Oh lucky man! Way back in 1980 the Triumph 750 T140 was my dream bike as a 15 year old kid here in the UK. At 18 years old in 1983 I had just passed my motorcycle test and traded in my Suzuki GT250X7 for a standard UK spec 1979 T140E Bonneville with just 1200 miles on the clock, reg number BKW 167T. Factory fitted with electronic ignition and Amal MK2 carbs it started and ran faultlessly, most of the time. I can still distinctly remember the sensation of the torquey engine surging the bike forward into the distance with ease with a handfull of throttle, and the glorious sound......Happy long gone days! Two more T140's followed, first a 1982 ex police T140AV with Anti Vibration frame with the engine secured in three rubber mountings, plus electric start, cast Alluminium Alloy wheels and triple disc brakes. My final T140 in about 1989, and I would say the best of the three I had, was a basic standard 1981 T140E with electric start. The engine was untouched from leaving the factory, never leaked a drop of oil, never used or burnt any oil and was even quite smooth with very little vibration, reg number JHE 310W.......marvellous! Hope you hang on to your T140 for a while, and enjoy it.

@@brianhaji112 Yes I am still in the saddle, but only just. I don't ride too often now, just short rides round local roads, plus rides to local classic shows, and I am content. I'm very impressed with your epic biking trips. In 1989-1990 I had one more Triumph, a 1975 T150 Trident, followed by a few more classic Japanese bikes. I then sold my last bike and packed in motorcycles in 1992. In 2015 I started again and bought a few BSA's, first a 1969 B25 Starfire, I have always liked Starfires since I was a kid. I then bought a B25 Victor and a B50 Victor, these two bikes were made in 1971 and were export bikes shipped straight to the USA from new, they returned to the UK just before I bought them in 2016. I quite like the fact that they have seen action in the Big Country during the biking heyday of the 1970's , and have now come back home.

My first big bike was a 1977 TR7RV "Tiger 750", I bought it in 1980 after passing my motorcycle test on a 1979 Honda CB250N "Superdream". After that I had three more Triumph's, a 1977 T160V, a 1981 T140E and a 1983 TSX.

These were in the showrooms the year I left high school. It brings back memories of pissing all over them on my first bike,a 1973 RD350

Right on I had a friend two years ago restore one from frame up & came out Killer , it sounded great !! But im guessing you Blow up that RD twosmoker more than once while having a piss lol ! Where that RD 2smoker now ?? Is it still spitting oil n gas mix
@paulg3336
@paulg3336 2 года назад
@@brianhaji112 Not at all ,the worst problem I had was fouled plugs until I sorted out the screwed up settings from the previous owner. I had 2 RDs and an RZ350 never had a problem. Saw plenty of dead British bikes and Hardleys - no dead Italian bikes ,strangely enough. And I recently had a BMW breakdown outside of my house. As for where they are ,the 1973 is regularly raced in post classic racing where it still pisses over anything that isn't another 2 stroke and the RZ is in a collection ,appreciating.

Yes, always best to avoid getting into a battle with an RD350 on the road, but then an RD350 would piss all over many bigger bikes of the 1970's, and quite reliable too.

I am a regular rider. Wear gloves and arm protection please!! You might not think you'll crash but every person like you that does makes my costs go up, as the perceived risks increase. If you don't care about yourself and those who depend on you, do it for the riding community.

Normally I do Friend I do.... I Appreciate your concern as well..You should know I have lots of hours , miles & saddle time on dirt & pavement @ 53 yrs young Thanks But this was around the block ! a ride of three mins... I know accidents can happen anywhere any time get it. U might wanna watch some of my other vids! . But you might worry Even More !. I have gloves & wear them most times I Do !! 98% ... I like Speed & Corners from Dirt to pavement....So I wear my gear , Most of the time. I gear up .. Do what You Got to For Your Sake & Safety... Insurance is a scam we all know that & We all have to deal with it ... the Just in Case or what if this or that should happen?! Well what if it never Does? This also does happen.....I weigh the options and adjust accordingly on the fly... if you are one who falls down alot & Perhaps walk around wearing a helmet then get a suit of armour or a blow up sumo Wrestling suit to ride around with.. But what if nothing ever does goes wrong ? ..do we all get a refund ? lmao! not a chance Scams I say !! My last summer trip 23 states in 4 weeks 9400 mi coast to coast to coast Solo @ Triple degree temps , some high speed areas ! Not one ticket , not one problem or bike issue.. Thank God !! All gas All fun All theTime !...So Run Your Race & Ride your Ride... shiny side up & lay rubber down.. Here its Called America !! So whatever floats your ice cubes !! You know what I'm saying ! Live free or die ! I'm Not a Big Fan of People that want play Cop & Tell others how to live .. U have a great day thanks for watching Liberty 🗽 & the Hot Pursuit of Happiness 🇺🇲 ! God Bless Stay Safe & Keep it Twisted
