I go to Lind Triumph London to test ride and review the beautiful Triumph Speedmaster motorbike. Motorcycling to clear your head is great and of course motorbiking for fun!! Triumph make some epic motorbikes and this is one of the very cool Triumph motorcycles. It was a beautiful day in London on my first cruiser motorcycle .
What motorbike should I buy? That is the question!!
The speedmaster is a cool looking motorbike, however I did seem to get stuck in the London traffic a fair bit. More suited to cruising the countryside, and looking cool.

I’ve also suffered from Severe Anxiety and Depression since 1984 and it has not been fun but with proper Doctoring and medication I’m living a Good Life as best as possible. Cheers mate and Love your Channel. Love from Salem, Ohio US!

Great vid, I'm dreaming of a Speedmaster (probably next year). I'm in Devon though so not got the same traffic issues thankfully! Looking forward to pottering through the lanes down to the coast or over Dartmoor. Cheers for discussing your mental health. Hard for a lot of us chaps I suspect. I've had quite a lot of counselling which has helped my anxiety, but I know what you mean about being trapped in your head. Sometimes anxiety for me would make it hard to be rational, I'd feel like I was the only sensible person around me to be worrying so much! Really hope your mental health continues to improve.

Hi Robocrump, thanks I appreciate it. I say go for it 👍. It is a great bike, great for pottering around and it can also handle surprisingly well. You only live once and motorbiking is one of lifes major experiences. No problem at all, thanks for sharing about your anxiety as well. I hope the counselling continues to help and stick with it. If you haven't tried it I can highly recommend the Wim Hof method (see his youtube channel), it is a bit daunting at first, but seriously it has helped me a lot!! Thanks again and take care 👍

@@redangrevival I really do think it helps others to know that you can relate with what they are going thru. I've been a behavioral professional for over 25 years. In addition to seeking talk therapy I also advise being open to being evaluated for medication management....there have been great advancements in treating anxiety and depression. Although I don't work in addiction I can really endorse the social support of a 12 step program like AA. All my best ! PEACE AND LIGHT

Hi, love the new Speedmaster, amongst my collection I have a 2015 factory custom Bobster based on the old version. As for your mental health you are brave I putting it out there, I am recovering from a breakdown I had last November and still taking a baby dose of Sertraline every day and now feel fantastic, no more anxiety, panic attacks or depression. I bike every day of the year, well almost, I don't like ice and my I've chains me to the cooker on Christmas Day, sort of! Keep biking and stay safe.

Hi Greg, yea it was a really nice bike I loved it in the end. Think I might be getting one very soon, and start to do some tours on it 👍 Thank you very much for your support. I hope it is the right thing to do, seems to be quite theraputic for me atm. I hope it can in some way help some people to talk about mental health more and make it more acceptable in society. I am currently on Sertraline and it is defiantly helping alot, defiantly better than other meds iv tried. Haha, some one should design a portable cooker for a motorbike!! 🤔 I sincerely hope your mental health continues to improve. Thanks again so much for the message, and support, I appreciate it alot. I will do, hav some great tours planned for August and September. 💪

“Wisconsin”. Lol. Most of the Midwest in the USA has thousands of miles of country roads. Of course you could also just go 30 minutes outside of London too! I suggest you take a vacation to the USA. Take a ferry from Wisconsin across Lake Michigan to the state of Michigan then go north to Lake Superior and then around back to Wisconsin!
@redangrevival
@redangrevival 2 года назад
Haha yes I can do that. I have just always dreamed of touring around America, and since Harley Davidson is based in Wisconsin that is the state I thought of first !! 😬Thanks for the tips, I will defiantly look into that. Very much appreciated 👍

@@redangrevival you are welcome here in the USA any time my friend. Wisconsin is a beautiful place. Bordering on Lake Michigan which is one of the largest fresh water lakes in the world. Used to live in Wisconsin. Lots of cows and farms and cheese home of Harley Davidson and University of Wisconsin Badgers. There is a catamaran ferry that will take you across lake in about 2.5 hours. The difference from the UK is that here you may find endless country roads with no real interesting history to speak of but spectacular scenery quaint little towns and friendly people. Lots of fresh fish. North is Lake Superior which is the largest freshwater lake in the world by area. The upper and lower peninsula of Michigan are connected by one of the largest suspension bridges in the world. The mackinaw bridge. In total Michigan and Wisconsin are larger in area than the entire United Kingdom with about 1/4 the population. Lots of empty spaces and camping sites and natural wonders to explore. Regards. Stay safe and healthy.

Love the Speedmaster!!

I love the Speedmaster (one arriving for me next week!) but it's most natural habitat is perhaps not filtering in London. I think you *can* - the low down weight and relaxed torque delivery is good - but you might want to change the mirrors and bars and maybe even go for mid controls to get your feet under you (though the forward controls aren't very far forward). To be honest, if you feel the need to do all that, you might as well get a Bobber! Most ideal for London, if you still want the Bonneville style, is the T100 or Street Twin though. Horses for courses I suppose. Triumph make a bike for (almost) everyone, I'm sure. Your idea of getting a scooter for London is a serious contender. Let's face it, London riding is all about getting there and that's it. You might find, though, that you just get used to not being as focused on speed, ironically, when you ride the Speedmaster some more. It'll get you past *most* traffic and when you occasionally get stuck for a few seconds, you can just sit back, grin and be content with how cool you look and great you feel whilst just being 'zen' hehe. Re. "Fully committing to the cruiser"? Not for me. I've always 'fancied' a cruiser, but always found them too over-the-top to actually have one. The fully forward pegs with ape hangers 'forced clamshell' position is not actually comfortable, whereas the Speedmaster is very comfortable with just enough bar sweep and peg relocation to allow you to unfold into a relaxed sit. Other aspects of 'real' cruisers are emphasising coolness at the expense of practicality, handling and performance, where the Speedmaster manages to have 'cool' without those sacrifices.
@redangrevival
@redangrevival 3 года назад
Hi David, many thanks for the detailed reply. That is very helpful, I appreciate your insight a lot! Great to hear another point of view. I agree the extra few seconds that you do get stuck, can be used for just taking in the moment and of course looking very cool!! I am test riding the Triumph Scrambler 1200 xc new week, so that should be an interesting comparison. Thanks for the input. Hope you enjoy your speedmaster, make the most of the sunshine 👍

On my 2018 Speedmaster, I’ve changed the forward ohs to the mid reach ones and raised the bars with the 1 inch adapters, makes the bike more nimble in city traffic and allows you to raise yourself on bad roads ( like Steve McQueen in the great escape haha).

I am somewhat biased as a Speedmaster owner for the last 3 years, so I say do it! When you get more accustomed to it you can filter pretty well, although London may not be it's natural home. It is as cool as penguin p**s, even the guy on the R9T was checking it out, probably revaluating his purchasing decision! I commend this motorcycle to the house.
