i've seen phish almost 100x dating back to 92. i fall in and out of love with phish. i like santana - i've seen him 4-5x. they are special when together no doubt. trey loves carlos and carlos loves miles and jimi like me. glad trey got to play with one of his main living heroes- h deserves it

I can imagine the show finishing, the crowd gone, the doors of the venue locked, and they're still playing, just like this, and now singing to each other and no one in particular, "That's the way I FEEL...."
Was at the show, front row, stage left, Carlos literally walked in from the alley from behind the stage carrying his guitar and amp. He stood there while they plugged his gear in and next song they started playing. Shook both their hands as they walked off stage. What a great show and great city.
Was at this show 2003 Warfield. Carlos was the special guest one of the best concerts I've ever been to. Trey and phish music changed my life without a doubt. Thank you!!

@@ChrisMillerLiterealize this is late in the game , but since you know so much about playing , ask yourself how come John McLaughlin said Carlos has something that he and other great guitarist wish they had, that ability to touch people with his playing ,in my eyes that’s the ultimate definition of a great technical guitarist, you’ll never have it .

Still my favorite Trey collaboration. Besides like Neil Young at Farm Aid. The Derek and Trey sets were awesome, not hating, just feel like Carlos and Neil got way more relaxed and vibed way harder. Tho ,That Layla is special to me, I named my daughter after the song, seeing my basically top two guitarist kill it made them goosebumps and happy tears. I’m rambling, music is good good and subjective tho soo, yeah... this shit absolutely kills.

The DVD Phish released years ago only had Set 2 with "The Way I Feel" as a bonus track. The rest of Set 1 and the Root Down encore was not released on video.
Which DVD of Phish's? I have several, definitely not all, but I must get that one (with - according to you - the 2nd set and encore of this show, correct?). Either way, thanks for the upload!
Ahh alright you see, I thought you were implying/talking about some Phish DVD of an ACTUAL PHISH SHOW, as that is what most people would understand "the DVD Phish released" to be referring to, and that the 2nd set of this show is bonus; but regardless I misunderstood and get it now. Thanks!
gurantee he knows and has listened to them even tho they arent his fix really. He has said the reason he plays a languedoc is to be able to play any music and open bodies are traditionally for jazz so i would never rule it out. Especially with mclaughlins fusion experience
Pretty sure hes mentioned A Tribute to Jack Johnson by Miles Davis as an inspiration (which is heavy on the McLaughlin). Also I know this comment is 2 years old but since theres no real definitive answer yet i figured id mention this for anyone curious
