the mesh shoes were BIG in the 00s in the US, at least where I lived; I think they were in peak popularity around 2004-2005. we used to get dress code violations for wearing them in middle school because shoes without heel straps/coverage weren't allowed 😂

I’m not even 30 yet and I already see so many trends coming back from when I as in elementary and middle school, it’s so weird 😅 (so many used to wear boat shoes for example and I still remember having denim clogs when I was like 11)

i have the same problem with clogs and some other summer shoes!!! you should try the doc martens ones, they look amazing and have that thing in the back like crocs so you don't have to squeeze your toes trying to not make them fall

I loveeeee loafers and boat shoes, but I've never found a pair that's actually comfortable (aka did not give me a series of blisters from the hard leather). What's people's secret to wearing these? 😭

the mesh slippers were what my grandma and just old ladies in general used to wear at home and stuff all the time when i was growing up and i remember one time my friends saw me wearing them at home and they made so much fun of it lol i can’t believe it’s a fashion trend now

I didn’t go to my prom either. I didn’t really care, but I thought my future self might regret it one day so I mustered up courage and asked a boy classmate. he said “yes” at first but then later declined. i was horrified at first but I’ve never looked back and thought I missed out on something.😊
