Trick 'r Treat (2007) Review 

I love this movie so much! The pumpkin head thing is named Sam, as someone mentioned before I think he's supposed to be the "spirit" of Halloween. I think one of the coolest things about this movie is the rules or traditions of Halloween that the film portrays. Like always check your candy, don't blow out your jack-o-lantern before midnight, and things like that. Perfect Halloween movie!

"Weird Alien Pumpkin thing" his name is Sam (as in Samhain) and he's ADORABLE! I especially like how its severed hand crawls up to him and taps his leg to "reawaken" him. This movie wasn't very scary, put it was PURE FUN! :D

The creator thought Halloween should have an iconic mascot like Santa 🎅 or the Easter Bunny 🐰 . I think Sam (Samhain) is perfect for that. The movie is only about Halloween (Nightmare Before Christmas is split), he's not overly scary, and he has realistic proportions. (unlike Jack Skellington) He also goes back to the origins of Halloween. As mentioned in the movie, the Celts had a celebration for the end of the harvest and the beginning of the dark half of the year. Squash/gourds were carved and lit as a protection from Samhain and the spirits of the dead, who could return on this night. They also wore disguises (costumes) so evil spirits couldn't recognize them, and they shared treats with each other in celebration. Those are the 3 rules Sam enforces. In the quarry, the zombie children on the bus didn't emerge until the last Jack-o-lantern was extinguished, and Rhonda was protected on her way home because there was 1 lit Jack-o-lantern left at the top that she took with her. I also love the extra little ways the stories connect -- it's very unique and well done. It's not like every other anthology. The kids seeking Jack-o-lanterns go to one of the teacher's houses, where she offers them alcohol. In the background (as mentioned by one kid later) there's another teacher in a hot dog costume having sex with a pig. Later, at the party in the woods, the teacher in the cat costume is rolling the hot dog in because she's one of them too. The 2 truly terrible people in the movie (bus driver and the principal) both get what they deserve.

I did really like this movie when I watched it. You should check out the 2015 movie "Krampus". The soundtrack music is composed by the same guy in both of them, Douglas Pipes. Krampus in my opinion is a really good holiday horror movie based on a folk tale from Germany (the other side of St. Nicholas. Just like you said with this movie, it's not really scary, it's just really fun and creative.

I love this movie I was seriously looking foward this review, I really enjoy it very much. Out of the list that you have I;m kinda worry about the hazing Since I saw a trailer from 2004 and it kinda look like a knock off from the movie Night of the Demons from 1988 that has a sequel and a remake. You should check it out. :)

Saw this movie for the first time this past Halloween and thought it was just ok. Not scary at all...sorry to say. Interesting at best. I did like all that over the top decorations though. Definitely brings you into the Halloween mood. And being a guy I do wish there was more female nudity. Hey what can I say
