My son and I are on the hunt for a 1968 Spitfire and are in the process of purchasing one.I have been watching a lot of your videos and really appreciate the work you have done and while I prefer the looks of the original Spitfire, I really appreciate and respect your desire and work done to customize your car to your liking. It really does look cool, I like what you've done with it and like you said, it's your car, who cares what other people think! Keep up the good work and keep the videos coming! Cheers!
You've done the right thing, make it your own enjoy it,your never going to please everyone, merry Christmas to you looking forward to your future adventures.
I have been following you since the beginning. I welcomed that you got this bucket of bolts back on the road, but cringed when you announced you had decided to replace the original bonnet. I was aware what a challenge you faced, having embarked on a smaller scale project in making and replacing some steel car panels with fibreglass many years ago. However, by the time you embarked upon this recent project you had already gained my respect for your tenacity so I knew you would complete the job. Also I have never regarded any spitfire after the Mk 3 as a purist's sports car so shed no tears when you got to work. I like what you have achieved and full credit for you for getting there in pretty cramped circumstances, in an unfriendly climate and within a quite reasonable time frame. Well done and Merry Christmas to you. I also appreciate and enjoy your self-deprecating manner. I trust you get to enjoy driving your car when the weather improves.
Last year when I was doing some rust removal around the rear lights I spayed some Rustoleum rust reformer in a black color, I thought it looked great so I left it black. The grill looks way better now.
This is the first video I`ve seen from you, as it was in my recommended ones.. Interesting, Its similar to the Bond Equipe in concept. First impressions are, I also prefer the vertical grille slats, & the black rear treatment looks good, but I`m not a fan of the chrome bits on the rear lights, personally... Also, I`d probably tint the rear indicators with red light tinting spray, & maybe the reverse light lenses, to add to the American-ness, & I think I`d use a different rear number plate light, to lose the Triumph badge, just to confuse people more... Happy Christmas!
