Thank you Graeme for getting our Gracie aka 812 back to good health and thank you for all the help and advice you have given us with our channel. We have loved documenting life here on the farm since lockdown started and we couldn’t go to school any more. Who knew how much goes on here every week! You show the sexy side of hoof trimming. I was trimming last week, outdoors in a gale of wind. One of the cows pissed constantly. Needless to say, I was in the firing line.

Not only are you good at your job, but you're also a great instructor! I didn't realize just how much you've taught me until I watched a different hoof trimming video the other day. There was so much that was handled poorly, and I felt bad for the cow. I'm so glad there are people like you out there making a difference!

Graham, you and "Cragieboy" are my favorite "bovine pedicurists". I especially appreciate how you two perform your stonectomies, (removal of stones from cows' hooves). Disturbed Pyro probably more like a small tiny amount of pressure being removed. While it’s same thing as nails is dead like hair just very tough like a tusk so there isn’t much feeling in their hooves.
@@CowgirlGoneJumper oh ok. Yeah I know nothing about maintaining cows. I thought the hooves could grow into the skin like a hangnail, causing the cows pain? I also thought that if their hooves are overgrown it can cause them to walk incorrectly, causing other problems?
Disturbed Pyro Well what you said is correct BUT like the other person said they don’t really feel their hooves that much. Sort of like our fingernails, you can feel when they ripped off or ingrown because they’re affecting the skin on/around them but you can’t actually feel that nail itself.
I forgot how much pain she was in when we started following her care. To she how good she is doing now with your help and farmers it brilliant. You and Craig keep up good work and keep filming I’m fascinated. Thank you guy
I yelled out loud "YAY!" when I saw Gracie's rear right foot all better! I'm sure her left one will be healed on your next visit. I oddly enough can say I'm so hella proud of Craig. He's learned and is still learning so much and already shows hella skill. I wish him and his family the utter best the world can give. I really hope he gets to see this.
So pleased with Gracie's update to be honest I was worried she wouldn't make it and respect to the farmer who didn't cut his losses with her he showed faith in Graham and look at Gracie now..a completely different cow..that first time seeing her broke my heart 💔🐄 because she was in too much pain to even put her left rear foot to the floor..well done Graham a brilliant job..

Thank you so much for updating her story for us!! She looks so much like a dairy replacement heifer I had as a kid that I got attached and was really wondering if she made it through!! You and the farmers have done a wonderful job with her!! Yeah Gracie!
That book looks amazing!! I severely hope that you can get your books into schools (when they're back to normal) because it shows proper welfare for animals, and could be the stepping stone for some kids to want to be in the same profession as our dear Hoof GP. Glad Gracie is well on her way to being fully recovered. She's walking so well now!

I'm so happy to see lovely Gracie doing so well, and walking so much better. I don't know much about cows, but her eyes seem brighter and her coat shinier too. I'm guessing she's eating better now she isn't in as much pain. Well done xx
When I went to a highland festival a few months ago, I wore my cow shirt. Someone stopped me and said he loved my shirt and whose plaid that was. Good to know it's your family's plaid. Glad to see Gracie.

@@thekatt... me too Katt. But he is growing so much so fast. We may not be able to keep him to ourselves anymore. We just have to keep supporting him and be prepared to let him go when its time. I'm trying to prepare for this possible eventuality but it'll hurt all the same. I will take joy in having him while we do.

It’s amazing how much we land mammals rely on our feet! And we take them for granted until they hurt so much we can’t stand! Bless you for helping all these poor bovine people out (they really really can’t do anything about it themselves!)

I finally watched this on June 1st. I really needed a pick me up, and this gave me the warm fuzzies!❤️ Thank you for a glimpse of sanity in a world gone crazy. I go to work (a nurse) and come home. I am still social distancing from my family. I will wear my Gracie t-shirt and give her a virtual hug as she hugs me. ❤️🐮
So much to love in this video! The best part for me was seeing Gracie looking so good-not just her hoof, but her whole body. She looked so terrible when I first saw her, I really scared she wouldn’t live. She was so skinny and looked like she’d just given up-her spirit seemed to be broken. Now she looks fat and sassy, and that makes me so happy. Love you guys!
Gracie is looking fantastic! She's put a bit of weight back on and is walking so well! The work that you have done together with her farm has obviously paid off.

Oh my goodness! Gracie is looking so good! She's at a healthy weight, and she's walking almost normally. Oh that's so fantastic! I think you've just about got it. Wouldn't surprise me if it's only a couple more visits before she's not hobbling at all.
This is my first time here, also first time seeing a cow hoof trimmed. It ... Looks like you're wood carving or at least the shavings coming off looked a lot like wood chips, to me anyway.

This is wonderful and my faith in humanity is restored. Every Animal even the ones we eat Have to be actually cared for. Animals have as many feelings as us humans do, they have the right to be peaceful and happy. Thank you for caring and helping them💜❤️💜
to be fair just watching you trim the hoofs are rewarding as a viewer hell i've learned alot from just watching and your work seems nice and i am also glad to see people like you are keeping cows healthy and comfortabel and that you dont always have to trim lame cows that just means you are doing amazing work

I wake up every morning to your videos I must have watched some videos 10 times over lol I just enjoy how you present yourself as a man, father,and husband. Love the Scotland scenery absolutely beautiful I'm originally from Portugal I wish I was back home to enjoy the beautiful country side views. But anyway just wanted to let you know that I have also watched other hoof trimming videos and i just see the complete difference in the way you handle your cows the love,and care you display for these animals it saddens me just to see how some of the guys handle them you can see how frightened these cows look. But anyway I'm not going to mention names,or degrade people I'm sure you have seen most of those videos. Any way keep up the wonderful job you have a gift, and talent.
