The Maloo was left hand drive. Which sent me down a rabbit hole. Apparently there are companies that import old Holdens and convert them for you. Now you know and knowing is half the battle.

Pokey is really adorable, this whole series is actually restoring some of my faith in Ford.

3M Film Essentials - full hood, fenders, mirrors, roofline, A-pillars, rockers(lower doors), bumper (painted piece below the grill) , grill, lights, wear and tear kit (door edges, door cups, inner rocker sills, touchscreen). I like the ceramic, but I think the 3M will be more durable. The areas that are not filmed I will do ceramic coating. I also put in the XL RokBlokz mud flaps….love them. They can be removed so easily. I love the lifts….been wanting one for years. You are simply amazing….thanks for the videos!!!

With your need to keep things clean, if you off-road it - it will NEVER be the same. The dust is in every crevice, you will get pin-striped and rock rash. But it's fun. I got my 2020 Gladiator and off-road it a week after. It was never the same again. Also some of that Arizona red clay does not come off easily - I was in Sedona and ran a few trails there. Red clay dust sticks really well to anything.

Even if you just read the damn phone book, you would hold all of my attention. The fact that you do practical things that guys like to learn about and understand is just a bonus.

Don't be too harsh on the robot....he's just trying to knock off his competition. It's natural! Job security and all! Great job on the ceramic coating. But, you're right....very difficult to see the difference on this end of these confounded wires! ;-) Thank you for your work and another excellent video!

Is a Bronco a truck? That is THE cutest truck I ever saw. White paint doesn't show the gloss like darker colors. do . . . That was the most baffling detailing job - a subject I thought I knew about - but, there ya are. Cheers.

I had my new BMW K1600GTLceramic coated last year the day I picked it up by a detailer. Love it. Although it has only been in the rain only once, that is the only time I had to wash it. Dirt just falls off

We did a clear bra on our Subaru outback 6 years ago and it is still perfect. There is nothing better for avoiding Rock chips and the like. The original clear bra manufacturer is here in salt lake so we get it done there.

Last weekend I took the back road to Crown King then Senator Hwy. in to Prescott. Nice, easy trail ride, suitable for your Bronco. There is one spot where you have to drive through bushes that will rub against the paint, so I guess you'll never go. Too bad because it's a nice trip. Oh well, have fun polishing your off road vehicle. I'll see you out on the trail............or not. _that's my sarcastic a-hole way of telling you that you're going to get scratches and dents and stuff, don't worry about it, go out and have fun, get it dirty and muddy, drive it through the car wash on the way home then go out the next weekend and do it again._

I really like the restoration of the Ranger, your sisters Xterra and your prep and tweaks to your new Bronco.. I retired in 2015 and have been doing spring and fall road trips (until Covid hit) and would love to see Bronco overlanding videos. My best trip was two months from Southern Ontario to Alaska.

Oh and by the way, you should ceramic coat the lights, turn signals the bumpers, the grill, mirrors, basically everything, it will make clean up a breeze. Love the centercaps

Yes the Holden Maloo Ute is a tough model here down under...although Im Ford thru and thru, these are really nice tough looking models of the GM range down here (in my eyes). I noticed the conversion to LHD didnt include changing the wipers - my OCD saw this haha. In other news, that ceramic coating is the shiznit...love it!

15:06 My favorite Clear Bra is 3M Pro Shield Paint Protection. It's self healing should a hair line scratch touch the 3M film. I like this product and highly recommend it. It works well on my Audi and it should do well on Poky.

You can see the ceramic coat if you know what to look for. It smoothed out the orange peal and that makes it more glossy. You can still see it a bit around the door handle where you couldn’t really get the ceramic coating in there well. It’s the little things that make the difference in making Pokey look amazing. Also shout out to U-Wrench for all the loaner tools and knowledgeable mechanics that sit right next door.

Because of the colour, I thought it would not be possible to discern any change in shine but the camera has managed to pick it up, it definitely has a deeper, smoother shine after the buffing and coating. Those flares and wheels give it so much character and presence, loving the centre caps too! Cleaner now than when it left the factory! 👍😎

Lolz I got one heck of a deal on Avalon king coating kit like $150 kit for $48 and I applied it to my 07 dodge Dakota. This was two years ago now. It’s withstood the test of time in yooper Michigans rust belt.

This time of year when watching a vid that involves detailing I can't help but look outside and curse the Chicago winter (and cry over how quickly my car goes from mostly clean to it's dirty again). Great choice on the black chrome center caps.

The place that converts Pontiac G8s/Chevy SSs into Maloos is in Arizona, I think. They take half Maloo shells and basically swap in your interior/front end into it. I'd definitely love to have one

My Cayman S Sport should be back in 3-4 wks from engine rebuild (bore scoring). When it's back, I'm going to polish my Boxster S, then apply my 1st ceramic coating. I'm using Avalon King since John Ross uses it.

The flash time is important.....you will notice later when washing some body panels that had different flash times when coating will repel dirt easier and wash easier than other areas....1 min is huge, sometimes you don't wait long enough and just wipe it all off!

The Maloo Probably came from Left Hand Drive Utes, and uses the drivetrain, dash, emisions, airbags, and related parts from a Pontiac G8 to meet U regs

Nice UTE. We see a few around in Florida because a place near Lakeland was converting them, very cool.

XPEL Had their headlights protection. Lasted 16 years on my Volvo S60R. Have it on my 370Z Nismo now 4 years.

You're correct, the right side of the rear panel does look more shiny than the left. In fact it looks great. Can't wait to see when the vehicle is finished. Guess I'll watch the rest of the video!

Awesome as usual but you may have made a mistake, which you said you may be fine with but, if you applied the coating on top of that AIO then that coating may not have bonded properly. The AIO leaves behind some protection which that coating will likely not bond well to even though you did a prep wipe. Either way awesome vehicle and hey if it fails...more content! Ohh and the coating block has slits so you can tuck the suede applicator in so you don't have to hold it onto the block.

Holy shit!!! A Maloo!!! I want one so bad ❤️ Xpel for PPF, without a doubt. You’ll have to remove the ceramic coating though. PPF won’t stick to the coating. Ceramic coatings absolutely add gloss and shine

Definitely do a second coat and don't forget to use your Plexus on the plastic headlights and taillights every 3 or 4 months to protect them too.

Goodness me, but that Bronco is lookin fine. I’m so glad you lined the centercaps up properly. Saw some nice rims rather other day with crooked centres. Drove me crazy. Great job on the ceramic coating. I really need to write things down. Stagmode just had his car wrapped, and they were talking about a new product that was “better”.

The black chrome caps look great. What I like most about ceramic coating is the ease of keeping the vehicle clean. BTW, I used the same brand and it's still holding up after two years. I did a second coat after 24 hours. I've put the clay bar to it a few months ago out of curiosity, there was no buildup for the clay to remove.

The center caps definitely complete the look, it’s sharp. The ceramic coating will help but I had my local XPEL dealer do the clearbra on my Ranger. Love it, they did my last vehicle four years before and it looked like new when I traded it in.

Don't be afraid to ceramic coat the plastics. I tried it on two different older cars, one of them a 2005 TSX (which doesn't have much plastic), and the other a 2009 CR-V, which has a lot of plastic cladding. I have to say that after a year and a half, the plastic still looks like new. It looks slightly more shiny, but the color has not faded. I also find it easier to keep clean, and not as much dirt and road salt sticks to it. I have tried a lot of other plastic treatments but they would all fade. Only the ceramic coating has lasted. I don't recommend it on glass, but I've had no issues on plastic cladding and trim, mud flaps, and the headlights and taillights. I also did two coats on the paint on both vehicles. It wasn't a huge improvement but I felt better having two coats, and it helped take care of any minor spots I missed. I have not yet done the wheels, but will tackle that in the spring.

Sarah , i just saw another video of someone muddin in there Bronco , they was talking about how bad the lower parts of the door get messed up so they put Rock Blocks on there's , and they work great , you may want to check them out , stay safe friend

Bronco's looking super Sarah! Clear bra would be great. I have the whole front end and roof of my GR Supra done in Kavaca PPF and ceramic coated. It's holding up super after two years.

Ms. VTec is enabling and nice. I've ceramic coated my Corvette and Cadillac ELR and yep, it's noticeable with the touch method too, and quite slightly better than high-end wax. Wait 48 hours for it to really really really set.

When you’re done with your bronco could you take a trip out to New Jersey to do my F150? Lol! I didn’t get a chance to do it before the weather got really cold and now it’s just sitting in the garage dirty and unwashed and I hate it lol!

There was a couple pre production Pontiac G8 ST’s (Holden Maloo that was supposed to have 50 Cent leading the marketing campaign before they decided to axe Pontiac) up here in Phoenix back in 2010. There were also a few G8’s converted to full Commodore’s. I wish Pontiac would have been able to cling on a couple more years. Holden had some wild stuff just a couple years after GM nixed the line.

STek (with built in ceramic top layer) or XPEL Ultimate (PPF) Go for 2nd coat of ceramic. Coat plastics, windows, bumpers and wheels as well.

An everyday occurance over here in Oz. Just sad that we don't produce them any longer. Used to drive a SSV Redline manual sedan (one of the last one's produced). Miss it every day :(

Not 100% sure, but given the location of the steering wheel on the Maloo, it may be a late model GTO with a body swap. I've seen a couple at car shows, and they are so cool!

I've been detailing cars for 25+ years (not professionally). It's the quality of the paint & condition of the clearcoat that determines the shine. You can get the same results applying three coats of Meguire's liquid wax as you will with one coat of ceramic. *I* prefer Meguire's (or similar liquid wax) as it is less forgiving (I typically apply five coats every 6-9 months).

I have the same cleaning robot. Pretty impressive for the money. I'm still amazed at what it will find after I deep clean.

Looks great.... the finish is "Deeper" meaning you can see the reflection of whatever's close by clearer and with more "depth". My favorite clear bra? Victoria's Secret.

Suggest you show the way the water beads after ceramic coating . I find that impressive. I have been using Adams ceramic on my cars . They are the only ones that have a UV light and UV active die that lets you see how well you are coating it.
