I am from the south and we eat this about once a week. I have never had dip sauce. We usually mashed potatoes and gravy, whatever vegetables that are in season out of our gardens , or canned from the garden in winter. Fried chicken is actually very easy to make. Our mothers and grandmother's start teaching us at a young age how to make it. Love your videos!😊

I do my "fried" chicken in the over .... yes from scratch. I know. Sacrilege. But it tastes so good. And, yes, here too, if I should happen to have any leftover from the day it is prepared and eaten (first day), I will have a piece (or two) for breakfast ..... and lunch ..... and dinner again ....and repeat the next day if any is left. I am of the school, if it is in the fridge, I will eat it whatever meal time it is. Nothing is strictly for a specific meal or time of day. Shoot, 3 pm as I type this, I just had a late lunch .... fried egg sandwich with fresh tomato on the side. So good, so easy to prepare. I decided a long time ago that all those rules and "norms" that we were subjected to and expected to follow as we were growing up are for the birds. My house, my kitchen, my rules. As a result, I eat well and enjoy ever bite. 😄

@April May ...it's a matter of the method used and ingredients used for battering the chicken. I'm a 72 year old Southern lady and have fried a ton of Southern Fried Chicken over the years. It isn't just thrown in a skillet. That's why not everyone is born knowing how to cook. They've been taught by the elder generations all the intricacies of cooking good Southern food. Southerners have sort of a reverence towards their regional cooking. Our elders also cooked with a dash or two of love thrown in.

@LMmccallL57 Год назад
@@aprilmay578 Not true. If Southerners cooked like everyone else _worldwide_ as you said, then how is it that these men don't know anything about how it's prepared? Does everyone use pork to season with, even if it goes against religion? I'm a Southerner, and I'm also a black woman of Cherokee, Choctaw, Irish and Jewish ancestors, and you can best believe that my black slave ancestors who had to make food from what their owners called disgusting garbage, didn't pass down the same way of cooking as my other non-black, but Southern ancestors did. Soul food plays a big part in the way many Southern people cook, too. To this day, I have Northern and West Coast cousins and friends who visit and are surprised by the difference in how we cook the same foods. Something as simple as "sweet tea" isn't even the same.

Our country has many diverse cultures and with it many different cooking styles. I suggest that a accurate detail map be put on the back wall behind them. Maybe they could understand better if it was pointed out on a map. Another suggestion is providing napkins, maybe a cold beverage like water or Ice Tea. Also eating utensils. What kind of dipping sauce is it? In the USA there are many different sauces. I prefer none on my chicken for myself. Does the chicken have a Mexican flair, or is it strictly Southern USA? The background music has a Mexican flair. Maybe some music from Nashville or something like the Charles Daniels Band, even "Good Ol' Boys" by Waylon Jennings may even help? New Orleans Is in Louisiana in Southern USA. New Orleans is a separate unique culture because It's a blend of other cultures.

i am from the Deep SOuth, Florida. and there is no dipping sauce for fried chicken. i dont know where you found that at, but it didnt come from the South. - Southern can be an adjective or a noun. As an adjective, it means of, relating to, or characteristic of a region conventionally designated South, or in or from the south part of an area. It can also describe something lying toward the south or coming from the south. As a noun, Southern can refer to the dialect of English spoken in most of the southern states of the United States, or a person from that region.

Southern Fried Chicken.........ooh yeah! I love Southern Fried Chicken! It somewhat reminds me of the taste of KFC and just tastes amazing! Here in Australia, we can actually buy a pack for about $15 AUD and cook it up! We can't get enough of it! It's just that good! Gul Sher Khan though with his two thumbs up, it was like "You beauty!"😂😂

There is no such thing as "Southern fried chicken". It is just plain old fried batter chicken just like everyone else around the world cooks. In Europe they would add diced onion or garlic to the batter throughout the centuries. Southern people just slap on the word " Southern" onto common everyday foods.
