The topic at the 55:00 min mark brings to mind the phrase- “you cannot truly call yourself peaceful unless you are capable of great violence, if you are not capable of violence you are not peaceful you are harmless”.
@@channeldos Care to substantiate that? The entire idea of the statement is that someone who is capable of doing terrible things, but restrains it, is "peaceful." Another word is "meek." (The original word meaning something like "those who have their swords and know how to use them but elect to keep them sheathed.") If someone is not capable of restraining their own violence when it isn't appropriate, they're not peaceful, they're tyrannical. If someone cannot generate great violence, they're not peaceful, they're harmless. What part of this is overanalyzing? I personally ponder this kind of shit very often, but I didn't see any other private citizens showing up to a mass shooter threat with a firearm/medical, sometime last year. (Local mall). Are you saying just because I ponder this, I wouldn't be able to perform under duress, when I was the only person who showed up that wasn't Law Enforcement (IE, wasn't required to)? I think you're overgeneralizing to serve your own egotistical view of yourself.
If you've ever set up a warbelt for your girlfriend or japanese lovepillow, go ahead and hit that subscribe button... Warbelts are actually much older. I think the British used essentially a warbelt for a long time and the old WWII M1928 gear is essentially a big warbelt.
I will say this is good info but as a female shooter it’s better to load the hips than t!ts. Any women who actually use body armor during drills knows that the heavier the carrier is the more uncomfortable and at times painful it is to wear for extended periods of time. Padding helps…somewhat…but if any ladies are having issues with their plate carriers causing pain, remove all attached items and slowly add back until you find your particular sweet spot for weight. Keep in mind this can take weeks if not months to fine tune depending on your shooting schedule.
50:06 This is why so many manufacturers are bringing everything in house after this last year. Every company sources things from someone else and if you have one bottle neck you have to wait to ship the finished product. I've primers are the main bottleneck for ammo so that is one of the contributing factors for it being hard to find
The Kore Essentials Battle Belt has by far been the BEST duty belt I have ever worn. Micro pals webbing, 4" worth of 1/4" adjustments WHILE WEARING the belt (no fighting with Cobra buckles to adjust sizing), it is cut specifically for you and your pant measurement instead of sizes of small, med and large so it fits EXACTLY how you want it too, weather that be lose or very snug and you can go between those two at any time with no hassle and without removing all of your kit! The belt is extremely rigid due to the multi layer system having a plastic center, the nylon has a subtle sheen to it that looks very professional while wearing duty blues and is thin/light weight so it doesn't dig into your hips and back while driving. I have worn it with full duty equipment such as taser, asp, mags, 2x cuffs, pistol, keys, TQ and it holds everything perfectly. I have also worn it in conjunction with an outer carry vest so only running mags and pistol and holds everything tight to my body without having to move the buckle around or do anything crazy to get it to fit properly after removing all of the gear that was on it prior. Has been one of the best investments I have made in my 7 years on the job!
Man lm a LEO and l bought a 2 piece belt for patrol since l work 12 hour shift, l was really disappoint. You just answered my question about wearying an orion belt, l'll give it a try thanks man.
You need suspenders if you're wearing any weight on your hips. I carried a duty belt for way too many years and literally have indentations in my hip bones from it. Now whenever I wear a gun belt or tool belt I throw suspenders on, absolutely takes all the pain out of it. Still keeps your COG low, but helps distribute the load.
If you need suspenders you have too much crap on your belt LOL that's the way I look at it. I feel like a lot of people seriously overload their kit with certain things that should just be in a pack if you need that much for what your doing.
I absolutely love the eagle industries ogb belt. But I feel, from a tactical stand point, your sub load should only be for your pistol and emergencies. I.e. you have to ditch your vest. This should give your essential tools of survival. This includes ifak, multitool/knife, single mag, light, etc.
I'm willing to bet more holsters and mag pouches have broken but people just buy another. I love the warranty yall have but if I wear out my holster (which I have) after 3 years I'm not too worried about buying a whole new one as apposed to getting it warrantied (which I have also done). I'm happy to spend my money with a company that does so much for our citizens
Thats a dangerous incentive to promote. Next thing you know, you will be buying new gear every 3 months instead. Warranty is not just for the customer, it is also a great tool to incentivize quality control. Incentives are what drive human behavior more than anything. We like to feel like we are doing things for a reason, with a purpose.
@@calholli of course if something breaks , unless it’s my fault, in less than 3 months I’m going to warranty it. But if it has been years and it’s not something that is the company’s fault i’m just going to buy a new one from them if I still like the company.
Blauer makes an inner belt that is pretty fantastic. It’s not ultra stiff but makes up for it in comfortability. It stretches and has little rubber strips to keep it from rotating between belt loops and is fairly stretchy. Granted I use a safariland outer belt for work that is probably one of the most stiff so it makes up for what the inner belt lacks in that department. I wear this belt day in day out working 12 hour shifts and have zero complaints. No more circulation marks on the hips after a long day. About 20 bucks a pop. It’ll likely wear out after about 2 years but for a Velcro product that’s pretty standard I’d say. Great information in this one. Thanks for the knowledge.
Battle belts are like Subway sandwiches. Find a base (Italian herbs and cheese), figure out the environment you’ll use it in (spicy Italian), and decide what pouches will suit your needs best (lettuce, spinach, pickles, onions, and bell peppers). The dump pouch on your belt is the mayo, mustard, sweet onion to your sandwich. Also there’s my Subway order if anyone wants something new to try.
I've got an Orion that I use for work as an electrician. It's perfect for that application given its extra support and thiccness, 10/10. Use Bison as a "war belt".
My Orion and mag pouches just came in the mail Amazing how it all fit in a tiny postal box! Looks great so far, lots of fiddling to do with the pouches! Looking forward to it
Sucks that I can’t use the thigh strap in USPSA. I have to keep my Ragnarok super loose so the holster doesn’t move when I’m drawing my gun. Once again, leave it to Fudds and their ignorance to ruin things....
Or he is just doing a series of these comprehensive videos to add to the playlist. He's already done the "armor" set up-- now its the "belt" set up. Next will be the 'parachute" set up. and of course the "diving gear" set up. I can't wait for the ankle holsters myself.
I hope the new two piece belt System has an optional grip pad velcro-able belt option (like the gcode) so it can be used like a two piece belt AND an overbelt (like Orion). Also hope it has generous adjustment range (I'm 35lb into 60lb #loss goal) unlike lots of two piece belt.
Ironically the party asking for it are the same ones panic buying ARs lately. Someone should put out a nonsense bill banning Dems from buying "Assault Weapons" just to see what they'll say in response.
That bill won’t pass. It’s just a test to see what sticks. The federal government has way more to focus on at least for 2021, but I’m sure we’ll see them actually focus in on gun control/removal soon in this 4 year journey.
I like his principal with dealing with O Light I remember a whole bunch of RU-vidrs suddenly started to rave about O Light all about the same time. I did not understand as they are a Chinese company would much rather buy USA products especially since all the issues we have had with China lately
olights are great. Just because they paid people to review doesn't mean the quality is less. Easy to charge and as long as you have the cable you can use a mini solar unit to keep it charged without having to carry batteries.
If I swap shoulders--- I do the "push" -- where you keep you right hand on the trigger, and the stock is coming off of your left shoulder. It works pretty well and you don't have to swap hands
Great video 🙌🙌 Just bought some of those Mars pistol mag carriers can’t wait to try it on my blue alpha belt going to line them up just as you suggested 💪💪🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Had Blue alpha gear for a war belt for over a year now, love it, it’s holding up great and I think it’s higher quality that most of my buddy’s belts that run other brands
the blue Alpha gear belts are legit. frankly there's about 30 different awesome belt setups out there, just grab one that everyone's talking about and you'll be pretty good to go LOL
@@TREXARMS I've been trying to buy one of your chest rigs for at least a couple months. I check your web site a couple times per day. I'm signed up to receive emails when it is back in stock. Unfortunately, on the two occasions when I received those emails, it was out of stock by the time I checked your web site about 15 minutes later. As you can imagine, this is quite frustrating to a prospective customer. I would rather purchase your product, but I am shopping for a competitor's product at this point. I hope that you are able to increase your production significantly and that you can do so quickly.
@bLackstar Plus, them using their own gear is a testimony to the faith they put in it, and it is definitely one of the best marketing argument a company can make !
Great info and gives a lot to think about for building my load out. I personally am leaning towards the term "tactical load out belt" vs "war belt". Gives it a more generalized view for all of its other uses and describes the load out for the tactics you will be running. Range, hunting, airsoft, shtf grab and go, vehicle quick grab... can even pop on some pouches for the house work projects😁. Would you run any of the inner belts from a two piece as an edc belt? Came to mind as you want your grab and go gear to go on fast. Thanks for the great content and products!
I use an underbelt for EDC, its fine enough. I use a clip on sidecar holster that can come off immediately in order to then don the outer belt, swap the gun to the new holster and good to go in just a few seconds if need be. Its a good setup, especially if you take your kit on/off with some frequency.
There are videos of brand new SROs shattering after dropping on the sidewalk from waist height. Hence why Trijicon explicitly says it's for competition and should not be used for duty.
I laugh when i look at early“war belts” compared to todays. Its like at some point people looked at a Cops “duty belt” and said hmmmmmm maybe their onto something 😂
Im talking about the ones he mentioned that were completely loaded up, compared to the slim and streamlined ones now. They are just duty belts that ppl want to pretend that they invented something new.
Great vids; always informative, etc. Suggestion---depending on the item being showcased, attention to the on-screen backdrop (be it your torso, table top or whatever) will greatly enhance the viewing audience's ability to see what's going on, i.e. in this vid: gray table top with all black items being manipulated in front of your black attire often makes it very difficult to see. Just saying.
i run pistol and rifle on my plate carrier and a ifak, 2 pistol mags, one rifle mag, T-rex Ragnarok glock holster, gloves, sometimes ill fit a dump pouch on my belt.
I always thought the belt should contain just the essentials; holster, medical, dump, 2 pistol mags, and then mission specific (handcuffs, rifle mag, etc)
So HSGI makes a grip belt panel, to go as the inner belt on a 2 piece setup. Seems like getting a belt like the Ronin or eagle industries belt, then get the regular inner belt and the HSGI inner belt, would allow you to run the same outer belt in either configuration depending on garments like a jacket.
@@beattrixkiddo2725 I got one since they are local to me and I haven’t really gotten to go out and test it out too much yet. I have the Double duty/battle belt set up
@@jpcs302 how do you like the look/feel to it? I got one of their lightweight conceal belts cause John Lovell recommended. Didn’t know they had heavy duty belts. Might have to get one.
If anyone looks at comments afterwards checkout persec gear for belts their like the ronin the molle weaving is tighter and custom made to order. Dudes a freedom loving Canadian that makes some badass gear.
@16:50 You can defeat the necessity of a thigh strap by applying a rotational force to the gun while drawing with your wrist. You do this by attempting to bend your wrist inward while drawing but it does require practice to get it right. This might night work on lower drop down pistol holsters like the one that uses the Safariland quick detach module.
Seems like an unnecessary motion that will cause inconsistencies in your draw. It is however an interesting take on the draw if you are dead set against thigh straps and do it for all your draws
I like ur Notification if something is Back in Stock - only Problem. I live in Europe and the second I waking up and see at 5 am the Mail with the Notification, the Gear is already Out of Stock again. Fingers Crossed that I get ur Gear someday 🥺
My Bison gets here in a couple days. I liked the thinner inner belt cause I felt with the slimmer profile, the outer belt wouldn't be pushing a big buckle into my gut. And hopefully the rigid outer belt makes up for it. If not, I already have my Orion setup and ready to go. :)
Just got mine last week and I love it. I have a few other nice belts like a ronin and my first belt was a gcode. Gcode was pretty flimsy and I tried a few different inner belts to get around it but I prefer a much more rigid belt. Ronin is dope but I think the ferro bison is my favorite.
@@jaydubs6354 What do you think of the Ronin vs the Bison? I got the Bison in large and the outer belt was just a touch too big so I returned it. Debating whether I like that rigid strip around the center and if I want to get a Bison in medium or go with another inner/outer belt setup.
Springfield Armory got some bad press a couple years back when they supported some Illinois gun control regs in exchange for an exemption, and it became pretty widely known.
I love the work you and your team are doing... one thing, the videos are too dark. Use gray background because the major of equipment are black... wear gray shirts and/jacket... or make your table top orange... just a suggestion to work with colors to help us old guys see what you are showing. Keep up the good work!
You made the comment about choosing subdued colors on your gear to promote camouflage in a civilian/citizen context. Gunbelts and plate carriers stand out, to some degree or another, regardless of their color. What’s your threshold for going from covert to overt? Before being shot at, if we’re lucky.
There is no such thing as camouflage in public. Either your carrying concealed or not. If a gun/gear is visible, there's no color that will make it not visible.
I just got a Russian wartech light weight war belt two piece belt very solid belt I'm able to run my Glock trex arms Ragnarok holster mid ride with thigh strap, and my esstec kiwi mag pouches and my ana tactical AK taco mag pouches
I think the word you were looking for to mean “not true citizens” is Subjects. They lack agency over their own lives because they are subject to the whims of their ruler.
Whoever asked about the P320 Rag. Light Bearing with Optic, if you’re reading these comments they def have those already. The Ragnarok accepts optics by design i believe and the 320 is in there for a TLR1 should work just as well with shorter lengths than full size slides since the use the light for retention.
I like the I like the low ride ubl. But I have a 7ft wingspan with a short torso. Mr. Orangutan here finds it difficult and uncomfortable drawing from higher riding holsters.
Interesting take on eye dominance. I guess the way you use the non-dominant eye through the red dot is like the old style occluded eye sights (Maybe before your time).
In the Law Enforcement world, we call the belt with the Loops around it that goes through the loops of our pants, our Trouser belt. And in order to keep the gear belt from sloshing around and as secure as it can be, we use Belt Keepers. Just so you know the proper Vernacular for next time. 😉
Lucas, I get the appeal of 5.45 but most of us poors can't afford that particular chambering. Please, for the love of God, do a 7.62x39, if you work on AK stuff. I already dig your products, and I get needing to focus at times of prototyping. Just my opinion you'd have more success starting with a .30 AK setup.
Since almost everyone I saw is running rifle mags on their "battle belt", with or without the plate carrier, I'm very curious about the rifle speed reload position. Is it actually faster to reload from the belt compared to the plate carrier (due to scientific reasons) or just common training habits?
In my extremely limited experience, I can get a rifle mag much faster out of a belt pouch than a plate carrier. The ergonomics of reaching down and freeing the mag provides a much better trajectory to the magwell. I don’t have any trouble getting mags out of my plate carrier, but it’s much less ergonomic and the angle is a little funky. I also find myself having to work a little harder to get around the sling when I reload from my carrier as opposed to my belt.
