Welcome to my first proper bow review. This is the Ming "Emperor" III from Alibow, currently priced at $300. You can find the bow here: www.alibowshop... Please support me on Patreon here: / blumineck
The new bow is just a touch slower and less impactful, but I have to say the sound of firing it is sooo much nicer. Aesthetically, it's a lovely bow. Nice to see that it's also an effective one, too.
PLEASE make that video on curved shots omg. in skyrim i discovered a little known probably bug that lets you curve arrows by going into slow mo zoom while walking sideways and shooting and i had a lot of fun doing trick shots, im really curious what kinds of weird things you can do with curving arrows irl (though im sure it's not gonna work the same as skyrim lol). i haven't seen anything like that before!
Dude, your videos made me finally take the step and buy my first bow. It’s been quite a challenge since I’m learning by myself, but I’m so excited! Thanks for showing such a passion for archery
I think I rewatched the last trick shot 20 times to understand the physics of you not falling on your head.... still don't get how but sick video haha!
Yay, you finally did a gear review! This is awesome; I may never have even heard of that bow before, and it's gorgeous. I'm sure folks are still wondering where you got that excellent quiver though; I know I am.
@@blumineck Well maybe we just want to know all the things! Inquiring minds want to know! Please tell us all the stuff! :P (But seriously, an intro vid about how you became this parkour pole-dancing ranger-bard, how you got started, and some pitfalls to avoid, would be awesome.)
@@Cedar_Wolf if it helps, as seen in older uploads, he already had a proficient background in pole, and while the quality of the videos isn't necessarily the greatest, some of his older videos where he's first experimenting and mapping out how to do tricks might be good to look into? specifically, from what i remember, "how to shoot upside down," "archery twin shot: how to do it, and is there any point" and his demonstration at the leeds university campus could be good, but there's certainly stuff i'm forgetting there's also a few videos of him practicing up that are a nice look in terms of showing he was finding things and perfecting them as he went, and didn't have it all perfect on the first go (apologies if this level of knowledge is in some way unsettling, i just have adhd and sped through a significant portion of both the blumineck youtube channel and tiktok account in the span of a couple days some months ago)
@@xvynth I can definitely appreciate the ADD/ADHD hyper focus of 'Oooh, I need to binge everything about right now!' I'll look into those vids. Thank you!
Thank you for renewing my excitement in archery! I can't wait for winter now so I can go out and practice again (temps here are around 40 right now, much too hot for messing around in the backyard)
Great video! But that is not a wood bow--it is a wood cored glass bow. The wood core is pretty and saves weight by separating the two glass fiber layers (which always makes a lighter bow than a solid glass bow made of the same fiberglass). You are an amazingly accomplished instinctive shooter!

I'm finding myself really interested in archery now.
Guide video on how to start getting into archery please. Like some basic guidelines and principles of archery. Im sorry if i sound rude or demanding. Just genuinely wanted to learn. Cheers. Keep up the awesome work you're doing.
Since gun isn’t allowed in my country, I guess I’ll just go for bow and arrows to defend myself 😂😂 Advantage of Bow and arrows is that I can add magical enchantments to it by attaching crystals.
I had thought about asking what if any brands you would suggest for someone getting into archery on your last video for the very reason you mentioned in the start of this video. I have a compound and shoot it competently but I do want to start shooting recurve but am unsure what is a good bow to start with other than of course a low draw weight one, so glad you ended up reviewing bows.
The review was good. Your mic though is picking up your low register louder than anything else and making you sound uneven and muffled. It also picks up wind. Whatever you were using for sound before worked way better from a listener's perspective.
This is the same mic I've always used? It doesn't usually show up as much because it's on a darker top, but I've not changed it out or anything. Maybe it's getting old or something.
Could you tell us about the quiver set up you are using? I really like it. Is it a piece of kit you made? If not who is the manufacturer. Thanks. Love your work! Keep it up!
Gotta say, that thing is a beauty! And it performs! This is really nice! I don't mind it only comes up to 50lb, that is safely legal for hunting where I am, and there is plenty of target shooting to be had with that already! Question though, is it weird that I can hear the difference in draw weight between the two bows?
@@blumineck I think I was a bit surprised because, for some reason not related to edibles, this time my brain laser focused on the draw weight differences and ignored the others because they were "close enough", while normally I take sound differences for granted because "it is just a different bow overall".
Id like to imagine the cut before ‘but ultimately, you can only stare at a bow for so long’ is because you got distracted and stared at the bow for too long and had to cut out that bit
If you can, you should point another camera zoomed in the target as a PiP in the video... I think it'd make them cooler as we could see you bullseyeing them targets better.
yes I was wondering this too, it's helpful to clarify whether it was bought with your own money or sent for free to review. He said they were helpful with shipping "throughout the ordering process" and in the uk you are legally required to declare paid reviews, so he probably did buy it himself. The review does hold more weight if you say that explicitly rather than leaving people to guess.
Is nobody going to mention the shade to the imperial/customary system? "If you like your measurements unintuitive, it's about 52 inches." I'm dying of laughter over here as an American who has been frustrated by this system since I learned it.
What's the joke about a Robin Hood being able to do the correct accent? It's been so long since I watched any vaguely Robin Hood related movies, but to my knowledge some US accents may have closer pronunciation to English as spoken a few hundred years ago.
Speaking from the US side of the pond, as I recall the accent joke (from Mel Brooks' Robin Hood: Men in Tights(1993)) was mostly aimed at Kevin Costner's role as the titular character from Robin Hood: Prince of Theives (1991), wherein I would charitably describe Mr. Costner's efforts at using any sort of recognizable English accent (even to my dumb American ears) as "nonexistent." Obviously, he's a fantastic actor outside of that and by no means the only one to fail at accents in general, but as I recall the press at the time had an absolute field day ragging on him for it.
It's ironic how you dump on the imperial system but still use pounds for draw weight haha. Don't get me wrong, I think using inches is insane too, just thought that was funny 😂 Love your videos!
The Asiatic bows are all sold in pounds of draw weight at 28"--though the length might be in centimeters, the brace height in inches and the width of the bow at the arrow pass in millimeters. Probably because the astonishing world wide growth in traditional archery was kicked off in the United States.
Hands free set or a headset with the mic on the opposite side to the side you draw on? Should stop you dragging the earpiece out when you shoot, and keep the mic close to your mouth
