I have now 75,000 miles on my 2020 Rocket GT with the quick shifter and I can say it has caused zero issues so far and the transmission is still butter smooth.Nothing much more fun than pegging the throttle on the Rocket and running through the gears without even lifting the throttle and its great for lazy folks in city traffic too. I still think the Rocket is the best all around street bike made. I regularly do long rides (1100 miles the most in one day), I tour (10 days out was the longest), and play with the sports bikes in the twisties (can I keep up with the best riders on the best sports bikes? no, but I have passed way more sports bikes in the twisties than. have passed me). hello ^^ I see you're very happy with your rocket 3 GT. i live in france and this year i'm going to get one lol. have you installed a new engine map that removes the restrictions on intermediate gears or not? because i've read on forums that doing so makes the engine more enjoyable. 🙂
Had my Rocket 3 TFC for 4 years now. Phenomenal machine. I ride it all year round and take it on tour. It is a motorcycling masterpiece. And that quick shifter is as smooth as silk. Had the old Rocket and the difference is as day is to night. Only adjustment I made was with the suspension, put it on comfort settings front and rear. Done plenty of 500 mile days very comfortable. I do most of my riding on back roads. Heading off to Rocketdays in Germany, outstanding celebration of all things Rocket. 20th anniversary of the Rocket this year too. Needless to say, I absolutely love it! Great video.
Hey TAYM I have to say this bike looks pretty damned good for the size of it and I reckon in the good old USA "as people say " it must sell really well I would think maybe ! .You obviously kept this a secret from Mrs TAYM as she is not out with you and it's her perfect bike "naughty boy" their will be a price to pay for that little indiscretion😂. It's quite surprising that small screens can be quite effective really I am sure mine helps a bit on my bike .One could sell two or three of the bikes and get one TAYM I reckon whether you would or not I very much doubt it but what price super power 😉.👌👍nice one !

A delightful test ride ,most of all demonstrating that the Rocket has agility and can be ridden in a real world manner , down some Suffolk country lanes. Yes, makes me want a test-ride too !
Love my rocket that’s same as mine but I bought the chrome edition it’s the best bike I’ve ever had it’s a pussy to ride I’m still running mine in it’s from Suffolk triumph I think they great dealers very friendly I enjoy going there looking at the bikes and a coffee loving your vids ride safe this triumph is deffo a keeper take care
Wow what a bike, you could hitch a caravan to that and tour Europe, well said about trying to appreciate your surroundings as it’s so good for mental health ,definitely a plus side of motorcycling. Thanks TAYM
I love this bike and Triumph made a great job of designing the new version. My R model came with a quickshifter and its ok not great compaired to either a Bmw 1krr or Suzuki gsxr 1000r both these are super smooth compaired to my qs on the rocket .Its torque is mental and it handles great concidering its weight good job Triumph on the suspension .They should have fitted the fuel pump on the outside to allow more fuel in the tank Honda did this with the vtx 1800 .Im glad you liked it ,more folks should test ride one of these bikes .
My 2023 Rocket 3 GT popped a delamination hole in the front Avon tire at 375 miles. Triumph (manufacturer) said it's not warrantied by them, and I have to contact the tire manufacturer. My dealer is great in trying to help me, but Triumph is scandalous for hiding in warranty fine print, and passing the buck after I dumped over 20k in the bike. What other warranty issues are they going to duck? You've been warned.
Yes, my triumph dealer is better than triumph who on occasion seem to fail in grasping any fault as their own 😁 but it seems a lot of manufacturers are the same 😁 thanks BK 😁

I cannot quite understand the point of a quick shifter? What is so difficult about pulling in the clutch to change gear? I am admittedly old school and know no better! Awesome bike and review.
Such a glorious beast of a bike! On my 890 Adventure the biggest advantage I’ve noticed with the slipper clutch concerns not missing my shift, especially going into a downhill off camber corner. I don’t know if anyone else has ever missed a shift on those but it’s hairy going through a corner at speed in neutral, I usually have to grab some brake again without the quick shift. Not so with the slipper. When I slow to enter the corner that when I downshift and so far it has never missed that lower gear and left me in neutral. Most other times I still use the clutch. At least that’s how it goes for me. I also understand not having another 20K laying around. That’s the thing about being retired for me, I’m having to select my large purchases very carefully. In Winter, I would imagine the larger contact patches of those wide tires gives a bit more traction, stability, and stopping power. Have a great weekend Mr TAYM and all you TAYMites!

Brilliant bike, like you if I had a spare 25 thousand lying around would be very tempted! TAYM you've inspired me to get rides in when I can instead of just summertime, got some cold weather gear and rode the Guzzi yesterday and Bonneville today :)
They are really good looking bikes much improved on the older models. Triumph servicing does seem to be expensive, my brother got a new Triumph in 2022 had its first year service to keep the warranty and was charged around £250 for oil and filter change, my BMW first year £143. Must say he was not happy but as they only come with two years warranty he’ll do all servicing by himself from now on. He does love the bike mind you he had a Suzuki naked bike last time and it was a fast good handling bike but wasn’t comfortable for longer rides.
Yes, servicing is expensive on most bikes if you can’t do it yourself and if you do lots of miles you need to do some calculations to figure out which is best 🤔 thanks SW 😁
$80 to a $100 to change oil yourself. I bought a hoist, and K&N have filters with a nut on the end. Before I got the hoist I would put a brick or lump of wood under the sidestand. The hoist is handy for wheel cleaning as i can just spin them. Thats 40 or 50 quid in ancient parlance.
I couldn't believe how small it was when I saw one in the flesh. Mind you, all triumphs seem to be tiny with the exception of the adventure models (not for me) and yet I'm only 6ft tall.
I took out the previous Rocket ...it made me laugh out loud 🤣. When they discontinued it I was disappointed that I didn`t get one. The new bike looks great and I love a quick shifter 🤨. Thanks TAYM ❤
I want one. But I would have to sell my Thruxton to afford a Rocket. And I like that too . In Australia low mileage Rocket examples are $A24,000. TFC Rockets low mileage are $A50,000.
@@TAYM Ive just spent $24,000 on the Thruxton. Im an O.A.P.! When I was a kid oap's bought Austin Cambridges. I have sorted it out , suspension wise and Michelin Road 6 tyres. It tracks well and copes with crappy roads. I can with no drama or terror do 55 mph corners at 80.!

No doubt it is beautiful. A beautiful enigma! Is it a cruiser? Is it a sports bike? Maybe a super sport cruiser?? The issue I have with the rocket is the same as I have with my RSV4 Factory - where and when do you ride it? When you have to choose between the rocket, the scrambler, the bobber and the Thruxton...thr rocket just doesn't seem to be the first choice! But...that may not stop me from getting one! 😂😂😂👍 Great video!
I just bought here in USA a 2023 Rocket R, the best part about this Bike is Parking it, and having everyone crowd around it, and Gauck and Admire it. 👍🇬🇧
Its a hell of a bike. Wish I could be out on it more, but need to sleep and work.....Even in the cold UK winter, its good, with the heat off the engine. Love being on mine
The Rocket 3 is the definition of overkill, but I am glad that it exists 😁😁👍👍. 2.5 litres in a motorbike 😲. It looks phenomenal and sounds pretty good too, especially at 69 mph. I would rather spend that kind of money on two or three bikes though.
I'm doing well although still a few issues , I've been on a 20 mile ride taking it easy but so good to be able to ride again, I've missed it. Thanks for asking

Many early reviewers of this bike said " No quick shifter but a bike like this doesn't really need one", I say, " how little do they know" 😊 When I bought Black Beauty, the Triple Black GT model, it had no quick shifter and was close to requiring its first service. Having seen and heard Si Moto Photo review an R model with the quick shifter my heart warmed as I heard the sound of those up and down shifts. I had one fitted during the first service, the cost of the shifter is £300 but the GT model also requires a fitting kit due to the placement of the gear lever cost £45 so it wasn't a cheap mod. That said the QS absolutely transforms the bike when flicking up and down the gears on the twisties. It automatically rev matches on the blip down, going from sixth to first is like a musical concerto. The clever foldable mounts for the panniers are similarly priced and addition of the panniers themselves takes the total cost to over £800. How on earth did you manage to get out on the Rocket without Mrs TAYM on the back, I reckon you must have had a sneaky test ride while she was at work 😂
Glad we have water between you and I, sit down and relax before you read what I have to say: quick shifting has been around for about 50 years. VW bugs with a clutch less shift...... for the ladies that using a clutch to shift was to much! Or for the old person that had gotten to old to be quick enough to keep speed and shift up hill. Which one are you? ???????. I don't see a dress! 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 I am at full belly laugh on this one.😂😂😂😂😅😅😅😅😅😅 could not resist. Glad you had fun, and for all the other ones that have that stuff on the bike. There is a reason why Honda was the one that put it on the Goldwing! 😅
