Awesome video. Watched many times. Takes me back to my childhood growing up chasing grain trains hauled by the mighty Y’s & T’s

Great film. It's always a pleasure to see film containing considered camera shots and is carefully edited.

Nicely done Adam, the sound of these locomotives is certainly a great way to end my weekend! Chased it back from Castlemaine today, regretting not going up on Saturday haha. Keep it up man 👌

Great video Adam, would have been an awesome chase, also great to see you went to Daylesford as well, an N set on a branchline, sure does look interesting lol. Will be interesting to see what colors it gets repainted when it is due for it. Great filming of the Y's too.

Been seeing photos of this all day on the groups. They don’t beat seeing and hearing the event from Pannier Productions 😁

The Y class doesn’t have VC, I don’t know if one would have been retro-fitted for heritage operations.

With 3 locos, there must be a big heavy load of alcoholics on board

@@chuckmaddison2924 They were only for shunting and light loads such as the bridge at Echuca which was old and had a weight restriction. BTW they used Tait bogies which presumably VR had in surplus.

@@darylcheshire1618 I was thinking nothing more than a shunting loco. Even the vintage Deltic from 1961 was 3300 horse with 2 motors. Could do 105 mph.

In Castlemaine, the video shows the plaque on the running board “repainted in 2019 by the Maldon Young Volunteers Group”. It was done out at the Maldon works shed. 👍

This is the only way to experience a 707 operations tour by watching videos of it or chasing it yourself due to their insane ticket prices!

I was thinking 'eh he's probably a cheapskate, it's expensive to run heritage trains' and.. my god those prices!
@nickhiscock8948
@nickhiscock8948 9 месяцев назад
@frostedbutts4340 before 2021 there prices for tours were less than half what they charge now. A weekend tour with meals included to maldon for example was under $600 per person for a steam hauled tour. Now its well over $1200 its just too expensive! 707 operations is not a for profit organisation so shouldn't be charging Indian Pacific level daily charges!
