This video will demonstrate what a trigger point injection twitch response looks like. What I do during a treatment session is to find all the trigger points in the muscle and treat them. This is not a one and done thing. I try to get as many trigger point injection twitches as possible. And when we are successful, the patients will feel incredible relief. Remember, technique really matters.

Please note that I get a lot of requests and questions about what equipment is ‘best’ for treating a variety of conditions. The following is not meant to be an exhaustive or definitive list. Please use it as a starting point. If you have questions, please discuss with your healthcare provider. With that said, I have tried a number of the products below, but not all. Can this treatment be used in trigger finger? What do you recommend for trigger finger ?
@JeffreyPengMD
@JeffreyPengMD 2 года назад
Trigger finger and trigger points share the same word "trigger" but are completely different entities. Trigger finger is one situation where steroid injections work great. We use the catabolic effect of steroids to break down scar tissue build up in the A1 pulley of the affected finger.

Hello. I have benign fasciculation syndrome in both of my calves. Could a trigger point injection stop this?

Pretty sure you may have trigger points in both gastrocnemius muscles. I have seen patients with fasciculations in both calves and night cramps. The solution was in fact dry needling.

Hi Dr Peng, I had TPI (freezing)about 2 weeks ago all over my neck shoulder and back , it was so painful ,after the soreness went away I’m even in more pain now , is this normal ? Also was prescribed Meloxicam it doesn’t seem to help …I feel TPI didn’t help but caused way more pain and I’m suffering 🥲

The key is to get a bunch of twitches, the more the better. That's the key to getting relief. If there aren't any twitches with trigger point injections, usually you are left with a bunch of soreness and not much pain relief.
