Simple answer? It's human nature to fear the unknown. That's why kids are afraid of the dark, scared of a monster under the bed, or one in the closet. That's why, when my Goddaughter was having nightmares about monsters under the bed, and whatnot, I plopped $5000 of night vision equipment on her head. I told her I'd cover her, (I didn't actually have a gun, but she thought I did. In case a monster popped out.) She inspected every nook and cranny of the room with night vision until she had satisfied herself that it was monster-free. All with "Uncle Jack" "covering" her. Bingo-bango, no more nightmares.
Cuz at the age of a kid, our imagination is so high that everything to us is real, it's only when we become teens that we learn it's just a movie and not reality
Dude, I love this movie. The following tremor movies failed in comparison. As kids we used to just from furniture to furniture afraid the floor might grab us after watching this.
As a child I was thinking how boring that place would be for a kid and how scary this situation would be. As an adult I feel like I would love that location and I would would have fun if this happened
As a kid I scared myself and got stuck on a picnic table in my back yard. I swear one of them things was in the ground and I wouldn't make it to the back door of the house without getting eaten. I was a dumb child.
Such an underrated movie - campy but worth watching. #2 had it's parts of glory (especially the part about Bert being prepared... but "penetration" of the big ones vs. lack of volume on the smaller ones, epic) but all the rest definitely went downhill. Most sequels have the same issues.
I thought this movie was going to totally suck and I had to be dragged to go see it but it turned out to be great and I loved it. I went and saw it again by myself a week later. True story.
