Honestly, if it was made by the chef, he did a magazine quality cake right there. It was beautifully done, and layered cakes like that aren't super easy.

But in reality I actually wonder how often they have guests. They’re all poor and I can’t imagine their budget stretches to feeding guests very often!

@@debs5039I imagine they have guests over quite a bit more than you may think. They may not always be able to put together stuff like this for them, but they’ll make a nice meal and put out the best tableware, dress nice, and always offer guests more, even if they themselves haven’t had much. This is true of many cultures, in fact. You see this in places all over the Mediterranean, Caribbean, South America, Africa, Southeast Asia, plus Mexico! There are exceptions, but this is the general truth to most of the world. Each culture has its own ways of going about it, its own traditions and expectations of both the guest and the homeowners, but it’s seemingly even more common to do this if you’re working class and already don’t have much. The meaning behind doing so is so much greater as a result, too.

One of my many pet peeves are the people thathave never tasted something, and they say they don't like it. I can understand if it's pig feet, etc, but c'mon?

@@lunacielo7680 oh don’t get me started on the feet of any animal. I have tried it multiple times, and while I am someone who loves fat (to my own detriment), I can never stand the texture of the feet no matter how well seasoned

Unfortunately I’m not sure they have access to a oven. They usually cook everything on the stove top.

You do realize race hustlers are inventing this so they can have a chance to be in front of the camera and they are the ones fixing the situation. There are plenty of those who just hate everything that they haven’t grown up with. These men are so funny, their explanations are priceless.

Yes! I adore their frozen coconut cake. My grandmother used to buy it as a treat when I was little so it has special memories for me too.

Another thumbs-up for Pepperidge Farms coconut cake. It’s better than it sounds like it’d be!!

Yuck! America's favorite? Ask most kids in the USA what is their favorite cookie. I bet it will be chocolate chip.

Learning there language along the way has also been a special treat. I can by no means speak it. But understand some of there words now after watching several videos now. It’s so wonderful to feel like you have already met them and understand them and what they are about. Just a lovely group. Always.

More people should be like these men. Giving new things a chance getting to know traditions customers and meals that go along with them. So cool.

I have givin many dishes a try since having first watched these men. They are so open to giving things a chance. What’s to dislike about that. I mean, how amazing.right? Now have some new favourites to eat and enjoy that are not western. What so ever. They are there own distinct things and made with real ingredients. I’m all for desserts my self. But have enjoyed some spice in my meals that I had avoided due to pour preparations I’ve tried in the past. My taste buds are happy now. And have explored many cultures and there delicious cuisines and can’t go back to burgers and fries. Lol
