I would highly recommend building a cover over your lift. It's not designed to be left out in the elements. The metal is actually pretty thin and you can see deflection in the runners. I would add pipe or angle iron to either side of the tread runners and weld into place to eliminate the deflection especially if you plan on using it for anything other than your Ranger. Remember to subtract the lift weight from it's total capacity to get it's safe working/ lifting capacity.
John is a beast; he is going to be very successful. Thanks for the video on this because there is no way in hell this is worth putting up with under any means.
nice video ty, I am curious how much did it all cost when it was all said and done, for example, what did it cost you to send it to a company to offload it, what was your end cost. ty
To do it over again I would have made a crushed rock base in each corner a good 6 inches deep. The one corner near the edge of the gravel corner has sunk and been releveled twice. The second relevel I dug it out and did crushed rock and it has never moved after that.
Service lift is normally reinforced on the inner rails to jack more weight. Some have cut out for slide ins for alignment equipment. I use my storage lift for everything. But reality is I should have a service lift.
@@redneckcomputergeek Thanks for your response & input. So if you have an average car in my case a 55 Chevy 3,300 lbs you could use a parking lift safely periodically. Does it have holes in the upper columns for long term fullup position hand safety pins to install heard some do.. Is their any other differences I tried To find out on my own couldnt .. regards Glenn
@@OutBoardTink62 I have had up to a 6k pound E250 ford van on mine with no problems at all. Yes mine has the pin holes in the top for long term storage. My bet would be its an earth quake safty thing cause the normal 4 holding points are massive.
@@redneckcomputergeek Thanks for your help and I tell you cant get them lifts for $2245 any more,LOLL! You did real good Best Of Luck! Also lots of 4 post scam lift websites out there its really sickening ......
Just used it to unload a generator off my truck bed today. I change the grease in the towers to boat trailer grease and it works great. If you look in the background of videos you will see the pump is covered in a thick black trash bag that I swap out every 6 months or so.
You put the cables on wrong the top cable that runs to the side post should be just like the right side. It needed to be in the bottom pulley not the top one the bolt will not hit if you put it in right you need to take them off the ram and just put the top on the bottom and bottom one on the top.. If you do this over watch a you tube video first, lol.
I bought what i believe is the same lift, i have it fully assembled and it seems a bit wobbly with no weight on it, is this normal? when pushing on the corners the entire lift will move a bit.
@@apexconversion9249 LOL Not famous but known well enough it makes me a living. If funny how many people I went to school with kick up a comment at some point :)
