my grandma would ride her little scooter about a mile from her house to the McDonalds, everyday to meet with her friends and get a filet o fish. she did this for years until she had to move in with my aunt cuz she got sicker. I really miss her. she was so determined to get to mcdonalds every day for that damn fish filet, that when she couldn't drive anymore she got herself a little, bright red, scooter thing for old people, just so she could still get there everyday. lol. I don't really like those burgers but i still get them sometimes in memory of her. :) some of the employees of that mcdonalds even went to her funeral cuz they knew her so well.

I ate my first Filet-O-Fish when I was 1 year old. 45 years later and it's still my favorite thing on the McDonald's menu.

I love McDonald’s fish filet sandwiches. I can eat them all day. They are my second favorite food item at McDonald’s, second to my all time favorite, the Big Mac. I am happy to see that the sandwich was not drowned in ketchup. Excellent!

Specifically about how to eat healthier at McDonald's (my first paid employment was in my home town McDonald's). If a person has high blood pressure, ask for no salt on your filet o' fish sandwich (fish burger). To help high cholesterol, ask for very light tartar sauce (spiced mayonaise dressing) and only 1/2 a piece of cheese. If you are diabetic (high blood sugar), ask for no top bun (roti) and the fixings on the bottom bun. And if your religious traditional involves a yearly fasting period, the weeks(s) before the fast, ask for a "Double filet o' fish (you will get two fish burgers on your sandwich to build up your fat stores for the impending fast). Salam.

Maybe showing the guys how fishing and processing the catch is done all over the world would be interesting. Rana seems to think one has to sit by the water for a long time to catch a fish. Just as one of the farming vids was fascinating to them, I think fishing (and industrial fishing) vids would be as well.

the sauce on a fish sandwich is not just mayonaise. Its called tartar sauce and does have mayonaise in it as well as relish made of dill or sweet pickles. it also contains lemon juice and dill spice. Its very popular as a sauce for fish

I think it would have been interesting to hear their reactions to the story behind the fillet-o-fish. It was created in 1962 by a McDonald's franchise owner in Cincinnati in response to low hamburger sales every Friday. The reason why people weren't buying burgers on Fridays was because multiple different Christian groups abstain from eating meat on Fridays. In the Catholic tradition and some others though, fish isn't considered meat. So, he decided to add a sandwich to the menu made with fish instead of beef. Needless to say, it became quite popular even outside of Christian circles. There's a whole Wikipedia entry about it.

My late grandfather never liked fast food, except the fish filet from McDonald's. After my older sister got her license, he would call her and ask her to bring him 1 since his English wasn't very good.

Filet-O-Fish is yummy. McDonald's is the brain child of two brothers who started a hamburger shop and had a production line style of cooking the food. I use to work at Jack In The Box as a teen. I enjoyed it. They use to say "If you got time to lean you got time to clean." XDLOL It's a good first job.

They should be told that this “small” burger is usually accompanied by an order of french fries, a soda, and followed up by an ice cream. If you’re going to try to make them obese using the American diet, you have to give them all the crap Americans eat.

The Filet-O-Fish was adopted in Cincinnati, Ohio in 1959, because of the large Catholic population there who wouldn't eat red meat on Fridays during Lent. McDonald's created this burger to accommodate Catholic religious practice, but it became a big hit and spread to McDonald's everywhere.

McDonald's is gross now. I wish they could have tried it in the 80's

I thought for sure Raffique wouldn't like it because of the tartar sauce so I was pleasantly surprised when he said it was very delicious. A fish fillet with extra tartar sauce is my favorite McDonald's food item (after the fries of course). Glad they all enjoyed and that they now understand that it's the toppings that make the burger/sandwich large.

I love watching these people try new things I wouldn't mind sitting down and trying their kind of food with them I bet it would be an experience of a lifetime keep doing what you do I love the videos

I'm quite impressed by the generally very positive comments. Today in England I had my very first Filet-o-Fish burger ever! It was quite bland, as one of the taste-testers said. Reminded me of kids' food, but all right. But next time I'll get a cheese burger or Big Mac.

Aussie Cheese Fries from the Outback Restaurant. These boys would be in HEAVEN with the flavors! Or better yet, a Blooming Onion from the Outback... they got the best creamy ranch dipping saucer my mouth has ever tasted. If i could teleport such a thing to these villages, hot out the kitchen, I definitely would! You boys deserve more than a small little fish o fillet!! The Filet O Fish was invented because many people don't eat meat during Lent and burger sales were down. Now the majority of sales from this sandwich happen during Lent.

Personally, I like Wendy's fish sandwich to McDonalds.. but I know there are more tastier fish sandwiches out there.

As with the fried fish try- they should know our fish has many little bones too. The fillet is a cooking preparation that removes most of the bones. I hope they enjoyed it.
