Operation Charybdis was a joint Special Activities Division and MI-6 operation to eliminate Jason Hudson, Grigori Weaver, and Alex Mason, to be taken place in 1978, 10 years after the events of Call of Duty: Black Ops. The primary goal was to terminate Mason, whom the S.A.D. deemed to be mentally unstable and became a threat to national security; Hudson and Weaver were also included as targets for termination due to their backing of Mason, thereby making them a threat to national security as well. Although it is known that CIA analyst Ryan Jackson will join the task force as adviser (due to his extensive knowledge of the targets, given he handled the reports and analysis of personnel and events concerning the trio) along with a young Special Air Service operator named Jonathan Price, nothing is known about the outcome of the mission or the fate of its participants because, as of 30 October 1978, the operation was still in the preparation phase, with Ryan Jackson's temporary field operative status only having been approved days before. It can be assumed that the mission either failed or was dissolved as the events from Call of Duty: Black Ops II show Hudson, and Alex Mason to still be alive many years after the Operation was to take place, and Hudson still employed by the CIA, using Alex Mason along with him and Frank Woods.

Don’t think anyone cares but I’ll say it anyway. Last year I revisited bo1 to play the story and stuff, collect the intels and play on veteran etc I ended up reading all them and found obviously the part where the CIA is putting together this plan to kill mason and stuff. It blew my mind and never heard anyone talk about it until now, Cold War is going to put a lot of my theories to rest and answer so many questions I have , keep up the good videos and let’s pray the game works it’s treyarc magic

I mean, he left and didn’t come back to his young and adolescent child because “oh he’ll kill Menendez for me, I’m in your corner son!” The CIA assassination was most likely the reason because I doubt Treyarch forgot what was in their game from less than 3 years ago. To be fair, they may have not thought it all out, but they put the roots there so it’s safe to be assumed.

Mason did kill Kennedy because in the second to last mission Mason says "Oswald Comprised" this could mean that Mason got away while Oswald got arrested. If you dont know there is a theory that there was a second gunman and Mason is that second gunman. He is the one that got away

@@thebutnuster What problem? He already was a lieutenant by the time the man was assigned along Cpt. Macmillan with Zakhaev's assassination. 3Arch and Activision only know the real D.O.B. of original Cpt. Price. Remember Allen (AKA Alexei Borodin)? Joseph was First Class, for sure, but still, a Private, and he was assigned by a general himself (bloody Shepherd) to go undercover, with the intention of that time, to take Makarov down. So...? My guess is, even if the operation was cancelled in the fases of planning, it would've been definitely possible that one of the members of the team to be assigned with the killing of Hudson, Mason and Woods were John Price himself. It seems to me that the mission never got out of the planning phase. I don't think it happened and they failed, or Hudson, Weaver, and Mason probably wouldn't still be in the CIA in the eighties.

Cause he was back way before that he escaped the camp in 1972 and he joined the CIA again in 1975 I'm pretty sure he was captured again in 1985 or 1986 by Menedez and in 1972 was the Russian

Yeah but he's at least 34 year old by that time so he was barely born by the time of Cold War. If anything the Captain Price who tried to assassinate Mason, Hudson, and Weaver was most likely 2019 Price's father.

Look, if this was Treyarch big brain connecting universes a full decade in advance, bravo! There is a very small wrinkle in that “Jonathan Price is our lad from MW” theory: According to details gleaned from MW (kudos to the COD wiki) Price was born a full SEVEN YEARS after all this evidence regarding the mission. From what we see, this is a case of coincidence unfortunately... would’ve been nuts if they had it in the pipelines that far back!
