Thanks for that, a good rundown on the TBird 900. I have a virtually identical '96 with most of the mods you mentioned. I have added Gold Valves in the front forks plus stiffer progressive springs which has improved things markedly. Also a four piston calliper from a CBR1000 and bigger master cylinder have dramatically improved front brake power and feel. Lastly, I hated the cruiser style heavy looking 16" rear rim and high profile tyre of the original so I had the rear hub laced up to a 17" rim which has improved tyre options and looks just right. With no engine mods I am still able to give a lot of modern retro bikes a good scare on a winding country road.
Thanks Shivty, I followed Peter H on this bike many times. Once from Shep to Bendigo at night, he was a keen night rider. Last time I rode with him was from Hotham to Semour turn off with a stop for lunch at Bright. He loved that bike. Just my opinion, I reckon it looked better as a stock bike. Yeah, those plates are something to hang on the wall!!! Cheers. Peter H
Easy to fix ,the carb model is easy to work on I’ve had mine from new in 2003, I’ve done 80000 miles on it and it still going strong Obviously things break but you get over them.
