Look forward to trying this shortly for part of my arm workout today!! Could you do an in depth workout/tips like this for side & rear delts, would be much appreciated 👍💪 Thoroughly enjoy your style & type of training, I've noticed it really makes the mind muscle connection & contraction on a whole other level.
Interesting. I stumbled onto the idea of rocking back and firing from the stretch w french presses. When you mentioned "you want the fold to happen", that's when it clicked because that's exactly how it feels, folding the arm in on itself. I feel the tricep way more, it burns, it gets bloated but if I don't do that, it's still good. But not as good. I'm experimenting all the time looking for the best way for me to move and it's cool when I notice others who feel the same. Kind of like a proof of concept.
You know he's bang on the money when you mimic the demonstration loosley whilst watching and, It makes IMMEDIATE sense.. When you get that "oh yeah moment" before he's even fully elaborated.. Whatever level you're at, this type of focus is stupidly beneficial.. If you don't learn something new, you'll get refreshed on something you over looked.. Love this shit me.. No ego just knowledge..
Your suggestions and tricks help tremendously! Especially when you get feel stuck on the same stretch workouts for upper body and knowing the RIGHT WAY. Thank you!
I couldn't agree more with the grip. I FINALLY figured that out. By using the meat of your hand instead of using the middle of your hand makes a world of difference.
You're one of my favorite coaches! As a Jiu-Jitsu black belt always showing a new scam, created or archived in memory of your total old school experience!! The variation on standing back to the pulley I like to do crossing the cable above the shoulder by the opposite side of the head with the forearm in diagonal position and I feel too much the outer part of the triceps!
Long head of the triceps originates above the shoulder joint, you need shoulder flexion to pre-stretch the long head, not just elbow flexion. Great video! Way to know your anatomy
Thanks so much for these videos I really appreciate the way you explain things. It really helps understand the whole movement and how to execute properly. Top notch I can't get enough!
Awesome training info. Since I’ve implemented your philosophies and techniques, huge pumps and amazing relief on my joints. Keep up the great content Mike
Thank you bro. Ive been dealing with tennis elbow And I believe it’s because of my bad form. You’ve been the only person to actually deliver with no bullshit no fluff
Actually have arms today so I'm definitely going to give it a try in about 20 minutes with your tips/tricks & pointers! Thanks for putting out awesome, useful & extremely helpful content! Keep Killin' It Brotha
@@MikeVanWyck it went really well, I got a crazy full pump & felt it deep In the muscle. Really good advice, workout & explanation of how to fully stretch & contract/ control the muscle and the weight. Definitely do not need to go crazy heavy when paying that close attention to the entire range of motion in each exercise!
I left my ego at home, followed your techniques at the gym and made more solid gains in areas i missed all these years just moving weight. Thank you for your channel and advice.💪🦾
I used to always assume that I knew everything when it came to working out and all these little fine tweaks in movement were bs. But tbh they’ve helped me so much and it’s so important to approach the gym as student and learn from others more knowledgeable than you. Your techniques have helped me immensely Keep it up!
I´m very thakfull for Mike´s advices and tips, I improved seriously my back watching and putting into work those advices, before finding Mike´s video series, it was difficult for me to feel it and make back gains. Thanks again from Chile.
Where has this channel been? Better late than not at all. Best explanations of biomechanics and muscle function I've seen. Knowledge that should not only improve progress, but reduce chance of injuries.
@@WYCKEDTRAINING you should do a chest workout like this that has all these great details. if you haven't already that is. because it seems like most experts i have asked about standing cable flys if you should keep your scaps retracted the whole while flys/pressing seems everyone does it different some do some don't?
Thank you for the tips. I've been doing everything on the row machine like you said NOT TO DO. So ill change things up. Again thank you for all these videos you do.
I've kind of made a lot of these adjustments just from getting a better mind muscle connection from years of training, but I've never been able to explain those little differences or heard anyone else explain it. Very cool
Brother, I’m just starting out and I don’t know much But I have gravitated to watching this channel and have gotten results following your advise. I can’t do it exactly every time. But I just remember to get the target muscle or groups engaged at a weight I can control. This is one of my favorite vids on your channel. I have watched it over and over to fix things I’m not doing right in form and or posture or even the right grip. I have been doing everything wrong.
Jesus Christ I am that lame f*** who’s hitting triceps like this for 12 years haha no wonder my arms suck. Man great video you’re the man for coming through with this makes so much sense
I've learned alot from the mechanics of how to place your body weight and how to position your weight when you're doing triceps exercises couple of things I knew already but its funny you learn something new every day and this video hits the nail on its head. Top knowledge video this guy knows what he is talking about I notice most guys in the gym lift weights for ego not to build the muscle. I'll definitely subscribe to this guy I'm going to watch this video again before I do my chest and triceps its about feeling the weight and leave the ego at the door my top training friend Tommy who is in his 80's who still does personal training in Manchester UK always say do it light and do it right so you have a solid foundation. I still carry that concept on in the gym today listen this guy man you learn a lot big up yourself Sir. My triceps are paining mi by just watching this video 🙈🔥🔥🔥😂🙉👊🏿
It took me almost a decade to work up to 4+ plates on machines. The 60kg, & 65 kg dumbbells, also took me a very long to to work up to. I had to get really good at moving and being engaged before I could think of progressing the weight. Remember kidlets, it's *bodybuilding* Don't get caught up in weight numbers
Thank you mike for your content it has helped me tremendously on so many of my lifts I wasent feeling but now I can really feel them well. I’m still struggling with any sort of leg press and squats I only feel it in my teardrop whenever I leg press, hack, or squat idk why this is any ideas? Thanks
Your cues are really top notch. Never really thought about weight distribution when setting up for something as simple as a tricep extension. Great stuff!
When I'm in the gym people sometimes comment: "Hey have you injured yourself? Because even I could do that weight". I just tell them that the weights are mere tools for me, I don't care how much weight I'm moving, I'm just there to stimulate the muscle. It should be mandatory to watch these videos before going to the gym.
If anyone has the audacity to make such a comment, tell them they need to focus on their own training otherwise don't just come in to waste space and others' time in your gym. How asinine of anyone to make such vapid remarks veiled as a concerned question!
True to the adage that in real estate, it's all about: (Location, Location, Location)💲 Big💪Mike clearly indicates that in bodybuilding, it's all about: "Technique, Technique, Technique"👍 With it, you will build quality MUSCLE as opposed to your ego, which will get you no where✌
Hey Mike, Love from Kolkata, India. I have been one of your oldest fan and an avid admirer of your workout ethics & technicalities since your " Young Buck ANIMAL" days. I ended up following you in the process of loving the work of Evan Cento panni & Frank as I've found u much vocal & upfront in several occasions & drawn by the way you explain everything. That's why I connect with you this 28th Birthday to learn and follow your preaching after a 10 years long natural bodybuilding career in anticipation of being more jacked and Happier @eotd. Let's get more WYCKED together @WYCKED TRAINING Much love, grow big, Full Power!!!
I appreciate u following me throughout the years. The days with animal I think of very fondly. And trust me upfront will Be an understatement with what I’m about to do
After 47 years I finally learned something on RU-vid. I implemented the small “hinge” into my training today and feel a complete difference in the tricep.
Ya man. Not trying to be anything but myself. This fitness world is filled with ppl pretending to re invent the wheel. I’m just here showing what I have found works for me
@@MikeVanWyck yes sir you are going to change a lot of minds about ‘having to lift extremely heavy’ to see results. It’s about the mechanics and the execution of the movements the weight will come don’t ego lift just as you said to move weight. I’ve been that guy, for what? As I’ve grown older I’ve lessened the weights and focused more on the execution and building a better mind muscle connection. Thanks again man you’re a straight shooter never change my friend
@@MikeVanWyck I’ll try and do the same out here on the east coast. I’m no pro that’s for sure, I’m barely an intermediate trainee but I will refer everyone who ever asks me for advice to check you out on YT and IG and FB if you have that also. Your no nonsense, to the point, keep things simple approach is what I think a lot of ppl need and want they just don’t know where to get it. Now they’ll come to you my friend. All the best
Very informative videos with great explanations - thank you Mike for them. Let me ask you - when using, as you recommend, full range of motion for biceps (e.g. on the preacher bench), i.e. by extending your arm fully - should you relax your biceps at full extension and start the next rep from "dead stop", or should you keep costant tension (which is difficult to do at full extension)? Also - if you could make a video on back exercises showing the difference between execution for upper / middle back vs for lats on the more common exercises like pull downs, barbell, dumbell or cable rows, it would be great. Greetings from Poland.
i like the rope press down i used to not like it now its great, same for french curls/skull crushers. dropping the ego has made me like alot of exercises. over head press love it.
I did not know you… wow !!! Super video !! I have 25 years of « training in the body », but i understand something new this morning with your video. Thank you sir ! I will view all of your videos sir ! (Sorry for my bad english) … have a nice day :)
I came into the gym today to do legs but I'll definitely be hitting some triceps after this Info!! Much needed cause my arms are big but my triceps are flat
I never really knew about this technique but I always have done it this way Bc I really feel it better then just being stiff and trying to be what ppl would call “perfect form” I would tell myself man ppl probably say my form bad but I feel this shit skin splitting pumping 👌
I can’t believe you only have 6000 subscribers. This page is gold. It makes he completely rethink everything im doing. But when it comes to these other stupid videos of people lifting stupid weights there’s hundreds of thousands of subscribers. And all they do in the videos is eat food and try to sell you their merchandise. Thank you for the Knowledge bro
I did it today skull crushers with just 5kg on each for 12 reps max just like how Mike demonstrated in the video superset with the same exercise to my nose bridge and followed with a press for 15 reps 3 sets and my arms was on fire I'm still feeling sore and that was about 12 hours ago. So done right it works I chose two exercises from the cable along with the rope extension and I felt it after doing a chest workout. This dude knows his stuff as I said before my opinion he and Charles Glass are two of the hottest man them to put up things on here trust me.
The triceps crosses 2 joints. This video addresses that. Most people don’t thing about training from the shoulder to the elbow and the elbow to the shoulder. Many muscles cross 2 joints. Great content.
Just an idea (don’t yell at me, please Mike). You spoke on some bodybuilders lifting heavy and knowing how to move weight; Most of your viewers are novice to intermediate humans who are trying to learn. It might be good content to have one of “us” with you and having you correct their form/etc.
Even after 18 years of bodybuilding and training and no ego lifting and being hardcore all what he said makes total sense and the funny thing i can feel it without even moving anything by only seeing it , thanks bro you are a refreshing breeze in this industry keep it up man we all have your back 💪🏻👏👍
Very good info right off the bat. The stretch and contraction. Is so important for tris mine blew up proportionally from training like this, and the only exercise I do is single arm cable push downs
I'm gonna say it. We need a glute video for the guyz. 1, most women I know complain that we're flat back there or could use some more back there. 2, it would be hilarious seeing you explain it lol.
Found the tricep video, gonna get this over head extension figured out today! 😎 (my algorithm shows me all the “featuring MVW” videos rather than actual wyked videos)
definitely will try this. I always say feel the strech from the muscle you are working and then stay with that feeling all the way through the contraction, start to finish. If that makes sense. great content, thanks a bunch.
