Thank you for demonstrating a realistic way to organize children's clothes. So often I watch organization videos where moms are organizing their childrens' closets. The closet rods are so high up it would be impossible for the child to even reach their own clothing. Often I see little t shirts are folded in little plastic drawers, which will be demolished in 2 seconds as soon as the child pulls out one shirt.Shoes are lined up in a row in the bottom of the closet (like that's going to stay that way). I love your kid level, kid friendly closets. What a great way to teach a child independence. Your color scheme of various blues and white hangers - give uniformity to closet. I love your no fold system, what a great time saver. I love your "shrink" system for saving baby clothes. Your bin at the bottom of the closet - for out grown clothes. You do have this down to a "fine art." As a mom of seven kids I give you two thumbs up for a wonderful instructional and practical video. By far the best I have seen. My only thought is using laminated pictures of clothing items - for children who are not able to read yet. I think this works organizing toys as well. While it looks nice to have cute label on the outside of a container that says Blocks. For a Preschooler - the words plus a picture would be a great tool to help a child be more independent in putting their own toys away and learn a few basis words at the same time.
From years of watching you I actually use your tips. I don’t have a closet in my boy’s room so I use ikea bind to hold everything and I don’t fold a thing. Also use the bin of too small items as he grows out of them :) thank you for teaching me this.
I enjoy watching your videos. They are really helping me to organize better than before, and making it a little easier to let go of things. Thank you!☺
I’m so glad to see another boy mom with as many clothes as we have. I expect to see little girls with lots of clothes but never imagined how many clothes my boys would have
Thank you! I have 14m twin girls and this will be the first time I’m going through their clothes.. I also love the dollar tree storage bags .. people they work! My husband sends clothes all the time to his family in Mexico and we have to use these bags!
I just did something similar. I have four girls so I had space saver bags . But I took them all out and bought bins at a very good price at Target. So I organized by size each one and what I was getting rid of . I labeled them as well so now when one of them uses that sizes I grabbed the bins and change their clothing with a much easier system. Your videos have helped tremendously. This year in my house it’s all about organizing. I’ve been tackling little by little .
That baby giggle though!! I used your closet system you posted when Carson was a baby when I had my son 2 years ago. And it has been a life saver. I love not feeling guilty about not folding things 😊
I am so glad you recommend the no fold system. We have been doing that in my daughter's room. She only hangs up shirts, jackets, and dresses. The rest goes into bins in the bottom of her closet. It has been such a time saver.
I would love to see a video on how to organize craft supplies. I have collected many things and find I am very overwhelmed at the idea of where to put what. Thanks again for all your help!
Fantastic video!! I am obsessed with your organizational videos! I can never get enough of them. They're always chock full of genius tips and are pure eye candy. Love your chuckling , squeezable Owen!💕😘😍
Your babies are so adorable! I’m working on my family’s Spring and Summer wardrobes and this is the first time I’m creating capsules for EVERYONE in my family! It’s a lot of planning and prep work, but like you shared that little bit of effort in the beginning keeps you organized all season. Loved this video!
Oh my gosh, your kids are so cute I just love it. I love that you keep things real and honest, it makes me feel better about being a human and not being perfect all the time 😄
I watched this earlier this week (which was a godsend bc my kids closet is a WRECK). Then I went to the dollar tree tonight & stocked up, and I’m planning to tackle their closet tomorrow! 🤞🏻 I just rewatched this to get inspired 😂
I’m really working on being more organized and your videos help me realize how manageable these tasks can really be! They’ve also helped me get rid of a lot of stuff I don’t use. I’d love some desk organizing/dorm organizing tips if you have any!
I cannot believe you’re not at a million subbies with all your brilliant ideas!! ♥️🙏🏼 thanks! I have done the bin in the closet for the clothes that doesn’t fit for 6 months now with my girls and it helps soooo much!
Inspired to go clean out my little dude's closet now (just wish the weather would decide which way its going so I could officially change seasons with clothes!) Love seeing your little ones in videos - Owen always makes me smile!
I used a TON of your ideas when we moved into our new house! I put cheap linoleum tiles on the top wire rack above my hanging bars so I could put shoes up there. I also use the fabric boxes (with labels of course!) for swim suits, extra purses and wallets, winter dry fit clothes and clothes I only wear for working outside or painting! I don't access them enough to need them every day, but it's nice that they are easy to get to!
I had no idea Dollar Tree space bags work that well! I am going to get some after the Nor'easter is done and get organized! Thanks Kathryn for the wonderful ideas!
I love this - no folding, just dumping in the right spot. That's my kind of organising! I realised a long time ago we are a family of dumpers. I try and make sure we have place to dump our stuff. Other people seem horrified, but I figure the way your organise yourself needs to work with how you actually operate, not how you think you should.
So I’m not alone for having two sizes in my daughters closet! I am constantly going through clothes that are either to small or too big. So hard to keep a closet organized thank you so much for sharing!
I watch so many videos about organization for children, and I don’t even have kids 😂 I’m just so excited to have a family one day! At least I’ll be super prepared when the time comes haha!
Great tips! We also use bins for pajamas. I use the shoe organizer in our master closet for socks, underwear, tank tops or anything that we don't mind being wrinkle..no dresser in the room taking up space. 😀
Love your ideas! I have been following you for a long time and bought the vacuum bags when you showed them in a prior video. They are great! I also found recently in organizing my kids' closets (3 and 5 yrs) that IKEA sells kids hangers that are inbetween baby and adult- sized hangers. I had no idea such a thing existed! They are the perfect size and reasonably priced! They are come in multicolor packs so I use pink and green (pink summer clothes, green winter) for my daughter and blue and orange (blue winter clothes, orange summer) for my son.
I love your videos. Can you please make one about organization in a really tiny space? We have a lot of apartments where I live. Many families have kids that share rooms and no pantry in the kitchen. I would love to see you organize a family of 4 in a 2 bedroom 1 bath 1000sf apartment.
OMG....I'm so happy you post this video😁! I need some ideas to organize my kids closet. It's a mess😨I watch everyone of your video to help me how to organize my house and my kids room. Thanks so much for posting this video😀!
My kids’ closets at our “new” old house are super tiny! I’m going to see how I can implement this idea for their closets. So cute seeing more footage of Owen! Love seeing his personality coming out! Blessings❣️
I’m bout to get a new dog and this video is helping me with all the organizations because I’m not allowed to keep the dog stuff anywhere else so thank you and I got all the organization stuff and all the bands for and girl you rock thanks
Kathryn, I love your organization videos! You have really inspired me to be more organized and to try new stuff like those bags. Thanks for explaining how they work. Hey to your sweet boys!👋 I hope you have a wonderful weekend!💁🏼🌷
LOVE the filed space bags and 2 sizes on separate closet rods ... oh and Owen's giggles 😍😍😍 My daughter is 17 now but every year from when she was a baby we would have a garage sale of the clothes and toys she outgrew and get age-appropriate clothes and toys from the proceeds ... I will actually have a garage sale video soon to show how we organize our garage sales to maximize sales at our garage sales and on garage sale apps ❤❤❤❤❤
I loved this video, after i saw it i organiseded my childrens trousers and shirts in baskets in sted of folded on a shelf. And wauv a different it makes in the amount of time i use when putting the clean close back in place. So once again thanks for a great idea 😀.
The two sizes at a Time is brilliant! I need to try that. I do the too small bin like you and it’s such a time and stress saver. I actually have a tote marked with that size so when it’s full I quickly sort through and then move on down with the other too small containers.
omg Owen is adorable!! and wow, those closets are amazing. and yes yes yes to dollar tree space bags!! i have so many vintage linens and quilts in those things and at first i thought that they wouldn't hold long but like you said, if you do it right they sure will. i have had stuff sealed for 3 years and it's still flat as a pancake. (i guess if it's been that long and i haven't used them... ummm, yeah i know....)
Love this video! Love your content:) I would love to see a video some day of a shared boy and girls room. How to organize 2 sets of clothes for different ages in one closet and one dresser. Plus it's our guestroom when people come so we have a crib and a double bed in one room.
Love your videos & your enthusiasm. We live in England where the homes thus the closets are VERY small. Can you kindly share tips for organizing in VERY tight spaces?
Great tips. I'm actually in the process of storing my daughters clothes. I'll have to check out the plastic "space saver" bags from the Dollar Tree. Thanks for the tips.
LOVE THIS! My husband just told me this morning that we need to clean out my oldest's drawer. To which I responded, "heck* no, I don't have time for that! We're leaving the stuff that's too small in there." Who does that :) Anyway, now I have some great tips for tackling that project quickly and efficiently. Plus, now that I know I don't even need to fold their clothes I have a lot more time in my week! I always love the organizing videos too! *ok, maybe I didn't actually say heck, but something a little stronger
I love organizing videos. My house is pretty much well organized but when I see videos I get inspired to do some re arraignments. Es un cuento de nunca acabar 😁
Amazing video as always, Kathryn! It's been so amazing to follow you over the years and see your content get more polished, while still staying totally real and helpful. I also can't believe how much Owen is talking now! Blessings
