In this episode we get the beautiful Peugeot metallic green laid and I deal with some pretty massive reactions in the paint... Probably my most stressful video i've ever made !

Do not worry about how long the episodes are I’d watch if they were 6 hours long, they are never boring.I’m never going to spray a car but it’s so interesting to find out about different reactions to different paints, I never realised that was a thing. Learning so much keep them coming 👌🏻

I'm currently restoring a TR7 and I've watched a lot of car restorations on You Tube. It's really refreshing to see someone showing their failures and issues rather than everything being perfect first go. These videos just go to show that your setup doesn't have to be perfect and in the real world things don't always work out first time. But you just have to give it a go and get on with it!

The TACK clothe Ben is made from the bean of the TIC TAC TOE TREE in Peru which is chewed by little old granny’s into a pulp , laid flat on screens and left to dry over 1 day in hot sunshine ☀️, quite an intensive process but so worth it 😁. Only use the ones from Peru 🇵🇪 because they are the tackiest on the market , glad you wore your gloves now 😂.

Absolutely fantastic work Ben! Hands down one of the best RU-vid channels out there! The process of letting the solvents out of the paint is called flashing off and the best way to stop any reaction if you do get some at the primer stage is to sand back to bare metal. Had the same problem with a motorcycle.

Superb outcome Ben, there is a risk in painting over old layers, which is why everyone bangs on about bare metal resprays these days, but if you can't justify the cost in time of a total stripdown of the whole car and sending the shell to the blasting shop, then epoxy primer is a great way of sealing all those old layers and isolating your new paint. What you did there was wizardry, snatching victory from the jaws of defeat. I do agree, that is the most stunning, rich, vibrant colour I've ever seen on a car mate. Wait until you get it out on a sunny summers day in June. Automotive porn. And no need to mop and polish. Wow.

I think the car looks great and no reactions i know how you must thought some point that you wished never had the idea but you can see the rewards in how it looks now because that's how i thought when i painted cars but for all problem's you can't beat the feeling of seeing what you have the Finished car i use to love it even though it was a pain in the arse at times.

I had a 1300 Spitfire MK4 for 7 years in the mid 80's , colour inca yellow NKT977M , it was a lovely car , the main thing that breaks on the Spitfires are the trunions , the centre bolt snaps , funny thing is fortunately they always seem to break on very low speed , like turning a corner .The Spitfire was originally a 1300 cc , I fitted a 1500 gold seal engine that was restored from Appleyard , in the seven years I had the car it had 3 engines & I eventually replaced the gearbox with the 1500 with overdrive , it's the only car I know inside out , I still have the spare ignition key with the triumph keyring , I still occasionally dream of the car every now & then , best car I ever had & it held the road really well despite the rear single leaf spring . I swapped the twin SU carbs for a single Strongburg , it worked really well & was far more economical .

awesome Ben I like the colour it shows that in these days of instant gratification that a little (lot) of time spent doing a job is worth it in the end. so many other channels and especially tv shows make it look so easy. The "click & Collect" generation need to take note, there is no substitute for a bit of hard graft to achieve real self satisfaction. Go on why not finish the job detail the engine bay, you know you want to!
