Aww Branch. So we back in the pines Got our axe swinging from side to side side- side to side This task a grueling one Hope to make some charcoal tonight night night charcoal tonight
I love it but I wish the baby didn't just die y'know? maybe it scares stuff away bc it LOOKS like a creeper, but I'd hate for the poor baby to just die on the spot :(
This is super cool, reminds me of Whispy woods from Kirby, would be cool if the treeper actually dropped explosive apples if the player stands underneath them.
I had a dream with a similar idea a while ago, except instead if being a fake tree thats actually a giant creeper its a 2x3 wall of snow with a creeper face that stalks you
i would love something like this added to mnecraft, although a bit more refined, like finding a way to get rid of the weird rotaion thing mobs do(probably a animation) it just screams tolkien/medieval folklore i love it
This is exactly the kind of mob Minecraft needs. Most of the mobs Mojang have been adding recently are either too safe or too niche, but the treeper looks amazing, feels natural and vanilla, and adds quite a bit in terms of being only one mob.
Can you add a variant of this where the creepers freeze into the same grid as normal blocks when you look near them, blending in with normal trees? And some of them be hostile? Either way, awesome mod!
I absolutely love it, but I think there should be some way to anger it? like, if you hit it too many times, it gets mad and goes after you? Even if that is never added, it’s an amazing concept
