Welcome to the video! In this episode I walk you through my simple luggage setup which worked very well for me during a 1200 mile solo adventure across northern France on my motorcycle.
This system will also work for other motorcycles too such as those listed below but please do your own checks before making a purchase. I am very impressed with your setup there Steve.....looks very secure. I like your attention to detail. I myself am not into touring....my back pack ruck sack doe me for my daily junts.

Nice demo young man. I always double protect my bags with a decent bin liner where I keep my clothes/footwear. They're also useful for keeping you dirty washing away from clean stuff, plus any basic tools/oil etc you take on your trip.

Good set up well executed I keep looking at the T100 as an addition to my garage and the used ones aren't to expensive yours is a lovely example I am assuming it's the 900 motor the more I see the more I am liking these . 👌👍

Yeah it’s a 900cc and although the T120 has a bigger 1200cc engine, dual front disc brake and 6th gear, the T100 is more than capable 🙂 I’m happy with it 👍🏻

I've just put 135,000 Km on my 2017 T100...I'm loving it... If you go two up the T 120 makes sense but these are so torque rich you don't need more

Nice setup! I'd highly recommend the stubble & co backpacks for motorcycles. Waterproof and can carry a laptop for your video editing. Keep it up!

Thanks, it’s always a bit of guess work when buying these things. So many reviews and opinions out there it’s hard to decide which set up is best. I’m pleased with it though! I’m going to look at stubble and co now because a backpack and biking jeans are the last bits I need for a full set up. I appreciate you leaving a comment 🤙🏻

Nice video, and setup! I bought the lomo bags 30 ltr each. Waterproof as well and with the belt underneath the seat its also a ‘little bit kind of locked’. No padding however. Pannier rack from Motone (extra strong attachment points according to some reviews) and some simple mini belt for attaching, it literally attaches and detaches within one minute easily. Total costs around 200 pounds

Hi Steve just found the answer to my question I asked on the Lincolnshire ride earlier so as I have the kriega 30 20 10 interlocking bags do you think the spoils work with the duos ? I have the motone custom rails The other question is will you have enough luggage capacity once you deploy the wingman across the back seat ? Best wishes 👍fellow t100 gold line rider

Hi Alan, good question! I think you could make the interlocking bags work with the side panniers like mine. I don’t think they would all fasten together but there would be enough straps to get everything fastened down. You’re quite right though, having the wingman and a duffle bag is not really an option. I could go wingman, side panniers and a back pack if needed? I’m seriously going to try and travel light with the wingman and just take the essentials. The side panniers don’t leave much room once all of the filing equipment goes in otherwise it would be plenty of storage so a backpack for that bit extra and a means to carry some bits to and from the shower block or if I go somewhere on foot 👍🏻 I will be as honest as I can in the upcoming videos to help others who are thinking about it 😄

Very thorough. Lots of credit to pull this off. That’s a lot of luggage too. I’m wondering if a small light trailer would do the job as well, if one is available. Unsure how to hook a trailer up on a bike like this. The rain is a factor too as no matter how secure it always manages to seep in. I want to do this and tour CT, RI, Mass, VT, Maine NH and maybe Nova Scotia.

Hi Tim, thanks for leaving a comment. I was surprised how much stuff I needed for a week touring comfortably. Just by taking the tent, pillow, sleeping mat, sleeping bag etc, half of the space was gone already 😅 Wow that looks exciting. I just checked those states and the route would be very special indeed. ⁠@@TimTheMusicMan Yes it’s a lot to consider because if you camp at sites without a restaurant/cafe on site or nearby, you then also need to consider a stove, food, utensils etc. With hind sight, I’d possibly recommend staying in a hotel or Airbnb 👍🏻

What’s actually holding the Kriega saddlebags onto the bike or do they just sit there?! And can they work singly ?

They fasten to the pannier rails on each side of the bike with Velcro straps. The pannier rails are linked in the video description. Others are available but they’re really good and make it easy to take the panniers on and off. Yep, the kriega panniers also work as a single pannier. The set I bought came with a special strap to fit a single one. You still need the pannier rail though. Hope that helps 🙂

Would the back pack not intrude or you reverse fitting it to your chest?

If you can ride without a backpack, I would recommend it on long journeys as it can get in the way with luggage behind. Even the most motorcycle inspired backpack will get tiresome after a long day. I had quite a lot of filming equipment to pack in my side panniers but if I wasn’t filming on this trip, the side panniers and duffel bag would have been just fine. Thanks for watching 🤙🏻

I would need a larger top bag to fit it in but that is an interesting idea 🙂 I used this particular top bag as I already had it laying around the house so to keep costs low, I just used what I had. Thanks for the comment 🤙🏻
