Dude. Hearing those funky fingers and that sound cutting through one of my already favorite songs is awesome! Love Cory all the more. This video is fantastic. Thanks for putting it up.
@@dude4173 different strokes i guess, i think he'd be perfect. And if his four songs from MSG are any indication i thought they had him low in the mix if anything
I keep coming back to listen to this! I hope they release this show! Loved Cory Wong's playing his solo. One of the few guests that actually madethe entire song performance better!
Totally agree with this. I've been back to this recording more often than I should admit. Picking up the monitor audio seems like a better mix to me than what I heard live or the Sirius stream. Thanks again OP for posting this!
Fucking awesome! Love to see just the pure joy in he has playing! That funk fit the song perfectly and made it better! And that solo! Fuck damn that solo!
I love everything Dave Matthews band does right or wrong. He has fun in all his shoes. That's what makes Dave Matthews different from the rest. Never change Dave Matthews band. Love you, Samantha ❤️
That might have been to turn up his in-ear monitors of himself so he could play better ... not his overall level in the mix, which he wouldn't be able to judge anyway (thats why the mixing desk is usually quite far from the stage)
My wife wanted to go to this concert and I said no we didn't need to spend the money and see Dave again right now..and then this happened and now I am miserable that I missed it.
I know there was definitely the DMB love affair of the 90's(which I wholeheartedly agree with) but even still I dont think they get talked about in terms of how GREAT a musical group they were. Technical talent, style, songwriting is OFF THE CHARTS. In my opinion one of the best bands absolutely EVER....also, kinda funny how Cory wong all the sudden turns into an autistic kid while soloing, still love it all
Thats a tough song to play rythm much less shred a solo like that. Tim reynolds gave em a nod! Wow i didnt think i was goin to like this but holy shit!!
Sick solos for sure but def sounded identical to Trey’s in LIOG at several points. Unintentional I’m sure but I guess if you were to rip someone Trey would be a great candidate.
@@richwilliams1897 not trying to crap on the guy. obvious talent but much of what comes across, and Ive seen plenty, sounds like Freak Out by Niles Rogers. love to see him mix it up a but. sorry for the armchair Mel Bay.
@@elvislives-gl4rv…not trying to crap on the guy? Did you read your own comment? You’re not alone though, you are in the stellar company of that well known critic @JlsaacMardis (see two comments above). Have fun!!
Boy oh boy do you need to look him up. Cory Wong is indeed fantastic. Check out ru-vid.com0re109tkegA?si=woiWdV4S3QuHd_C6&t=3624 I'd watch a few songs through where Victor Wooten comes out to play. He's one of the premier funk guitarists playing right now.
If you need to know how wrong you are you can look at the band's reaction after billies is over and let me know what matters more: your musical opinion or that of virtuosos. Corey is one of the most impressive talents on the scene right now and his adaptation of his rhythmic strumming technique and breaking out of his comfort zone and soloing is massively impressive. Plus he's probably the only guest on billies ever to actually play the song.
@@yanks7533exactly. Carter is one of the greatest drummers to ever live and he absolutely loved the solo, so whatever this guy says really doesn’t matter.
Creeped out? They looked pumped to me. Once the song was over, Stefan threw his hands up and Carter give him some solid kudos. I won't be surprised if they invite him back to guest some more.@@tambourinedmb
