Usually it's because, from what I understand at least, they're made specifically to be fun, and that's it. And because they're usually passion projects, in both senses of the word, devs will usually keep updating them because they themselves play the game a lot for.. obvious reasons
The thing about this game is that, you don't even need to be remotely interested in the fetish to enjoy it. It's a competently made platformer in its own right.
This is the problem I typically have with adult games. So many of them forget to be a fun game, and instead the gameplay just ends up as confusing filler between the adult content. I'm not asking them to be top tier gameplay experiences, but at least put in some level of effort.
I actually just bought and tried the game for the first time. I am not into the inflation fetish at all, however, this game is actually really fun and kind of cute. The mechanics work really well and it’s very colorful and lively. The only critique I have of this game is the map system and the tedious backtracking.
I have bought the game and I must say it is very good. The world is fun to navigate, controls are responsive, the risk rewards gimmick is well executed. The characters are lovely, the dialog are funny. Saying this game is erotica is like saying the Super Mario Super Show is erotica because a pornstar plays Mario.
On the other hand, it doesn't really register as erotica to you because you aren't attracted to it, I know people who do get off to it, I'm not friends with these people for reasons other than that(am grossed out by vore), but I know they exist and they fuel the market.
