Speaking as a person with a science background, I absolutely love how everyone keeps turning to the scientist character for answers. In every other monster movie ever made ever they'd have had her spout some hand waving nonsense. But here she very correctly says, "I don't know!"
@voidseeker4394
@voidseeker4394 Год назад
Also love that all of them were smart, and take logical desicions, like real people. Some of them made a mistake, but it was natural, due to surprise, panic or lack of knowledge, unlike other movies where characters were doing stupidest things for the sake of the plot and blood. And yes, Rhonda is very good scientist. People trusted her opinion, yet she is not all-knowing, and not afraid to admit it.
@Diraphe

It's also nice how they don't turn the gun/prepper characters into gag easy kills like so many movies do. "Hur-dur you like guns but they didn't help you".

@@Palitato That comment didn't age well, since all the so called "conspiracy theorists" keep getting proven right about everything we said and everything we questioned, while the "experts" have had to walk back pretty much everything they said and all the demands they made of us. And I say this as someone with a science background too. But there is a big difference between being scientifically informed and just doing what you're told all the time without ever questioning anything. And no science has ever wanted to censor or silence anybody. Only frauds and liars benefit from doing that.

Everyone should go back and watch the intro scene again. Val jumps on the truck and screams Stampede! Earl (in his brown sleeping bag) falls out of the truck. I really do think this should be taught in film schools. It hits that perfect balance between action, characters and storytelling. We know just enough about these characters to be invested in their survival without having to rely on stereotypes or quirks to inform the characters. They are well rounded and not just there to be victims, the movie has one of the highest survival rates of most monster movies. The action is so well paced, well executed, nothing drags on too long, the script and the story has no fat on it, no tangents or improved scenes that they had to fit together later, everything that happens is set up and paid off. For me personally I don't live anywhere as remote as perfection, but I do live in a rural area and it's so refreshing to see rural people not portrayed as bumpkins and buffoons. They may not be the smartest people, but they can problem solve, think on their feet and adjust when things go wrong.

I love this movie because all the characters make smart decisions. Believably smart decisions. Too many scary movies have the characters make dumb decisions to create drama, but in this movie the monsters are formidable enough that the characters have to be in top shape to survive, so when you root for them you feel really good when they succeed due to their own cleverness.

One of my favourite "horror" movies. It's more like a cool monster movie than anything else. It's got a great cast, great humor and just an all around "cool" monster that had some thought put into it. Also really good effects. The graboids are sensitive to sound, they quickly "run" away from any noise too loud for them to bear. So when Val threw the bomb behind the last one, he made it speed up to exit the cliff face and fall. Also the little girl (Mindy) in this acted in Jurassic Park. Ariana Richards.

I too love reality for that reason, people are predictable compared to the imagination, especially on your own. That's why I like reaction channels with real humans; it reminds me of watching a video as a kid with loved ones to ground me, until my health took me away from them. To give a small explanation Heather and Burt are stereotypical Preppers (thus the Arsenal in the basement) which is why they were being teased in the market. the Blue machine that you saw Heather start up just before the grabboid showed up is called a tumbler, its used for polishing and cleaning shell casings for reloading and they are especially noisy. Hope that clarifies!

They put the empty brass cartridges in the bowl with cleaning media made of corn cob or walnut shells that look like gravel, then turn on the vibrating machine and the cob or shell pieces clean the brass. Great reaction Bed Bugs. There are more Tremors movies in case Carly wants to sit in for another spooky movie.

I've watched all of them and have no regrets, it's a fun series and you can tell how much Michael Gross enjoys playing the role even as they clearly run out of budgets and ideas. Hey, you two! To answer the question about what that last bomb did. I believe he used it as a distraction. The creatures don't have eyes. They sense vibrations. So basically, he used the bomb for its vibrations - to stir the creature's senses into overdrive. It didn't have enough time to recover from its dazed state, so when he leaped out of the way, it couldn't even notice because its sensors were still stirring up like crazy.
