Hey Trey, I had a friend that had that problem. He had a guy put in a solid steel post and painted it to look like wood. The next time the dude hit it he took out the whole grill and radiator😂😂

Yes. At Lowes they sell a 1/2” thick piece of wood that sit on the post and under the mailbox. All those small holes in mailbox is where you screw mailbox to the piece of wood.

got to cut a piece of plywood the size of the bottom of the mail box. then screw the plywood real good to your post, then when you put your mailbox on it goes perfect on to your piece of plywood you cut. that's what the holes in the side of the mailbox is for. Im diggin the color

Had issues here with people throwing bricks, bottles, rocks, etc at our mailbox here….. I decided to make one. I have 1/2 inch C channel for the base and 3/16 for the sides. I then covered it all with a silver piece of flat stock roof metal. 😉. It’s been hit several times and it’s still there. Broken glass beside it now.

Always get reflecttive numbers. So easy to see at night and n place them on the post and a obvious place on your home 🏡

I deliver packages for FedEx and my route is in a rural area so sometimes they’ll have numbers posted on their mailbox with a driveway that’s a quarter of a mile long run. We’re going down a dirt road with no no address posted at the mailbox or the driveway, but on the house it is a mess trying to deliver packages to people who don’t put their address out there so Trey I agree with you put your numbers on your house put your numbers in your mailbox make sure it’s visible from the street or from the end of your driveway

Put a 4x4 and get the plastic post sleeve and put both in the ground. Then either concrete or dirt to fill in around the post. Last forever

Drill 4 holes in the bottom of mailbox and run leg bolts through bottom from the inside out and crank them down the place in the ground

Mine got hit twice. Put two steel rods in concrete on the sides with a steel plate. Snow isnt knocking it down anymore.

I swear from thumbnail saying trey has worst luck and the mailbox looks burnt. I thought lightning 🌩 hit the damn mail box bc of how it looks😂 I'm dying bc trey didn't know how make mailbox. I ain't going lie my first time I swear to God I thought about doing same thing about cutting the mailbox in back to make in flat but then it hit me what had to be done with board to fit in bottom of groves of mailbox. I've made like 30 bc I own mobile homes so it's just funny to me

I ruined a mikita impact putting a small bit like that in there, drill still works but its a phillips head forever lol, I took the drill apart and cant get it out

I think those metal ones are supposed to sit on a 2x8 which then sits on the 4x4.

Idk either id just drill sum screws n nuts maybe washers to secure it it shud b decent..or yea another piece like u cut off n just screw all them bottom holes to it on the sides 🤷‍♂️ u got options lol
