My 28 yr old son sent me a link to this song with no words attached, He passed 6 days later. I listen to it everyday sometimes it plays in my head until I finally fall asleep & wake up to it playing like it never skips a beat while i rest. For me it brings solace even if just for a minute I am at one with my son's spirit. Great job to all behind this work of art✨
This literally moved me to tears, this beautiful song Trey wrote for his dying best friend, sang with Sue, AND Derek on slide. This IS the definitive version of this song, Susan totally owns it, and the harmonies with the TAB singers, it's perfect. I am a huge Phish fan, but I'd rather they not play this, it benefits greatly from the backing vocals from the TAB crew, also the Ghosts of the Forest live band. Just wow, as always, thank you Trey.
@@noahlindamood2769 Chris Cottrell who was one of Trey's closest friends since he was a teenager. If you watch "Between Me and My Mind" you see Trey and Chris together while Chris was sick. Ghosts of the Forest was written for him.
One of the most beautiful things I have heard in long time. Trey’s singing and song writing have matured beyond anything I could have imagined, and my god Susan is incredible. Derek ain’t bad either!
Josh E isn’t it magnificent to have witnessed his growth into the master artist of wisdom and beauty he is becoming. If that’s what gets you off, the best is yet to come from him...
@@kip4966 that’s pretty dang funny....and spot on Kip. Phish def has that fan base that are the kind of people that REALLY get off on the purely absurd, hedonistic, sophomoric, blindly raging, fire house guitar sound space of their musical offerings. But it’s never been my bag man, though that’s for sure. Kids, if anyone try’s to tell you Phish already peaked in the 90s and all that’s left is Treys decline into elderly soft rock - feel good that you know they don’t know what they’re talking about and go to the show!
I heard this for the first time on SiriusXM (Jam On) this morning on the way into work. I could not get out of the car. I had to see if there was a video. Speechless.....
After having watched this several thousand times (LOL!), I have to say, this is the definitive version of this song. Absolutely perfect, from Susan's voice and harmonics, the TAB singers are amazing, Trey and Susan singing together, Duane killing it on slide, and Trey with the closing solo, everytime I watch this and hear it, when it gets to the end, I'm thinking, OMG, please keep playing, this is awesome. And the rain in the background, wow, how beautiful.
29 thumbs down? This for me is the definitive version. "Brothers and sisters, we do not want you to be uninformed about those who sleep in death, so that you do not grieve like the rest of mankind, who have no hope." -- 1 Thessalonians 4:13
Who gives a thumbs down to this? 🤷🏻♀️ it’s one of the greatest collaborations for this awesome Trey jam. Thank you for writing this whole album. My husband, our baby and I love to listen to it. ❤️❤️❤️
This is the definitive version. I dont want this song to end. "For the needy will not always be forgotten, Nor the hope of the afflicted perish forever." -- Ps. 9:18
Well, that’s it for me guys. If Jammys 2019, that’s the performance I want to remember. Can’t wait to see this get its due. 35 comments 11/2019, 40k views. Good year in Phish, this bit hiiiits
That would be a helluva show to livestream. They’ve got it at the Phish website but it doesn’t say how much $$. Anyone know, generally, how much it costs to stream a full show? Yeah, I’m a Boomer, and damn proud of it. 😂
Made some animation innovations the other day, can I make a music video with you? Cryptically humorous 3d characters + jetting surreal imagery + sketching on paper on my mouse pad makes music I can use if not in the song in the making of the music video.
