I have been to Changi twice with Singapore Airlines (A380). Once on the return journey from a round-the-world trip from Sydney and once as a stopover on a round trip through Malaysia and Borneo. Both times I really enjoyed the airport and the city of Singapore. Very green, clean, modern and mostly friendly people. The hotels at Marina Bay were fantastic. The service in Singapore Airline's Premium Economy Class was impeccable. Many thanks for sharing this flight-experience.😁

Singapore airport was over the top in beauty & uniqueness 😮 With the breathtaking gardens & waterfalls beside it & of course Louis Vuitton store inside I could just live there. They do deserve any top award given. Loved the lightning ⚡️ show from the squall line. Too bad people on board don’t do what you do and LOOK OUT OF THE WINDOW ❤😊. Enjoyed the trip !👍🏻🙋🏼♀️🇺🇸
I also think Changi airport clearly deserves the "best airport in the world" award. It's just amazing. Better than you might expect, even after watching videos and knowing what to expect... Next Saturday a trip within the US on the east coast ;)
A small correction. At 13:07 Andaman Islands are controlled by India. Here, you'll find the North Sentinel Island, home to the last uncontacted hostile tribe. They reside on one of the Islands' of the total of 572. The Andaman and Nicobar Islands are beautiful and is a tourist destination!

I am enamoured with the Singapore Airport!!! What a beauty!! The gardens with the water fall and the whole place.are so unique and beautiful. I would go to Singapore just visit the airport. The flight was so surreal with that huge storm that illuminated the heavens in an enchanted way. Amazing!! Thank you so much.

Changi has changed alot since I was last there in 2000 and it was a fine airport back then. Looks magnificent now. Great video and I enjoyed seeing the storms. I couldn't fault the service when I last flew with SQ from London HR to Singapore, then onto Manila.
I appreciate your helpful information on the places the airplane traverses, as well as your commentary on the all-important technical details on aviation and airport design. I can tell you are clearly one for looking out the window rather than being oblivious to the wonders of international flight! Too often other airplane flight RU-vid channels don't seem interested in such things.
The best airline on the best aircraft from the best airport in the world. I always try to use SQ when travelling east and I always arrange a few days stop over in Singapore. I love it, one of my favourite cities in the world. I must confess that half of my cutlery at home has the Singapore Airlines logo on it - I wonder how that happened? At least they still issue proper stainless cutlery and not the plastic or recycled carboard of some others. On SQ Luis, if you are still hungry after the meal they usually will give you another one if you ask or they will give you a "club sandwich" pack which includes some large sandwiches, potato crisps and a cake or bit of fruit. This report was equally as good as your SIN-LHR trip of a few months ago. Keep up the good work.
I disagree with the part you say "the best airline". At least in economy, based on a wide experience, it's not the best. At all. It's not bad, of course not, and it's better than many other airlines (including basically all Europeans and Americans) but not the best. Glad that you've enjoyed the Trip Report! The lightning was spectacular. Isn't it a shame that most people don't take any interest in what goes on in the atmosphere. When i fly, i love to look at the weather and associated clouds, especially in the tropics. Changi Airport is a destination in itself. I will fly to Singapore in the summer from the UK. I don't smoke so i need my thunderstorm fix
Muy bueno el vídeo, lo que más me ha gustado ha sido el aeropuerto de Singapur mas concretamente la cascada y la vegetación son espectaculares no me extraña que haya sido ganador ese aeropuerto en lo visual es muy bonito, y por otra parte las tormentas han sido increíbles aunque no para atravesarlas supongo y por último el catering me pareció normal aunque mejor que algunas compañías que he visto pero nada comparable a las de Emirates etc. Un cordial saludo y buen fin de semana.

Beautiful videos of the scenery outside considering these are A380 windows! I feel that Changi Airport is the best in terms of efficiency. It isn't the most beautiful and neither is it very spotter friendly. But it is definitely one of the best. It is necessary to have security checks at the gate instead of centralised because all departing and arriving passengers congregate at the same level. This is unlike other airports with centralised security screening because arriving and departing passengers are segregated at different levels of the terminal. As for SQ hardware and meals in economy... they can't beat the middle eastern airlines that's for sure. The middle eastern airlines offer to passengers what SQ used to offer 20 years ago. In terms of crew service, I think it is very subjective. I personally like SQ for their consistency. On middle eastern airlines, service can be very inconsistent..

Based on what I've seen from tripreports like this, SQ's Economy seats are probably the most feature-rich Y class seats out there! Also, those storms were really amazing to see. It's proof (if ever it was needed) that the tropics and subtropics have the best (most impressive) storm clouds haha. I speak from experience having lived in the southern US.
This is another excellent trip report!!! Also, I did not think it was possible to land an A380 so smoothly. It was incredible!! In terms of the service, I think their cabin crew is excellent, but everything else is just good, although not as good as it used to be, especially the meals.
I noticed that SQ economy class meals are legacy airline standard only on flights to Australia, LHR and India where fares are highly competitive as even other trip reports mentioned but Japan, USA, Hong Kong have some meal options. They are not consistent compared to the level of ME3 and Turkish Airlines. They raked record profit last year and this year due to cutting cost on catering the same approached as western airlines. EK, EY, QR and TK are government owned flag carriers and have more global routes/destinations to outperform SQ and soon will have another middle east top competitor Riyadh Air/Saudia which also government owned have ambitious planned model as Emirates did in Dubai.
Good to know. Thanks for the info. Maybe it's just my personal taste, but I find the Qatar Airways and Emirates catering more elaborated. You can feel like there is more work behind it, at least in Economy class. I'm looking forward to trying Turkish Airlines on long-haul! :)

The Chinese businessmen and women and ruthless, focused on one thing and straight to the point. Very little room for chit chat, friendliness - they want it done and done now this is why Singapore although being a City State can out do many big countries.
Another great video! Yes in my opinion Singapore Airlines is considered st the Qatar/Emirates level, at least for economy and passenger service. Do you prefer the Boeing 747 or the Airbus A380?
