@@robynlynch4992 lolita isn't cosplay its a fashion/sub culture. ^^; your not wrong on her making a gorgeous lolita though! iv got a red wig and a pink wig identical to Sikas hair, to cute (I'm part of the fashion sun culture)
There's specific colorants meant for the squishy resin - S&T sells them too. Other pigments tend to react poorly or seperate. The squishy resin is also a little fickle - if you don't mix it enough or if it doesn't sit for long enough - the 24 hours is a loose estimate; I've had thicker pieces need DAYS to be ready. Also, most glitter/add-ins are no-nos since they WILL sink & clump at the bottom. It shouldn't be that tacky when you try & unmold it - it either needed more time or the pigmets messed it up.
Yeah, glitters and add ins will sink in any slow cure resin if you add them during the initial pour. I have never used the squishy stuff, but I was guessing the mica powders would not sink in it since they do not sink in other slow cure resins.
Reading ahead and using the specific required ingredients is not a Jackie strong suit. She's more fly by the seed of your pants and use what you got which usually is when things go wrong.
@@erinhallmakes777 I had to chuckle at ‘seed of your pants’. It is actually ‘seat of your pants’, but seed was a really funny mistake to make, hee hee.
With any of these thin molds, you really want to use a casting type resin because they just aren't thick enough for the other types of resins to cure correctly. The bookmarks and notebook covers will always be a little bendy. For the squishy resin, you really need a mold that is more solid since it "sticks" to the sides and basically warps your mold. As for your red, blue, and yellow notebook - you really do need a white resin. It will also matter what type of white resin you purchase. White resin has a "falling height" or different densities that determine if the alcohol ink will sink all the way to the bottom or only partially. Look for either raindrops or solid circles or some other type of indicator on the actual bottle that tells you the density. With the alcohol inks I use, 3 raindrops are the heaviest, which makes it sink to the bottom, 2 raindrops only sink about halfway, and 1 raindrop typically stays on the surface like the other colors. Hope this helps. Would love to see you guys try it again!
I got a leather journal from Colorado at their farmers market it has no lines and has a bird on it haven't used it yet but I love it and gives those vibes
I just started leather working recently, and I never thought about that. I have a friend who would probably love that. I wonder where they get the innards.
@@bri8661 you can make them by stacking folded sheets of paper and sewing them in groups into the leather, Dark Horse Workshop has a great video for it

I got my “not another crap kit“! I went through it and I dug out the sparkly alcohol ink… I am obsessed!!!!! Thank you thank you thank you for making such an awesome kit ❤️❤️❤️
If you ever played MineCraft, then how about a MineCraft themed craft? Like a doll custom or resin craft? The Axolotls that was released in the Caves and Cliffs Part 1 release are so cute!
@bAnAnA [ITS PEANUT BUTTER JELLY TIME!] Well the letters are all capitalized, but I like using the capitalized M and C whenever I typed the name of the game out.
I, too, am recovering from surgery. Just started occupational and physical therapy. Hope you recover quickly! ❤ And, yes... these videos DO help! Laughter is the BEST medicine!
Hi Jackie! I do resin crafts as a side job and I just wanted to let you know that there is actually a resin "hair dryer" that stops bubbles from forming and it helps the resin set better!
With that hair Sika always reminds me of a porcelain doll, so beautiful. And her tattoos and piercings make it very cool and so authentic. Then I look at Jackie and she always reminds me of a cute teddy bear you just want to hug and get love from. So from my viewpoint Sika and Jackie perfectly complement each other
Big sister and little sister.....cute. I myself have much younger siblings....I am 55 and my baby sister is 30. I have a sister that is 54, then one that is 51, and then one that is 36, and a Brother that is 33 and then the baby, at 30. One Father and 3 Momma's. Lol..... it's Me, 55 and Toni, 54...... (Then Michele, 51. Mom #2.) Then my Father waited awhile, married my Step Mom, who is a year and a half older than me......they had Kristina, 36 and Our Brother, Quentin, 33.....and then the baby, Justina, 30. I actually didn't get to grow up with any of them. I was adopted and had an older brother, Kenny who is 8 years older than I. I did get to see my biological sister Toni, who lived with our Fathers Sister, Aunt Bev...... several times a month. And my Maternal Grandmother, was a part of my adoptive family.....my birth family and my adoptive family kind of merged. Everyone knew each other, we took vacations together and spent Holidays together too. My Birth Mom died very young, at 24. My Birth Father had already left and started a second family..... with Michele's Mom. And after that break up.....he waited for awhile before getting married again. I have one of those Soap Opera kind of families. I was an only child after age 10. My Brother got married at 18. Watching these two together, makes me smile. And Laugh too. 😊👍
Moriah elizabeth would love that u mixed the rainbow resin it was in the exact order of the 🏳️🌈🌈and also that u poured it in rainbow order in small rectangle
@@tonimcc5609 I teach the chromebook repair class at a public 9th-12th grade high school here in Oklahoma. We repair all devices district wide. So when I’ve seen too many laptops with chocolate melted into the keyboards (elementary kids!) I turn to these videos to lift myself up. 😂🤣😂🤣
I really appreciate these videos because it shows that art isn't always "draw the rest of the owl" and that mistakes are part of learning. It is very refreshing to see imperfections in art tutorials or adventures as you say. Thank you so much for sharing!
This week on NerdECrafter: Sika and Jackie break the world record for ties in Rock Paper Scissors The journal experiments were really cool to see even if they didn’t all really work how they were supposed to. I would love to see a resin project with thick painted brush strokes like how it looks when Sika was starting to put on the first coat of black but with different colors painted on each other!
Jackie and Sika never leave us! I was diagnosed with Parkinson’s at 46 and I used to play guitar, which I can’t do any more, so I’ve turned to art instead and I’m learning so much. You guys and the arts community here on RU-vid help keep me (in)sane. ❤️❤️
Yay!!! I love nerdy resin fun times! Please keep trying. Also, your channel has continued to be one of my favorites for many many years and I really enjoy the gift that it is.
OMG! You are Evan and Katelyn fans!?!? Yes, words are hard!! lol Joobe would be proud! ;-) Awesome job on this one, once again Jackie! Now I'm tempted to try resin art!
I got my not another crap kit box, and I've already started a project. Everything is simple and easy to use for a complete beginner (like myself). I am very excited to see what creations I'll be able to do in future times. I greatly appreciate you releasing a kit that is helping me get comfortable with clay. I've always been nervous using clay and have almost always avoided working with it. To be able to say that I'm actually making something with clay is a major step for me. So thank you ☺️.
This was a lot of fun to watch but from someone who uses the peatre technique in resin a lot, you NEED white alcohol ink. Also wouldn’t hurt if the mold were thicker but your results would’ve been been better with white. The weight of white ink will sink the more transparent colors giving the peatre dish effect. Much love!
Hello , I love your videos and I watch your videos every day ! You are my favorat RU-vidr ever! You always make me smile when I watch your videos even if I'm having a bad day!
I’m laying in my hospital bed right now trying to recover from acute pancreatitis and diabetic coma. I haven’t smiled in a week but I decided to watch you and Sika and I am smiling thank you Jackie
I love Sicca's hoodie/cowl neck. You two are so adorable. I love watching your videos. Also thank you for letting me sell my soul to Graveyard Loon. I never would have found him without you.
watching the colors swirl like that for some reason looks like im looking at a mini multicolored ocean! like the waves and currents crashing near the shore from a birds eye view! so neat! i get fantasy meets tropical island vibes! 😁
Fun video, love seeing what you 2 do with resin. Would also just like to give some appreciation to Sika's AMAZING choice of jumper/sweater - it is SUPER cute,
So excited for the new resin project! My mom and I love you guys and enjoy crafting more with your inspiration. Not to mention picking up all your jokes in our every day life 🤣 "figure it out" "you gon' mix it?"
I have been watching this channel for years and I have to say... Oh my gerd, I can't, Sika's name means figs in greek and from the moment I realised it I can't get the idea of Sika being a chaotic pile of figs out of my head XD
Jaaaaackie, you are a gateway drug for resin.....just got 6 months of Sophie and Toffee cause I wanted to try resin crafting and well.....if you like em I trust you. My kids like you too, they ask for craft kits you approve of. Thanks for being honest, I appreciate it so much.
I love resin art, so seeing you and Sika experiment is so interesting. Now I wanna make notebook covers. Also, I'm glad to see I'm not the only person who touches sticky reins with floured hands! ;)
Check out Wuzu, they do these cool minecraft clay models in altoids cans, or as dioramas, and even on rubiks cubes. Id love to see you try rubiks clay stuff, or try to make something outta clay cubes
I've been feeling kinda sick since yesterday and also I'm starting to think my boss doesn't like me bc I'm not outgoing like my coworkers BUT this video makes me feel better ❤️
Aww, I’m sorry about your job. In my experience, it’s the quiet introverts who are truly the most interesting people once they feel comfortable! I’m sure your boss and coworkers are missing out on getting to know a really awesome person! Hope things get better for you! 😘
Hope you feel better! 🫂 Remember you don't need anyone to like you at work & as long as everyone works together okay/isn't a butt; it's all good. Though, it is nicer when everyone likes each other/gets along. Not everyone has to be outgoing.
Can you do lol suprise dolls? They were a huge trend and I wanted to think what you think of it They're kinda expensive based on the fact that it's just a doll tho
ADHD problem one of a million: You have “everything you need”, but basically never have anything you need when you actually want or need it. 😂 Thus…we ADHD grains have that one (or many) item(s) we collected a million of because we know we will inevitably loose it without even trying.
Ayyyy im early #nerdifacationsquad '^' The carp in the background was making eye contact with me the whole time T>T Sika makes me giggle while you intensify the saltiness, salt and vinegar
I feel like Sika was off in this video. Like, there was something bothering her or she wasn’t actually feeling very good. I could be absolutely wrong of course, but she just didn’t seem her usual mischievously silly self here. I mean, it was there, but it seemed less light hearted and more grumpy than I’ve ever heard her. Sika, if you read this girl, I hope you’re okay! ❤️❤️ We loves yooooou!
Just want to mention to anyone watching to ALWAYS use a ventilator mask and nitrile gloves when working with any type of resin! it's a harmful chemical that can cause skin and lung problems!
You two compliment each other so well. I have two daughters and I hope they grow up to be sister-friends like you. Btw, I’m obsessed with Sika’s sweater, can’t find it anywhere!
