Hey there ive got sintered brake pads installed 2 weeks back on scrambler 400 and it’s making lot of creaking noise in the front brake , any solution please
Default organic brake pad (front) worn out in 900 km. Then I installed sintered brake pad, it lasted only for 1600 km. What’s going on? Previously I had yamaha FZ 16. I used it for 36000 km and changed brake pads only once.
So whats the update now bro ? has Triumph taken measurements to improve the longevity of brake pads ?, i was planning to upgrade from My FZ25 now i am skeptical after going through the entire comment section and your video.
Faced similar issue with my scrambler 400x. The fromt brake pads started creating loud noise after just 750 kms . The service centre said they have to replace it and these one will ko longer work. Installed the sintered ones of speed 400 to the front now. Much better braking on the roads and much quicker response for emergency.
@@rajkirangharge983 sintered pads eat up the disc. And I hope you did not pay for the new sintered pads, it's Quality issue by triumph and they have done silent recall for few bikes. Read on one of the mumbai groups what app
@@dipen.nisar.autovlogs oh my god.even I faced this, 1500km and brake pads gone! What a terrible make, even some people in my group said its quality issue with some bikes.
I also own a Triumph Scram 400X…. My brake pads worn out at around 8000 km and got a sweeking sound from my front rim, so I replaced the brake pads and now it’s working fine…. Just check on any other part which might be damaged causing this issue.
@@tanmayshirodkar5929 all checks will be done for sure. I already mentioned in the vlog itself. My question to all users is, did your scrambler have organic brake pads and did they wear off so sooner , under 1000 kms .
@dipen.nisar.autovlogs Yes, bro, my Scrambler front brake pads also wore out in 900 km, and they asked me to replace the brake pads of the Speed, which cost almost 2200
I recently purchased a Scrambler 400x, and during my first service at 941 km, I was informed that the brake pads were worn out and needed replacement. Despite my concerns about the early wear, the service center attributed it to my riding style. Following their advice, I replaced the brake pads for ₹600 and adjusted my riding habits. However, after only 300 km and 9 days of riding with minimal usage of the front brakes, the brake pads are severely worn out again. This is highly unusual and concerning given the short distance and minimal usage. I'm unsure of the root cause and even if I install sintered brake pads, they may still wear out within 1000-2000 km. Any insights or advice would be greatly appreciated!
refer the vlog again, and watch it till the end, I have already explained my concerns, its the same what you have. its the quality of pads, you should not have paid for them and pushed it back. its a shame that triumph is pushing it on riders. a cheap move.
The same thing happened to me. My brake pads were worn out at 800 km and the service centre people said, It was due to your bad riding style or maybe you must have gone off roads. They charged 600 + other charges and still couldn't solve my proper issues. I'm facing an issue with free chain play and (kirr kirr friction) noise coming from it. Does anyone know what the issue is exactly and let me know if anyone facing the same
@@AniketGharate you should have not paid for the brake pads amount. Its their fault for providing low quality brake pads. Still fight back as they will wear off again. Chain issues. May be proper alignment is not done. Get hold of a good mechanic in your area and get it checked. Also these chains get wet and splashes easily as there is no proper cover on them from the tyre side unlike Dominar 400. Chains get filled easily with splash . @@hardikkhandelwal7097 dm me on Insta - let me add you to a common group. Dipen.nisar.autovlogs. I personally don't get any of these things done. Very expensive. I would rather repaint or get new parts
I believe the rain has some effect on the brake pads . My brake pad was working fine but after few heavy rain ride it got worn out. I had to change the brake pad after 4700 km of ride.
@@Abhisheknhes so are you saying rains have changed all of a sudden this year ? And are you saying we should not ride in rains at all ? Think again buddy, I have already explained , same organic brake pads have lasted over 20000 kms and 5 years in my dominar. Don't ignore such points and listen to service. They are duping us with bad quality stuff which can be life threatening in some cases.
they wear off in rains faster than the other stand quality brake pads. its a quality miss by triumph and bybyre - escalate the issue. Do DM me on insta if you would like to join our whats app group - dipen.nisar.autovlogs
I own honda highness and similar issue of wearing out break pads front especially in rainy days happen under 1 k kms. Even after so many complaint from everyone honda does not change their organic break pads to some good material. Most of people owing honda are using ceramic brekpads after market, but those also wearing out fastly in rainy season
hey, I also have a 400x and i believe i have the same problem, at 550 KMs breaks started to make noise, initially i thought it was some water that may have entered the callipers, but now its seems pads may might be worn out. im too surprised at this getting worn out so early. i previously owned a 310 GS(no Pads replacement in 5K kms of ownership) and Honda RS350 (front pads changed after 6K Kms) and pads lasted a considerable amount of time, man even my Access 125 fronts pads lasted approx 25K Kms. In your bill i didn’t see the charges for the replacement did they waive of the charges ? im visiting the workshop tomorrow to get the service and this issue addressed.
I fought and got the amount removed. thats what pissed me off, I had to fight for it. they were trying to push it on me initially that I must have pressed the front brake while riding, later they pushed on to the pads that organic pads wear off in rains. Frankly totally crap answers and am sure they are aware about the issue and have pushed it on more customers silently as wear n tear.
Just a note, noise from brake pads is common in rains, so yours could just be because of mud stuck in them or brake pads dust. but keep a close eye on them.
@@dipen.nisar.autovlogs hey, had the same issue pads were completely gone, initially they were putting it on me by saying it's wear and tear, but after some push back got it covered as a defect.
Hey buddy, got my scrambler last week and it's a pain by seeing the mudsplashes and dirt, especially with pillon and shock absorbers it's very bad... does the mud splash protection kit will make any difference? If not Any 3rd party solution available...and are u planning on installing a backrest? I spoke with triumph guys and they told they're working on official backrest...till then zana or MT backrest could do the job...
Mud Splash protection is useless. Nothing concrete available as of now. I am still looking for a good match and protector. I might not install back rest, I have installed the top box and it takes up lot of space. seats are shorter
I have also bought scram 400 mine break pad burn out with in 700km and the total bike I have ridden is around 3700km and within 3700km I have change my break pad 2 times such bad experience with triumph
@@JarvisTS-f5x same ones organic, they installed the same ones. And asked to test for 250-300 kms. You could have gone for ktm ones or versah. Much cheaper
Hi Bro, there is no tyre hugger that fits well with Scrambler, even if customised a tyre hugger, i doubt it stays when bike is ridden at 100+…..requesting you to come up with a tyre hugger option, may be KTM tyre hugger and customise to Scrambler….
I have already purchased one Hugger, belongs to a good OEM vehicle brand. but I need to make mods to it, as most other bikes have 17 inch wheels with tyres /40 thru /60 in height. Ours is /80 in height. i.e. Tyre Side wall Height. I need to make adjustments for it and then test it for a few days. if that works out, I will share a detailed vlog in 2-3 weeks from now.
@@sagarshinde6795 I have the same doubt. It's the brake pads quality. Because otherwise vehicle would be riding with a jammed front wheel if calliper or abs or master cylinder had any issue. Please do share this video in triumph group if you are part of and let's collect more info on any other member facing this issue. Let's all comment on this video.
If you missed the part where I explained - this isn't my first bike, my dominar has similar brake pads, organic and they have lasted 5 years and 20000 kms . Also probably you are not aware, all discs n pads get this dirty in rains then why didn't the rear wear off . There are organics at the rear too. But they are almost unused. Scars are common brake pads but that does not give them a reason to wear off under 600 kms atleast for my kind of riding. I am not looking at why this happened with my bike, am sure there is some fault with the pads or the calliper or the mast cylinder or the abs motor. Am looking at if you have faced similar issue. Need more data on that.
@@dipen.nisar.autovlogs No worries pal. We all think we are experts when someone else is having a problem. I am probably just hoping it's rider error because I am hoping to get one soon. And yes! I did miss the part about organic pads because there was a lot of background noise at my end when I was watching your video.
@@dipen.nisar.autovlogs might be but I think the SC head may have shown me someone else brake pads at that time because the scond set has hit 3.5k now and still seems to have loads of life. My organic pads on the rear lasted 5.5k first set, the second set I put the pulsar 200ns pads cuz I had a long ride to do and I couldnt go the SC at the time. That barely lasted 2km, ended up impacting my rotor slightly cuz it was down to the backing plate (my carelessness but wasn't expecting the life to drop this much, so wasn't checking often enough). I took the bike to a third party garage and they said the rotor damage from backing plate contact is causing wear unevenly on ths pads on one side (rear). The scratches to the rotor were minor and the first set I changed with material left, so no idea what to check now and they said both front and rear calipers look fine. But something seems off my Apache 160's front pads used to last a year and a mileage of about 10k atleast. Im now trying Vesrah ceramic pads on the rear, let's see how that goes.
@@glenhenry9305 same bro...but mine screwed up the disc in 6k km and when I replaced the breakpads and the disc, the new breakpads wear out with 2k km
