Thank you very much for this video. You explained it way better than other videos. I didn't realize you had to trim the FD with the big lever first. I was trying to trim just using the small lever and it kept jumping into the small ring and I thought i was doing something wrong, lol.
I've been riding my bike with Shimano 6500 shifters for 19 years and NEVER knew about this. It always shifted perfectly and I knew to avoid cross shifting. Just recently realized that it had this trim feature while trying to adjust a friends bike with Sora. Great video, thanx for the tip.
I had a Campagnolo 11s athena and after realizing it doesn't need trim, but can use ALL combinations without rub, I question why I always needed this on Shimano...
Of all the years I've been riding road bicycles, and never understood why my front derrailleur had 2 clicks to get it from small c/ring to large c/ring. I try not to cross chain when cycling, so wont try trimming to facilitate what is a "nasty sin" ie cross chaining. Thankyou for this explanation. Learnt something today.
Thank you for your great video. I`ve actually tried to set my front derailleur weeks and weeks not knowing about trim functionality. I have gave up in the end took it to bike mechanic to get the set my front derailleur. Then they have told me about this. So I was probably set my front derailleur at the first place correctly not knowing this function.
Thanks for.the explanation! I've recently set up my r7000 front derailleur. I get good movement going from top into t-trim and from t-trim back into into top, a small amount of movement of the front derailleur going from low into L-trim but if I try to return from L-trim back into low like in the video the derailleur doesn't move. Is this normal?
